We have no CL, finished 6th in the PL and have started so badly this season that we're currently something like 39/5 to finish in the top four this season.
There are a lot of players not starting for better teams who are good enough for us right now.

No attacker has stood out at a Simeone side since Griezmann first time round. Felix is the closest and even then you’d hardly say there aren’t massive question marks still. Not really an environment where I’d be comfortable judging at least.

Atleti had a lot of attacking options with Carrasco, Correa, Suarez, Griezmann, Lemar, Cunha and Felix for the winger/attacking positions so he'd obviously not get to a play a lot. This year they've lost Suarez but brought back Morata so his minutes would be limited again. He was pretty good whenever he did play though so this would be a good signing. Hopefully we can also try and sneak Ronaldo into this deal.
I wouldn't mind a Firmino type (Firmino at his best, not these past few years) but that type only works when you have insane goal output elsewhere like Liverpool did with Mane and Salah. We have Rashford and Sancho
He played for Hertha and Atletico in the bigger leagues. Hertha are a disaster of a football club for years now, like a worse version of Everton. And Atletico are super defensive, with Simeone trusting his regular soldiers.

23-year-old attacker featuring in most games for Atletico (albeit often from the bench) and in the Brazil squad. Hard to see how you could get much lower than 40 million pounds. This is certainly more exciting than the other names we've been linked with.
