Probably was posted more than one hundred times here but feck it. The guy is very open for that kind of interview and doesn't give two faced impressions like Ramos when talking to media recently. Good character.

Yeah, I just added that in (haha). But, even with regards to your point, he seems to have matured, enough. He's been here for a very, very long time (stays for 3 more years and he'll have a testimonial at 27), and illustrated his professionalism in the 12/13 season. However, I don't see why LvG wouldn't give him some guidance (as you say) as he could still go on to be a top right back, here or elsewhere.

Fair enough. I thought he'd tie himself to Belgium in the end, but has gone with Brazil.

Last year, he was very unfortunate with the injuries he kept picking. Heck, there's not much you can do about being smacked in the face by an opposition elbow or having your ribs broken.

I hate those kind of things the media do. Like some random guy talking over Darmian's voice.:mad:

I think it's something to do with them not being EU citizens. I haven't been able to find the exact reason. But I'd guess it's because the FA wanted to limit the influx of foreign talents. They can't limit the freedom of movement within the EU but everyone else is fair game.

It's not just the FA, it applies to all the EU leagues. I just took a quick look at Pato's wiki and here's what it says

"Due to FIFA football regulations regarding non-EU minors, Pato was unable to play-official matches for Milan until 3 January 2008, when the Italian transfer window and registration reopened. Milan, however, were allowed to include the player in friendlies and training beginning 3 September 2007, one day after his 18th birthday. Pato made his non-competitive debut in a 2–2 draw against Dynamo Kyiv on 7 September 2007 and scored a header. On 4 January 2008, Pato's transfer to Milan became official."

One way to bypass this rule is if the player has a second nationality of an EU country, which is the case with Pereira.

The guy interpreting could have at least used an Italian accent, like one of those villains from the old Roger Moore TV show The Saint.
