Sorry that's not right anymore. It was 2013-2014 but not this last season. He's knocked out a lot of the greedy side, is very much a team player and is a bugger to get the ball off.
Is it not true. Best if I delete it?

It's got to be

I'm walkin' with Memphis
Walkin' with my feet ten feet of the field
Walkin' with Memphis
Do I really feel the way I feel.

How about my version ?

He put on his red boots

And boarded the plane

Touched down in the land of the mighty reds

In the middle of the pouring rain

LVG would you look down over him

He got a first class ticket

And is as red as a boy can be

Then he is walking in, Memphis !

Walking in ten times better than Bale

Walking in Memphis !

Do you feel the way I feel

“Tell me are you a red child ?”

And he said “ Hell yea, I’am tonight !

Then he is walking in, Memphis !

Walking in ten times better than Bale

Walking in Memphis !

Nice and short version:

Walking in, Memphis !

LVG will you watch down over him ?

Walking in, Memphis !

Are you a red child ?

Hell yea, he is tonight !

Walking in, Memphis !

Walking in ten times better than Bale

Walking in Memphis !

If only I was right about Strootman when he left, would've been a perfect fit..

This 'last minute scoop' stuff sounds like total bollocks from the press. I highly doubt we were so flaky about this transfer. Think it's been decided for a long time. Memphis was just doing the sensible thing and seeing what the other clubs had to offer.

Doubt it, Dutch clubs don't lie. We've contacted PSV a while ago that we wanted to be informed about what's happening. He visitted PSG and Liverpool, PSV already accepted the offer from PSG before we contacted PSV and completed the deal within 48 hours. Memphis and his agent had freedom to talk to any club, PSV were willing to sell him to any club which would pay the fee.

Dutch clubs don't play hardball, van Gaal can complete a transfer quickly with them. Similar with Blind and Ajax, it was done in no time.

Amazing how decent Dutch clubs are to deal with. Sort of anti-Levy. Surely they could get more money for their players though. What do you think of the gentlemanly approach?

Any other gems in the eredivisie we should pick up, Memphis ? Uhm I mean NL Max

Not really, our league is getting younger each year. Alot of the talents will be better off staying put another couple of years. None are ready yet for a step up for the positions we need strengthening. Bazoer is the only one talented enough for a position we'd need (box-to-box) but he only made his debut this year for Ajax.

Whats encouraging is that his strike rate in the Europa League has been just as impressive this season. He should be a brilliant player for us.

Do Dutch clubs have some sort of agreements in place with the player over the fee they'll allow them to leave for? Why do they not try to squeeze every penny out of the buying club in Levy-esque fashion?

Because the Dutch are lovely people and levy is a prick

The only lure the Eredivise still has is gametime and the fact we tactically educate youngsters well. Dutch clubs go bankrupt if they've got a debt of 100k and the wages we offer are ridiculously low compared to other leagues. Alot of smaller clubs have fake grass pitches because it's cheaper and that also puts off bigger names.

PSV bought Maher (at the time arguably the biggest talent in the country) for around 10m Euro - they got so much criticism for being a 'buying club' after that. 32m Euro is alot of money for a Dutch club they just can't say no. If clubs would play hardball our lure to attract top youngsters (to sell on with profit - that's just how it is) we'd lose even more players to other leagues. We can just about survive the current way and hope that we keep educating young players who do well across the border so we can get more good young players in who want gametime here.

Makes sense. Hopefully the same reasoning starts to bite Levy in the arse.

Its all about $$ . Rooney earns more a month , then Depay earns a year in Holland .

The average player in the Dutch Eredivisie earns between 150000 and 175000 pounds a year .

Poor things, how they manage to pay the bills at the end of the month is beyond me !

Put it this way...Could you imagine Depay coming out and saying 'I joined Utd because of Moyes'?.....Would he feck......You could Imagine Scott Brown and Shaun Maloney coming out and saying 'I joined Utd because of Moyes' ...but you'd never get a player like Memphis Depay saying that

I hope this guy will be a superstar for us. We have bought him coming off a great season with PSV for £20 odd million at a young age, and he could easily go down the route of Hazard and become a PL beast.

Of course this is no guarantee, but under the right guidance he could be our next superstar. So excited for this and the best bit of business that Woodward has done by far (in terms of value for quality).

Nice to see how everyone in Holland is wishing him good luck and it's all positive.

Thing with depay is he is a very Strong for a winger compared to players like Januzaj and di Maria that could be knocked over by a fart. Oh my Muppet mode is fully on now.

Really excited about this one - I really like him (from what I've seen).

Just the kind of player we need to be signing!

Song for the rest of the season?

Oh Oh Oh it's Memphis
we've signed.
Now bring us Hummels and Clyne.
It's memphis,
we know.
How about our Ronaldo?
