Between Koulibaly at 100mm Euros + and De Ligt at 70-80mm this is a no fecking brainer.
No slight on Koulibaly, but he'd be ideal if he was the final missing piece in the team. If we had 6-7 world class players and needed a world class defender to challenge for the PL and CL next season, then we should go for the Napoli man.
As it is, we have 1-2 world class players, and have to rebuild over 3-4 transfer windows. Hopefully De Ligt (who's not the finished article) will be part of that rebuild, and we can hit optimal performance in 2-3 seasons.
