Has a bad attitude unless Simeone has fixed that at Atletico.

yup. but I also didn't follow him at Atletico. I'm actually shocked at those pressing stats. don't remember him as a hard worker off the ball.
are we sure it's not simeone's system?

6 goals and 4 assists in 1100~ minutes which is about 11 full games is pretty good. But €50m for a guy who didn’t start more than 8 La Liga matches is a bit much…

We've had Arnautovic, Vardy, RDT - this guy is better than any of them and actually offers us something for the future. Yes feckin please.
Pretty much my thoughts on the matter. The right sort of panic buy imo.

I hope the price is an estimate but good young players do cost a fortune nowadays. Especially when they've been capped by the bigger federations

His teammate Felix went for 120m as a teenager

Bad attitude? Anyone else concerned that a number of rumoured targets have questions over their attitude? Seems like the last thing we need.

Going off stats for a player that played for defensive Atletico isn’t the best way to judge a player. He’s a talented player, who could be very good in the right system

Of course we need him, we barely have any forwards
Doesn't mean we need him, this guy is taking us nowhere. He'll have more use than the guys that currently stink it up, fair enough.

It's 'Talksport sources' rather than just guff from Talksport. Anything they've posted referencing Talksport sources seems to have been fairly reliable.
As long as it isn't Talksp0rt, I'll take it

And Sancho. And Martial.
Pretty much yeah. But I can see him linking well with those around him. He has good technique and strength and is high intensity. Pretty much everything our forwards aren’t right now.

Does he at least have good technical ability? Able to hold up the ball, link up, and bring others into play?

He's very direct and more of a runner than a passer but his technique is decent. Think Richarlison or maybe Luis Suarez (perhaps with a little bit of Diego Costa thrown in).

The fee sounds right to me even if a small overpay.

Atletico signed him in 2021 for £23m and he has 4 years of his contract left.

His value in transfermarkt is £29m

The rumoured fee is £42m. Not sure what the structure might be.

Manchester United wants Matheus Cunha, but Atlético is asking for more than 50 million. In addition, the Brazilian is very comfortable in Madrid. Nothing advanced. :nervous:

And Sancho. And Martial.

looks like the type of player Arsenal would have signed when they were good, which is not a bad thing.

Been lurking a long time here, had to sign up and post after my mrs sent me a text to tell me to stop chuckling like a psychopath because I’d wake the baby. I’d just read the comment about having enough time to get excited with this potential transfer gave me a chuckle tonight

Never heard of him, so can't comment much. Only thing I would say is press don't have a clue what we are doing if we are actually in for this signing.

Don't like this one bit! If he came for 15-20 I would be pleased but 6 goals in 29 la liga apps and 14 in 74 in bundesliga is no 50 mill worth!!

He has been at Athletico for 1 year. Alarm bells should be ringing if they are willing to let him go already.

He came on in the 87th min at the weekend with the game decided.

Last season, he played 29 La Liga games. 21 as a sub. Started 8 games and was brought off in each.

HE HAS NOT PLAYED ONE FULL GAME IN LA LIGA !

That escalated quickly. Finally a young promising striker. When was the last time we signed a striker under 30?

Did a quick YouTube vid look. I'd rather Morata. Seems like another inside forward left winger. Hard worker though which would be nice. Doesn't seem like a striker to me. Doesn't seem like a link up guy at all. Doesn't seem like a hold up guy at all. Doesn't seem to be an aerial threat at all.

50m? Does not make sense. He isn't even a starter for them is he?

I’m assuming it makes more sense if they go for a swap deal with Ronaldo. Would it not be similar to that deal Barca did with the Pjanic/Arthur swap where they inflated the values and used it for la liga FFP purposes.

Aren’t a lot of Spanish clubs currently suffering with FFP.
