I think Bayern looking for a loan with obligation as opposed to option kind of takes any shine of the transfer for me. The latter allows us to test drive the goods and really motivates the player to try their best whereas an obligation skews the risk on to the club a lot more.

In his current state Tel is nowhere near Garnacho or Zirkzee. The idea that he can somehow raise our current level is ridiculous. This is a talented kid who is severely struggling to find his feet at a big club and who clearly needs a couple of seasons regularly playing in a low pressure environment in order to develop.
We are the very opposite of a low pressure environment, as visible by the expectations in this thread that couldn't be more misguided.
The same people who now claim he can usurp our whole attack and replace Rashford will be tearing into the player after a month. Because they're fecking clueless, looking at stat apps while not even feeding it the correct data.

I think he’s going to take Garnacho’s place before the end of the season. I’d say he’s a better fit. Once we have the left wingback up to speed that is.

Exactly my thoughts as well. I do not think Tel and United would work out for either side.
Tel needs a stable club with a calm environment where he gets playtime without being expected to perform miracles, somewhere he can find himself and gain confidence without all that desperate need to prove himself that he currently oozes and which makes him worse, not better. United needs somebody who can come in and perform on a position, not someone who is at the low point of their form curve and doesn't have a proper position.
