I don't beieve he could end up in PSG. He wants PL he is young, he can be captain here and be more "on the screen". Yes we are not in CL next year but that can change. He can have both money and playtime here. So I predict he ends up here. The other negotiations are just mindgames from Raiola. Barcelona was the only realistic alternative to us.

Raiola has had a long relationship with Juve.

I would wager my house that he doesn’t sign for us.

Raiola is also his official agent. Hulshof actually much less now, he acts more like an advisor and mental coach. Hulshof has basically no experience dealing with transfer and contract negotiations at this level, that's why De Ligt took on Raiola. What I know about De Ligt, he'll prioritise his development and ambitions over money, but will use Raiola to get the best deal possible in that regard.

Raiola will only let us have de Ligt if we let Pogba leave for Madrid.

Like we only got Pogba from Juve by agreeing to take Mikhitarayan as well.

Both of those transfers went well, didn't they....

Completely fed up of these kind of transfers.

Pick a club you want to play for and sign.

He's coming to us!

:D

It was a wind up

Really funny one though to be fair. Got everyone hook line and sinker
I went on the Reddit's muppet thread and honestly it cheered me up. I pissed myself laughing. The replies in there is super funny.

How anyone can begrudge our fans having a bit of fun. I'm sure they're realistic but just want something other than the constant negativity imho.

Honestly if the lad wants a challenge he should come to us. There is no greater challenge than playing for United at the moment. The pressure is immense.

He should challenge himself to see if he really is as tough as he thinks. Could be the making of the lad:)

Barcelona can’t afford him this window so essentially whoever signs him is getting him on a 1-2 year loan before he goes to Barcelona which has been his preferred destination all along. Raiola is happy because this gets him 2 huge pay days at least.

If he’s smart he comes here or to Juventus because both will gleefully take the money when it’s time to go. PSG definitely won’t and Bayern isn’t the easiest to negotiate with either.

Stick him on a 5 plus 1 year contract and provided Barcelona stump up the money I couldn’t give a dam!

Doesn’t fancy me as the type that wants a spineless and aimless team like PSG. At the same time not the type to want to get used to losing at United

Yesterday was meeting between Nedved and Raiola in Monte Carlo where Nedved (his agent during whole of his football career was Raiola) presented offer that Juventus bring both of Pogba and de Ligt this summer. So I would not be suprised that Raiola promised Juventus both of this players if they have enough money for good offers for his clients and football clubs where they have played (Ajax and Manchester United).

Same clubs that Ballague said.

I don't think much has changed, it was clear he said no to Barca's offer which is thought to be about half of what De Jong is getting. It's probably why Raiola was brought in to try and get Barca to pay more or get a higher wage deal elsewhere, he's become a highly sought after player, his profile has raised since the early negotiations.

There's probably 5-6 clubs ahead of us if we're even in the mix and if for some reason the likes of Bayern, Juve can't guarantee him minutes and they all plan to ease him in then he might even stay another year.

You think Juve have the money to fund both those transfers and sign 3x £300k+ players in 1 summer?

Bookies don't have Juventus even at the races with this one. PSG are favourites but we are a close second and then it is a pretty steep drop off to other potential buyers, I trust the bookies more than the journos here as they cannot afford to be wrong too often.

I never fancied our chances in this one, however I cannot see where he would go currently.

- Barcelona is now out, based on top tier reports.
- Madrid never in, plus Varane and Ramos.
- PSG is currently not his preferred destination based on the last top tier reports. Main problem that it is not a competitive league at all and I don't realise how they promised him playing time. They have Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Kimpembe.
- Bayern have already made expensive signings in defence, however I could see them convincing him if Hummels left. They have the wages. BUT, again not a strong league.
- Juventus seems the most probable one now. Ok, not the strongest league again but they know how to develop defenders. However, question marks about wages and playing time. Bonucci and Chiellini play the whole time right? And they have Rugani as well?
- City, they can offer everything he desires and he would replace Kompany, however we are saved by Raiola vs Guardiola in this one I guess.
- Liverpool, again it would make a lot of sense to play next to Van Dijk and to join a team in the state they are currently. But we are saved cause of wages I believe, plus that they need to spend money in other positions.

Finally us. Don't have to mention anything, I just believe it is a shame that we are this mess. Otherwise he would come here running, we offer everything he needs. He would be a leader. Still, cause of the above we have a good shot.

PS: Yeah I do not think he would stay at Ajax.

Of course I think. Andrea Agnelli is the third wealthiest football club owner in the world, just behind of PSG and Manchester City owners. Last year his and Lapo Elkan company grupation Exxor made profit of almost 2 billions dollars (revenues of their companies were more than 200 billions dollars), and Agnelli announced last year that he will invest much more money in Juventus.

This. How are people even remotely thinking he wants to come to Utd? It was a long shot a while back and things certainly haven't gotten better in the last few weeks.

You can't live on old glory forever. This club is in trouble and I think it's only gonna get worse next season (key players leaving, no new stars incoming). So if you were De Ligt, why the hell would you join United at this point?

It's the hope that's gonna kill me.

Anyways onto the muppet train! Yay

Hes said he wants Champions League football, so that rules us out straight away. PSG or Juve will get him.

hes a Raiola player and he has probably 3 big moves in him

move 1 - Bumper pay packet for him and Mino somewhere like PSG - plays well for 3/4 years

move 2 - the footballing part of his career as he goes to Barca

move 3 - probably end up somewhere like United for one last payoff after winning all his medals

I’ve never believed we are in with any chance at all, but he should have gone to Barca. PSG will not even test him and connections say they don’t want him there. Doubt Juve can afford him with their spending so far. City (Pep) don’t like dealing with Raiola, reputedly. How many are left in the race?

I’m likely to be making 2+2 = 5, but the latest Pogba outburst could well be explained away if we land MDL.

Wouldn’t it make more sense, wage vise, if you swapped United with PSG?
If he goes to PSG first he would probably have to agree on a pay cut somewhere along the line.
Therefore, he’s coming to us, believe!
