That's ridiculous, if it was our player for similar we would have been taken to the cleaners.

Just read the FA's report of the incident and their investigation. It's an absolute joke. Cunha basically saying he felt surrounded and threatened by the ITFC staff but the commission has said they don't agree with him as from the video evidence there was no provocative actions from the ITFC staff. However he said sorry and offered to buy his victim and new pair of glasses so the FA have reduced it from a three game ban to a two game ban.

Fecking bonkers! Next time someone flykicks an opponent in the chest and gets red carded, maybe just apologise and get a reduced ban. The FA are idiots and has set a precedent for leniency for violent conduct towards staff members now.

Even a 3 game ban was tame but that's a joke.

If only Cantona had offered to buy Matthew Simmons a new coat.

Very odd career move there from Cunha.
Why? 2.5 left on his deal, Wolves will have told his agent the rough fee it would take for them to entertain him leaving, no one has put in a bid which tells you all you need to know so why not get massively improved terms?

This is the perfect guy for the left sided number 10 role. He already plays that role to perfection at his current team so we don’t have to second guess how well he’ll fit into our formation.
I’ve just got a feeling he would explode at a better club.
He’s got cantona vibes.
For my gut instinct alone I think we should buy him.

If the Garnacho sale goes through, this guy would be a dream purchase

I like him. Agree with some people in the thread, he's ready to step it up for another club. Would be ideal for the left AM position imo. If we are looking to offload, 3 wide players in the same window. Something's got to be in the pipeline, especially on the left hand side.

What do people make of these quotes?
I think they're engineering a way for him to leave the club and cash in.. Making out that his attitude is not right so the fans don't feel bad about it. Reading some of the tweets from Wolves fans, many of them are saying get rid (that's what I'm hoping anyway.. So we can swoop) there was a long embrace between him and Amorim after our game, where Amorim was whispering in his ears (maybe planting a seed).. Or who knows, I really want us to sign him, so probably putting 2 and 2 together and getting 10!

Would love it when both Bruno and him sulk together when things are not going our way

For me he reminds me of one of those Aston Villa like Brazilian players that hit a high point in their career after being average for a while playing for a relatively smaller club but once they move to a higher team having to play against different opposition tactics - his performances are not as great.

I really rate him. Watched him about 8 times and and he was the best player on the pitch. He doesn't seem to have any weakness to his game. He can run all day, has the skill to receive the ball in tight situations, can dribble, take people on, he is quick, he scores and creates goals, can see a pass and execute it. He can play as a 9, 10 or 8.

He would walk into our team and immediately improve it. And all the people around him.

It's been so long since we've signed a Premier League proven striker, or even a proven striker who isn't way past their peak, that the idea seems absolutely outlandish somehow.

If there's a chance to get one in in January we should be all over it. We are toothless up front.

Here's a quick run down of who we've signed as CF since 2013
  • Falcao
  • Martial
  • Zlatan
  • Lukaku
  • Ighalo
  • Cavani
  • Weghorst
  • Hojlund
  • Zirkzee
out of that whole list there's only Lukaku and Ighalo who were PL proven (not counting Weghorst as he was pretty awful at Burnley)

The rest are either a mix of past it, mediocre or raw talent.

Surely all this noise is to try to lure clubs in to buy him before the summer window.

Maybe some clubs are desperate for decent attackers, not sure which ones?

Ugarte Bruno

Amad Cunha

Would have a bit of everything in the middle

Hasn't signed the shiny new contract so probably trying to shove him out the door and hope someone like Arsenal is desperate enough to bite.

Like him a lot as a player, think he will do well wherever he goes.

Selling Garnacho, Loaning out Antony and bringing in a LWB plus Cunha would be solid business for Jan.

Not seen our name linked to Cunha for a while though.

Ugarte Bruno will struggle
Yeah maybe - Bruno would have to be more disciplined positionally but then you may lose some of his better attributes.

I really do like Bruno but he may have to be sold to bring in money and kick start this latest rebuild.

Can’t get over the fact that we were heavily linked to him only a short while back and everyone mocked the prospect, and here we are dreaming of such a player. Our timing as a club is always rubbish.

Cunha would definitely be an attainable target if we make a good sale, right? It's becoming an obvious one too if Wolves are really willing to sell him now, as he would be able to play both #9 and #10 IMO.

If we want to consider Hojlund and Zirkzee project strikers and ease the pressure on them to make immediate impact, then Cunha is definitely someone who's ready to come in and contribute now.

If Rashford stays at United, Cunha is a player who will massively complement him and vice versa, too.

However, Zirkzee's long-term role would be even more questionable as Cunha can also be the facilitator type in that front three. That's why I also said he would fit together with Rashford very well.

He’s the prime target for that left 10 in our formation.
Only Mbeumo as our right 10 would be more of a dream.

Where would Amad play if we signed Mbeumo to play right sided 10?
