If we can get this transfer done by the end of the season then Woody and LVG would have great work.

Some balance

We're always confident but I can't remember the last time we signed a high profile player beating off several club, just is not going to happen unless we show some initiative and grab it by the balls.

Very kinky policy they have there at Pool.

Strange negotiation technique.

You can pull as hard as you want on your willy but you still aint getting close to Memphis.

You had a top 3 signing of the decade (from another league) to be fair.

I know Memphis Depay's attributes and style extremely well, but there will be inevitable ''so is this guy any good'' questions on a daily basis for newcomers in this thread.

There should be threadmarks of past @NL Max analysises of the player and situation.

Nailed it. Analyses.

I agree though.

He was damaged goods, we havent shown any willingness to compete and go for the best players, its all just looking for potential and triggering release clauses, we tiptoe around the best and as soon as one of the big boys enters the fray we pull up our zipper and leave with our tail between our legs.

Hasn't that been your policy for about 20 years now? i mean you won the CL with Djimi Traore,Baros,Finnan,Vladimir Smicer,JOSEMI (whoever the feck that is), Biscan and Nunez.

Aye but we bought Torress amidst some serious competiton albeit he's the only one that springs to mind.

His dribbling seems extremely erratic, never looks to have full control over the ball. At least we won't get the "needs to bulk up" comments though.

He's the kind of player you might want to take a punt on at £7M, as Spurs did with Chadli (fail). Not Depaying way over the odds at £25M.
Agreed, it's like Arsenal with Ozil, they paid way over the odds for him shouldn't have paid a penny over £22m for him. Same with Welbeck, he's the type of player you take a £7m punt on.

Ozil's been the best player in the league since Xmas, if you're looking for 'paid way over the odds' I'd stop closer to home with Di Maria. Welbeck cost less than Falcao's loan fee, guess who did better out of those transactions?

He hasn't even been Arsenal's, man.

Pete is, of course, going over the top as usual to get maximum effect from you lot but what's true is that 25mil for Depay is definitely a risk.

That being said, van Gaal is in the best possible position to know if it's a risk worth taking. I'm sure he knows his game inside and out.
