Liverpool have more chances to sign him than us. That is depressing. First time in last 20,25 years i see that player will pick them instead of us.

According to reports De Ligt is pretty hungry...Don’t moan. We changing our philosophy.. getting players like James who are hungry. De Ligt wouldn’t be. Let him go Liverpool for the money.

I’ll get my coat.
Do you think that is what you really need, considering Matip has been pretty damn solid and Gomez is one of the best young CBs out there - although he seems to be a tad unlucky with injuries. My dream signing this offseason, alongside a proper #10. We don't need that many additions so I want the ones we get to be spot on.
Don't think it'll happen though, looks Barça bound although I do think he'd be perfectly suited to the PL.
Granted, it wouldn't be the worst if we don't get a CB in, and if not De Ligt I'm not even sure I want one. But he's too good (and young) to pass up on if the slightest possibility exists that he wants to join us. If we want to challenge with City, we don't need "pretty damn solid" but rather "world class". Sadly, Gomez can't really be depended upon for now.Do you think that is what you really need, considering Matip has been pretty damn solid and Gomez is one of the best young CBs out there - although he seems to be a tad unlucky with injuries.
Would you take Coutinho back if Barca offered him?Granted, it wouldn't be the worst if we don't get a CB in, and if not De Ligt I'm not even sure I want one. We don't need reinforcements for GK, one CB position and both of our fullbacks (except maybe back-ups). Don't need reinforcements at CDM or any of our 3 forward positions (again, maybe some low-key backups could be brought in). That only leaves the C(A)M and other CB position where we could significantly upgrade our first XI.
If we were to bring in De Ligt, a high profile CAM in the mould of Coutinho/Fékir and a few backups (ST, RB, LB), we would've had a brilliant summer as far as I'm concerned.
Hypothetically speaking - yes if the price is right, although he'd need to be our most advanced CM rather than a left attacker like he used to be for us, not sure he'd cut it in that position.Would you take Coutinho back if Barca offered him?
I actually think we wouldn't be as far down this list as people expect, but there are definitely five or six teams I would expect him to choose over us if they meet his agents demands and whatnot. Namely Barcelona, Real Madrid, Man City, Liverpool, and Juventus. I think we'd be at least as attractive as Bayern, PSG, and Tottenham though, despite no CL football. Regardless, we're not signing him but I think that's an accurate estimation. He’s the Mbappé of defenders (if that as a comparison makes any sense at all???), there’s a long list of clubs that’ll be interested, and I’m sure we’re on it, but we’ll be way way way down low on the list of clubs he’ll be interested in going to.
He’ll go to Barca, City, Liverpool or Juve.
Assuming it would be Lovren out, De Ligt in, to supplement Van Dijk, Matip and Gomez, they’d have 4 centre-backs who’d be our best centre-back. Horrible thought.God it sends shivers down my spine imagining a VVD and De Ligt pairing, while we go into yet another season with the chuckle brothers and co at the back.
And that's the point.They most certainly don't.
De Ligt?I hope he doesnt go to Pool or City, not sure how much game time he would get at Pool, City.
Im looking Juventus but feeling Barcelona.
Rumours on Dutch media that Barcelona are scared he will chose Liverpool over them.

It's speculative and hardly facts though. It's in Dutch mind.
In our "media watch" section next to messages that we're linked with Maxi Gomez, Julian Brandt and Domenico Berardi, with the source provided and this huge disclaimer at the end of each article:Het nieuws van El Mundo Deportivo is opvallend genoeg ook gepubliceerd op de officiële website van Liverpool, al nemen Engelse clubs wel vaker geruchten uit de media over.
Great bit of journalismThis story has been reproduced from the media. It does not necessarily represent the position of Liverpool Football Club.
De Ligt?
Huh? He'd start at both clubs. With VVD and Laporte respectively. I suspect City are going for him without kuch hooplah in the media and will get him.I hope he doesnt go to Pool or City, not sure how much game time he would get at Pool, City.

I think he's a cert to go to Barca, I really do. I think his people are leaking other teams interest to get more out of Barca.
He’s a bit suspect defensively IMO. It’s the reason Klopp didn’t trust him at Camp Nou. Not even the best full-back at Liverpool. Great going forward obviously.Imo Trent Alexander Arnold is the Mbappe of defenders
Sounds like our regular routine. We'll have to overpay by about 25 million as well of course.Woul love him at Anfield, hopefully Klopp is arranging a weekend in Blackpool as we speak so we can tap him up, apologise to Ajax, tell them we're not interested and sign him in January
Of course but with our record of sales figures, we won't be far short.Sounds like our regular routine. We'll have to overpay by about 25 million as well of course.
I'm just not sure he'll want the kind of rotation he'd be getting at Pool or City. Barca is perfect because Pique is pretty much gone, Juve as well because of the age of Bonucci and Chiellini.Of course but with our record of sales figures, we won't be far short.
Ibe to Bournemouth - £15m
Sakho to Palace - £25m
Benetke to Palace - £30m
In all seriousness, I cant see us getting De Ligt but if we can get him, he'd line up alongside VVD and take over from him in 5/6 years time when VVD retires. Our CB's could be sorted for a decade with him coming in
He'd be starting at Anfield. Gomez would be back up for Trent and Lovren/Matip back up for De Ligt.I'm just not sure he'll want the kind of rotation he'd be getting at Pool or City. Barca is perfect because Pique is pretty much gone, Juve as well because of the age of Bonucci and Chiellini.
I don't doubt it, but he'd still be rotating more than the other clubs, and would have a good shot of being captain within a season or 2. That's not the case with Pool. He'd be starting at Anfield. Gomez would be back up for Trent and Lovren/Matip back up for De Ligt.
