Match Day section ready for the new season

There is something like that when the match is in progress but I was considering having it show up earlier, a few hours before the game probably.

Yup. Could be a few hours, or maybe a 24 hour countdown as well. Would bode well on the homepage.
 
By the way, will there be a place where the points of the lineup game are recorded and you can check the rankings and stuff? Or is it planned?

Yes it's coming soon. I put it on the back burner until there's some data to show.

The match center really looks cracking in any case, brilliant work by all of you :) (though I'm sure Cina had nothing to do with it, he's useless)
 
Nice work with the new match day features. Would it be possible for an option to skip the rating phase of the 'player ratings' bit and just see the results, like you can do with polls?

Assists are now included in matches and player profiles.

Yes an (free) API for that stuff would be sweet. Haven't done enough research into it tbh, so if you come across anything let me know.

Hmm, yeah, it doesn't seem so for live data without paying stupid amounts unfortunately :( Depends if said stats need to be in realtime or not, if not then there may be something.

You can probably get the players historical stats easily enough for free if we want to add that as well as season stats, would be useful I think.
 
Couple of issues with the thread today, kept on getting an unknown error.

I got the same error as hp a few times as well. Refreshing seemed to fix it, but the entire site was slow/borderline unresponsive for a good 10-15 seconds afterward.
 
Wondering if there was any thought to putting the navigation bar thats at the bottom, at the top as well like the other threads.

Not that it really matters but for some reason I automatically scroll back to the top and navigate from there, might be because I'm a bit of an idiot mind.

The match thread header is already a bit crowded so I removed the top breadcrumb trail, would rather leave it removed.
 
Is there any way after a match to see the results of the MotM vote and player scores without actually voting yourself? For instance, if you haven't seen the match but are interested to see the collective Caf opinion.

Fair enough, not like it's a real hardship and the new section is great.

I'll be adding an opt-out option for MOTM and player ratings voting so you can skip your vote.

I want to avoid Groupthink as much as possible in these results :)

That's where the opt-out will come in. Although having said that, people will watch the highlights of the match a few hours later and then want to vote.

Great, that works for me.

As for people watching highlights later, I'm not sure it's worth worrying about. By the time you've seen everyone else's scores, and watched a cherry-picked version of the match, your opinions will be pretty heavily biased.

For the few who do want to vote after having seen the highlights, I would be happy to have the choice of either sacrificing your vote to see the overall scores, or biding your time and submitting an unbiased list of selections.
 
Would it be possible not to post the score of a game on the side of the homepage when the games are over? I'm not too fussed personally but I think people who can't watch the games live and don't want them to be spoiled might find it somewhat irritating.

I think people should avoid football sites in general if they don't want to know the scoreline. But I'll have a think about that and may well exclude the scoreline from the homepage.
 
Is it only showing the previous and the next match? Wanted to check something from the Roma game but can't find it.
