Mathys Tel | on his way to SPURS. He’s going to Spurs lads. SPURS

Thank God it looks like we've learnt. I remember us paying like £5m for a 6 month loan for that random striker we signed under Ole and the crazy amount we spent on Amrabat.

This is genuinely nuts, he's got 0 goals in 14 matches. What on earth are spurs thinking?!

That he just might still score more goals than Timo Werner.

Talksport, a highly reputable source I'm sure you'll agree.

Even then they reported €8m, which is £6.6m but we don't care for exchange rates so we just put a £ in front of it, all the same.
imagine trying to justify paying £10m for a 3.5 month loan deal.

Really? How many strikers do they need?!

Just googled it and they currently have:

Dries Mertens
Victor Osimhen
Mauro Icardi (out for the season with an ACL)
Álvaro Morata
Michy Batshuayi

Wasn't aware they got Morata on loan, didn't think Milan would let him leave. That should probably have been a move United tried to make.

So Spurs acted in more desperation than us, but we're in a similar league position.

We should've just gave Bayern the obligation to buy clause for the summer.

really surprised you guys think £8m loan fee is steep
Not for a year, but these few months left in the season? Certainly.

Only if that rumour turns out to be true, of course.

So, do we reckon Tel finishes the PL season with more goals than any of our forwards?

Yes, should do - he just needs to score 4 goals to usurp both Hojlund and Zirkzee. Spurs, for all their troubles this season, are still the joint-3rd highest scorers in the league, so you'd expect Tel to beat our two strikers, even with only a few months to go.

Yeah feck that noise. Loan fees never made much sense to me anyway, unless they’re a down payment on a permanent deal or something.

5m for half a season. Bit steep that but we’ve probably made that back by loaning Antony and Rashford out for the remainder of the season.

And we can use it on a permanent transfer in the summer.

Why? That is exaclty what has led to this situation. We can longer afford to take these expensive punts.

I don't understand why United are coming out with the line of us not wanting to do it because there wasn't a option or obligation in the loan deal for us, they literally agreed to sell him to Spurs.

Dodged a bullet on this one. We have enough players who need development. We need a few ready made to go in and perform straight away this summer.

Hasn’t he scored zero goals in a weaker league than the prem, and not even been playing as a striker?

We have our own non-scoring young strikers we can develop.

This season he hasn't scored, yeah.

He had a good goals/min ratio last season, but he's at like 12 career goals
