No Antony is fine off the ball and presses okayish. Mason Mount is genuienly excellent behind the ball.
Some stats, last season for all midfielders in the league Mount was -
- 94th percentile for tackles in midfield.
- 93rd percentile for tackles in the attacking 3rd.
- 86th percentile for dribbles stopped.
- 92nd percentile for success in tackling dribbles. (Meaning he is less likely to be dribbled past than 92% of midfielders. Trust me you don't want to see Eriksen or Fred's numbers here)
- 99th percentile for shots blocked (literally the best midfielder in the league)
Above average on passes blocked, interceptions, clearances and pressures.
Factually one of the best midfielders off the ball in the league, comparing him to Antony is easily disproven by stats in their relative positions. Don't get me started on Eriksen vs Mount for the same figures. The idea that you think our midfield will be less stable with him rather than Eriksen is patently absurd.
