The other poster said that Monaco had an agreement at 80m but that Madrid refused to match his wage demands. That part is wrong, Monaco didn't accept any offer and weirdly enough it seems that even the PSG deal wasn't formalized.
 
How good is he? How big is the risk for the team who pay up? I've only seen him playing in Champions League where a few matches were against good opposition. Think he was good in all matches except his meltdown against Tottenham. But for me, I have seen him way too few matches to say he is definitely worth the money mentioned here. Also, I saw someone writing he would be a game changer for United. I doubt that. Maybe part of a new fantastic team, but I don't think buying him will solve all problems.

At best he will be one of the first key components of a crucial and hugely challenging re-build that will take years to complete. Also the demands on him personally cannot be overstated. He's moving to a league where he will be under far greater pressure then he is currently and is therefore very likely to take quite some time to settle.

Massive fan of Godfrey. Seen him live a bit and I’m convinced he’ll make it to the top. He’s not ready yet though. If he’s brought in to be CB #3 then I’d be all over it, but he’s not in a position to start for us yet.

Barcelona can't afford De Jong, De Ligt and Griezmann in one window. Just saying, one of those two will end up with us instead. Muppet heaven if both.

Sneijder was better. It was peak Caf. Flight trackers, sighting's at the airport, Fergie ranting at a journo on a pre-season tour for using his name as the source on an article saying United we're in for him, to which the paper then removed his name to 'a source close to the club tells us'. What a time to be alive.

That's what I mean, they can't get Griezmann and De Ligt after already spending a shit load of cash on De Jong.

They both would improve us drastically so I'd take them, I just hope Solskjær puts his foot down about the clowning around outside of playing for United and how it makes them and the club look to normal people.

De Ligt for me.... I've watched half a YouTube video and bits of the ITV Champions League highlights so am now an expert.

Not joined the ‘Muppet bandwagon’ just yet as I still think he is going to end up at Barcelona. Would of course loved to be proven wrong and we get him.

He’s the perfect CB we require right now. A proper leader.

Get him, pay the £25M release clause for Toby Alderweireld, promote Axel Tuanzebe and move on Rojo, Smalling, Jones & Bailly.

I wonder if Barca might do a "Mbappe-deal" for De Ligt and loan him for next season for a hefty fee and then conclude the transfer itself the next summer when they might have some more wiggle room for transfers. If De Ligt really wants Barcelona its one way he and Ajax can get what they want.

Yeah, that’s not a bad should. Would certainly fall within my theory there needs to be shenanigans in order for Barcelona to afford to sign him.

He is liking the fact that he will be playing in the competition again with us. Something the likes of Barca and Ajax can't offer him right now, must love his Thursday night's him. :D
