Whether the sources are accurate or it is a complete fabrication its still worth remembering that anything can happen with transfers so treat everything with scepticism. Shit we've had Moura drop out the week of his medical for a better offer, Griezmann change his mind due to a transfer ban. . We even signed a player (obi mikel) and he didn't join in the end..

I feel bad when good journos get hammered when things fall through, even though they were right up to that point.
Spot on. Things change and one side of negotiations may think something is happening which may not actually happen. People at United genuinely thought we had Griezzman, he changed his mind. That doesn't make everyone on United's side a liar. These things happen in every business every day.

Unfortunately, there are so many journalists and others who do make up shit that the genuine get lumped in too when things don't all inevitably go to plan.

laughing at "van der sar has accepted the 85m offer"

What's more likely, A) Ajax has completely changed their organisational structure and division of responsibilities within the club etc for this one transfer or B) Overmars is in charge of all transfer dealings, as always, with a board of directors (of which vds is not one) that have to approve his decisions, and a fake reddit ITK is not familiar enough with other clubs for his fabrications on that front to be accurate?
Ya we get it lad, he's not coming. Ignore the muppets, they just need something to get the juices flowing.

You mean internet poster Spoofex may not be entirely trustworthy? Well now I don't know who to believe.

 something about that phrase just tickles me

Very good point. That Mikel transfer...my god could you imagine if that happened today with Twitter and Reddit and all. Then there was Robben - didn't Kenyon hijack that one late from us?

Griezman I also felt was purely down to the transfer ban and him trying to be a good human, but coming off as a knob.

With De Ligt, I see all his Instagram action as a sign that he's trying convince himself this is a good move. So quick - hide all the evidence of our terrible seven seasons except for the big wins and positive highlights!

Imagine the flight trackers meltdown on this one:

He [Ledezma] was scouted by Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam and after that, invited for a trial by their big rivals Feyenoord. But Ajax signed him in 1997 for around 4.5 million euros in spectacular fashion after 'kidnapping' him from Amsterdam Airport under Feyenoord's nose

 what! That happened?!

The story goes that Feyenoord were waiting for him at arrivals and Ajax hijacked him as he got off the plane itself

would have been a better story had the player in question not turned out an absolute flop at Ajax

Someone commented on twitter than if United sign De Ligt with a shit poor structure at boardroom level, an inexperienced manager and backroom staff, no champions league football and in an absolute mess in terms of playing staff, you got to put us as the best club in the world. No fecker could pull that off.
This is probably what Woodward meant when he made that "watch this space" proclamation.

Browsing through the Barca forum concerning De Ligt is quite funny.:D
They'll still likely end up signing the young Dutchman so I dont know why so many of them are losing their minds.

Few of them sound so salty, losing their minds over tweets from fake accounts. Makes it even funnier when they're probably still the most likely destination. They're right though, we are shit. Where they're wrong is that the money we are offering shows our ambition to players. We have gotten it wrong, but with the wide-scale changes we are apparently making and the money we are still willing to spend, it shows we are desperate to get back to the top. Signings like De Ligt is a huge step in that direction.

keep telling myself its not gonna happen but there's always that 0.01% that antibacterials can't kill

Shoulda used that cash to help us pile more onto De Ligt ffs.

Damn. I’ve majorly dropped the ball there :(

Likely not as advanced a stage of your house buying. Even if today was your first viewing.

Ahh come on man, I feel it in my feelings that this is definitely going to come off. I definitely have a feeling.
