Match Day section ready for the new season

Is it not possible to make the score predictions go higher than 5?

Edit: Great work by the way. Although I've not been here that long, I've lurked long enough to see some great improvements on this site. well done.

It should be there, I'm seeing it.

I can see it now, might have just been my computer not showing it before

It is but do you really expect us to score or concede more than 5?

You could just change 5 to 5+? If only to shut people up. It's not an issue really though you're right.

Great work though, looks awesome.

Nice stuff

For the scoreline predictions, are they kept track of so at the end of the season or at any point you can see the people with the most correct predictions? Would be cool

Great stuff. There's not a football forum I've seen that's as aesthetically pleasing as this one.

Wow it looks fantastic, is there a way you could include assists and clean sheets for GK's and maybe defenders under season stats? I think people would care about those stats more than yellow cards and subbed on/off.

Nice idea. Clean sheets is easy enough to do. Assists less so as it requires manually recording that data but maybe in the future.

Yeah, I'll probably create a leaderboard of who are the top score predictors and extend the user profiles with some match day stats.

I've noticed one issue when I was recently using the Match Day section. Every time I try to go a page other than 1, the page never loads up for me. It doesn't matter if it's page 2, 4, 10...the page never loads. Only page 1 loads up. I'm wondering if anyone else is suffering this issue, or if it's just me.

Think you're on to something there, click page number and it never loads. But use the url and its fine.

Yes that's a bug, looking into it now.

Only allowing three subs to be picked for the pre-season friendlies @Niall?

Yeah that's not ideal, it's designed for competitive games really.

If there are lots of subs and people have predicted 3 of them they'll get the 3 points, so it's kinda ok...kinda :)

I don't suppose there'll be options to edit lineup predictions in future? Just submitted mine and like the idiot I am, I forgot to include any subs despite our sub discussion.

There will, but went for the release early and add the niceties later approach :)

Is there any possibility to incorporate a 'countdown to kickoff' indicator on the banner?

I replied to the same question on the match thread yesterday:

I had thought of that but felt it unnecessary. Who is going to sit watching a countdown?!

And the match won't automatically progress to 'In Progress' when the countdown hits 0. A Match Day admin has to trigger this manually. Matches rarely kick-off at the exact second anyway.

The kick-off time is relative to your current location, so I think it's enough.

Maybe I'm missing something, but is there a quick way to get to the last post of the match day thread from the forum page? Right now what I'm doing is going to the match day section, entering the thread and then finally clicking the last page. I miss being able to just click on the thread directly and get taken to the latest post. Maybe the thread could be located in the old match day forum as well?

Yeah that is a bit of an inconvenience when you want to get to the latest posts in a Match discussion from the forum list. Leave it with me.

Ok I've made the Match Day forum where the discussions live visible in the forum list.

Clicking on the forum link will take you to the Match Day homepage, but the usual link to the latest active discussion is there which will take you to the latest posts.

Good enough?

That's perfect. Thanks!

How often do we score more than 5?
I predicted 5:0.

I noticed that now after the game the next game against Roma is displayed, is there a possibility that happens earlier or maybe even something like a calendar/schedule option, don't necessarily want to post there already, just see the facts about the game.

Well, there aren't really any facts about the game yet?

I don't see the point in having it appear earlier as the next immediate match is always what people are interested on.

Showing a fixture list on the site isn't allowed. The Premier League license the right to do that.

Not a fixture list, but could we have a ticker like countdown for the next match? Or maybe even just the day/time for the match?

I have seen a lot of apps do that, and they don't use the United logo for that, thus escaping the PL License thing.

What kind of ticker / countdown? Are you talking about on the homepage?

Ok, strange.
By facts I just meant stadium, time, date actually, very simple. I only got the idea because I didn't know where to look up our next friendlies, certainly won't be a problem for the Premier League games, could be helpful if we play some friendlies over the curse of the season though.

Yup. Sort of like 3 days to the game..Or maybe just a 24 hour countdown. This way, we won't really be having a fixture list on the site, and this would help people to track the timings as well, because most of the people visit this site on a regular basis for United related stuff.
