On the subject of Depay living the good life. Here's his penthouse in Eindhoven that has been for sale since january. Not bad for a 21 year old: http://www.bivastgoed.nl/4-b7d3-136...pe=RESIDENTIAL&ForSaleOrRent=FOR_SALE&Take=10

I've been to Manchester and its a nice city.

As for Paris I heard its not so good to live in it. Its more beautiful of course and all but you go there for 5, 10 days, see Eiffel tower and shit and that's that. :D

Paris is obviously a more attractive destination for anyone, let alone a flashy young lad. Hopefully he doesn't want to waste his career by going and playing in a shite league though.

The vast majority of players live in Cheshire anyway. Pretty little villages populated by millionaires. Go to Knutsford town centre and you will happen across a McLaren dealership. It isn't exactly the definition of slumming it.

Never been in Manchester, but Paris isn't that great and the weather is shit. Barcelona on the other hand is awesome.

I think all the romance of Manchester has been stolen by OT. My personal opinion is Paris trumps Manchester on every level as a place to live but I accept some people may choose Manchester :)

In the areas close to me you've got Ferrari, Aston Martin, McLaren, Porsche, Bentley, and a bunch of independents selling similar. Oh and Lamborghini.

Not to mention the houses in the likes of Alderley or Prestbury.

To be fair there are few cities in the world that can compete with Paris.

In my opinion in France alone Lyon and Nice are nicer than Paris, transportation is better, cheaper, the architecture is more or less the same, the weather is better. Now life in France is pretty good, so if peoples only visit Paris they might think that it's awesome but compared to other cities in France, Paris isn't the best place.

When I went, Paris was like rundown London. The tourist bits were lovely, but venture out of those spots and honestly, they weren't much different to certain places in the North of UK.

Manchester is isn't London, Paris or New York but it isn't Donesk either. It is a very nice area to be around, especially if you are rich.

From what I've heard, Paris isn't even in the tier of city of a London or New York anyway.

Probably is better than Manchester, but from people I've spoken to it's not really a big improvement, if any.

Any player who chooses PSG over United is not right for us anyway. We need strong characters who make intelligent decisions and know their own mind.

That's a good point, and likewise any player who chooses a London club over us for lifestyle reasons.

If Depay decides to join PSG or Liverpool then I hope the fecking cnut bag fecking @£*&!£*^! up his fecking @&*!!$& &£*^! and &!**^*$@!&@! cheese toastie.

But if he decides to join us then "Welcome to Manchester, Memphis!"

He has a cool name that's for sure.
The variety in Dutch players names is immense. There are very few players with the same name that I remember - Khalid, Tim, Marc, Jasper, Gregory, Arjen, Klaas-Jan, Ruud, Frank, Ronald, Memphis, Giovanni, Pierre, Winston, Aron, Jimmy Floyd, Stijn, Ismail, Ibrahim, Nigel, Demy, Georgino, Luuk, Luciano, Guus, Louis, Eljero, Jordy, Virgil, Jaap, Karim, Ron, Bruno, Michel, Terence, Patrick, Rafael, Marco, Jeremain, Dirk, Robin, Luc, Leroy, Jeroen, Kew, Danny, Philip, Andre, Hedwiges, John, Arthur, Boudewijn, Patrick, Ryan, Henk, Marteen, Jan, Clarence. That's more than 50 different names of footballers I can get from the top of my head. I could probably do 25-30 more easily.

Because many of those names don't have Dutch origin. Like Memphis. We're a fairly multicultural country.

Yeah, I can tell. It's really weird seeing a team that has no two players with the same name, maybe it's just my impression though.

What's the most common name in Netherlands?

Don't know exactly. But looking at a list now of most popular baby names from 2014 for boys, names like Daan, Bram, Luuk, Tim, Thomas, Thijs, Ruben, Lars, Stijn, Siem, Gijs etc. are at the top of the list still, while also being names that have been around and popular for a long time already. However, these are mostly names for males with a Dutch white background, as they are the majority they're most common.

Basically THIS!

Hope so.

Havent kept track, just know his name is doing circles. I reckon he's a good player? :)

I haven't really watched him that much myself, but read and seen enough that I want him.

Thanks mate - this summary is much appreciated!

However some concerns remain:

-) Can only play left winger --> What about AdM? I would see him as well on this position in the long run. I hoped Depay could play as second choice striker as well.
-) Backtracking --> In the PL there is no place for players not willing to defend/track back as well.
-) The playing style in the PL is faster so that wingers should be able to make running crosses with their left foot if played on the left wing. Cutting inside is nice but he will have less time to execute his actions than he has in the Eredivisie.
-) Based on the WC and the snippets I have seen him playing for PSV he tries quite often to beat the defenders using some of his tricks and fails too often for my taste. However, I think LvG will tell him if he has the same opinion.

-Van Gaal likes inverted wingers, Di Maria will probably play on the right. We already see Young (a right footer) on the left. Memphis' maybe could maybe play a different role, but he has never done it. He played RW years ago and wasn't great.
-He doesn't have to track back at PSV as much since he's the star. In the important matches he does it though, he's not lazy. Did very well vs Carvajal and Hulk.
-He can do this.
-If you've followed him he's nowhere near as adventurous as he was. He's trying to pick his moments, he can still improve on it.

Question for @NL Max - what's his ability on the ball like, particularly in tight spaces? Is he like bale, who is quite limited in tight spaces (but obviously excellent in other areas) or is he genuinely very good in this aspect?

PSV play on the counter, he's a great asset for them. He's more like Bale but he does have tricks for tight spaces, he's better with a bit more though.

@FC Ronaldo
Haha you're right, I see Hazard as a future star and Ronaldo as one - if Memphis reaches any of those 2 heights I'll be delighted!

Ha! Manchester is shit, let's be honest. Bereft of any culture, too. Manchester's nightlife is horrendous - full of bald, tight-T-shirted wankers looking for a fight. As for restaurants, you can pick between formulaic Italian restaurant #1, #2 or #3.

There is literally no contest between Manchester and Paris - Paris wins in just about every aspect of what you'd measure a city on.

That's basically true. Although what Paris lacks is nice suburbs. If you're into city living it's a no brainer. If you fancy a nice big house in the countryside then Manchester might have the edge.

Depay doesn't look like the rural type, mind you.
