Will we have the same reaction when he inevitably announces negative news? :smirk:

I can’t remember what happened once Ser broke the story about Thiago going to Bayern. Think I went off the rails for a week in real life.

 That saga ruined me too, have been reluctant to go full blown muppet since. The De Gea ball message, only to be let down. Ruined me.

I absolutely made a dick of myself by fully believing that it was a done deal after ‘Vamos en Manchester’. I preached to all my Chelsea supporting mates how he was going to destroy it for us. Needless to say, they still laugh at me for it.

Who can forget Sneijder? Apart from winning trophies and beating Liverpool at Anfield, amazing transfer sagas come 3rd in the excitement department.

Was having the first pissup I've had with my uncles in a long time when it came through we might be in for De Ligt.

If we get him, all is forgiven, Woody.

Watch it go down tomorrow when Barca announce they signing him. Or even worse Liverpool or City.

That would be the worst case scenario. My boss is a casual Liverpool fan who openly admits that he stopped supporting Liverpool when Rafa was in charge. (Recon he missed quite a bit) He was banging on about how van Dijk and De Ligt could be partners for a decade for club and country..(absolutely not taking van dijk’s age into consideration) Once I told him that Liverpool cooled their interest, it suddenly became questionable if De Ligt was better than Gomez. I love De Ligt and I think he’s going to be something else, but can you imagine him playing for that lot? I’d rather watch him for Barca, Juve, Bayern or even City. Watching him for United would be a dream come true. I think I’d just fecking be done with football and quit my job which I love if De Ligt went to those bastards.

I love how people just love to shit on United. I mean, despite our woeful performance on the pitch, we’re still an incredible proposition, especially when we’re blowing teams like Barca out of the water in terms of financial package. It’s not as if we’re Chelsea or Man City starting out.

Our problem is financially we can't compete. Sounds crazy but the markets destroyed by greed and by more greed.

Its pretty clear that Barca were in for him, maybe thought they had it over the line, but Ajax did better than them in the CL and Raiola saw an opportunity to ask for more money for his player (and himself). Barca, who already have a ludicrous wage bill, stick to their original offer, opening up the door for other clubs. Its realistic to expect that Woodward throws down a massive offer that no other club can come close to. Its what he does. So the player is in a quandary, Barca low balling him and trying to rely on De Jong and their club reputation to make him forget about all that extra cash, or join United who seem to value him more, in a league and language he apparently prefers, that his agent would be pushing for, and is Manchester United, the world's biggest club.

Done dealio.

I’m sorry but what? How did you come to that conclusion? Our incredible financial prowess is the only thing that’s keeping our head above the water.

Got a permanent mental scar from that, nothing will ever top that saga. Pep's press conference felt like he had just announced that my family died and that I also was fired.

Vidal's was fun at times too. People here served up an in-depth report on Chilean local media. So basing this whole saga so far only on Reddit is a bit 'meh'.

Ffs

keep telling myself its not gonna happen but there's always that 0.01% that antibacterials can't kill

Haha, I love this quote.

I watched from the sidelines when we tried to get Thiago. Was refreshing the Pogba thread every other minute (only holiday for part of that saga and almost got divorced over time spent checking my phone).
I just know it's not happening but.....

 Even after the presser you had people in denial suggesting that he would still join us.

The bookies still have De Ligt odds on to join Barca and us as outsiders! I'm more inclined to believe bookies as a more realistic guide than some Spoof guy! Sorry muppets

Too late for me I'm afraid. It's like entering a black hole and passing the event horizon. Not even light is escaping now.

One muppet flew too close to the sun.

That was a masochistically (is that a word?) brilliant summer! We also had Bale bids. Fabregas. And who can forget King Jonno ITK saying Ronaldo was going back to United. It was something.
