Mata | Mourinho says it's just a Mata of time

The Mail know feck all, they even reported that Mata's helicopter has landed yesterday. fecktards.

So they won't sell a player that they don't play until they sign another player to replace his 'not playing' status. Makes sense.

It's madness in here... I'm sure there are a few things holding it up, it's still going to be a done deal, bottom line is it'll be done in January. I'd rather it be the payment structure reason, as if we do have a good £90m that I've seen bandied about, it mean's we will still have a fair amount left, which goes hand in hand with the idea that we are still looking at other players.. hopefully of the centre midfield variety
Who said we have £90m to spend? I've been a bit out of the loop lately so I'm a bit clueless on things.

It's hearsay, point is, one sight will say 80, another 110, another 90, point is we an safely assume it's north of 60 and if we're trying to structure a £37m deal, it would instigate we want to spend more this window.

Juan Mata grows increasingly frustrated with Chelsea for stalling transfer to Manchester United
Juan Mata is still waiting for Chelsea to formally sign off his £37 million transfer to Manchester United after growing increasingly frustrated with the club’s failure to sanction his departure for a medical at Old Trafford.
Despite agreeing a four-and-a-half year contract worth £150,000-a-week at United, Mata remained in London all day yesterday due to Chelsea’s refusal to complete the transfer agreement with the Premier League champions.
There are now suggestions the transfer may not go through until next week.
Ground staff at United’s Aon Training Complex at Carrington had arrived early on Thursday morning to prepare a helipad in order for the Spain midfielder to fly north for a medical.
But with Chelsea delaying Mata’s departure until they had completed the signing of FC Basle’s Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah, United were unable to proceed with the medical examination in Manchester.
United remain confident that a deal with be completed for Mata and senior figures at the club are currently unconcerned by the delays at the Chelsea end.
But with Mata determined to press ahead with his move to United in order to play regular football for David Moyes’s team after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge under Jose Mourinho, the player and United are hopeful that his club record transfer will still go ahead.
Nothing we can do.

Just seen the Mourinho presser in full- is he on our payroll or something? Brilliant.

Unfortunate that we can't conclude the deal today but not much we can do. Probably won't be signed in time for Cardiff at this rate. Ah well. I'll be back on Monday.

Mourinho said the medical will be happening sooner rather than later, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened tonight.

Furthermore...

That doesn't really make sense. I understand if the delay is about payment structures or something similar but Salah?

Mourinho as good as confirmed that Mata is off so the delay can't be for PR reasons. They surely can't pull out of the deal after Mourinho's comments so I don't get why they want to wait for Salah.

What is with whole, we wont sell unless we buy a replacement first bullshit we are getting from cnuts now? First Madrid at the end of the last window and now this? feck off.

I think we all have Mourinho to thank for a much less nervous weekend than it could have been...

Still not totally relaxed mind you.

Chelsea might not have signed him off yet or whatever but there's no reason he can't have a medical while we're waiting.

Please don't let United ballsup another transfer...
If they do, it won't be Moyes fault, it will be the board and Ed Woodward. It appears to be Chelsea who are the problem however, either how it is paid or them signing a bench replacement.

Sounds like to me this is as good as done, but Chelsea want to announce their "good news" before they let the fans know the bad.

Well done on that post. So we should basically invite Mata for a medical without Chelsea's consent?

They have already announced it. Its just not been made official. Mou just said the deal is going to be done sooner rather than later.

What have we done wrong ? sounds like all the shit is from the Chelsea end, nothing we can do about that.

To be honest, 99% of what we hear is speculation and bollocks. None of us know what really happens with these deals.

If we were to somehow not land Mata now, what we oculd say for certain is that a very disturbing pattern of failure in the transfer market is emerging. And much as people have said about our results, it can't just be bad luck.

I'm sure we'll still sign him though.:nervous:

Why would it be their fault, it is Chelsea stalling so they can sign a replacement, what can the board and Ed do about that, we cant FORCE Chelsea to complete the deal.

I'm pretty sure Woodward wasn't in charge of the deal this time. Even if he was, how would it be his fault?

I think a lot of journalists are making it up as they go along.
