This forum likes to paint him as a bomb scare but he's always been a competent defender. I felt good about him coming on for Valencia who looked a bit ropey at times.

He's not terrible and does the basic well, he's just of average quality and is occasionally let down by a lack of physical presence.

Hope he is sold in the summer as he will be much better off back in italy

People will bring up Bebe or Dong or even Djemba Djemba but all of those barely played. Darmian has been here 3 years and clocked up over 80 games for Utd.

At least with Bebe you knew he was never really good enough, but he always gave his best.

Darmian just plays at 70%, before the goal he could have shut the winger down outside the box and had an easier attempt at tackling him. Instead he waited until he got inside the box and then had him on toast.

Pogba busted a gut to get on a Sanchez cross only recently. He may appear laconic at times, but when he needs to, he is rapid.

He'll find himself on the bench and will then find his way on the pitch after an injury and subsequent defensive re-shuffle. I'm not convinced we'll ever be rid of him.

This thread was longer than I expected. I've hardly seen him perform anything in three seasons now. Decent at defending, but do not expect him to participate with anything forward. Cause who would want a back contributing forward on the field. Unheard of!
