Before we signed him I rated him around a Tom Cleverly level player and I was never excited about the signing. In hindsight I think I was over rating him.
Waste of space and money. We have no clue what to do with him, and now we're stuck with him.
From memory it's at least 200k per week but I think it's actually closer to 250k.How much is he on? We gave him daft amounts of money didn't we?
He's not an 8. WTF was ETH thinking with this?

Ok. Serious question. Can anyone give me a highlight reel for this guy? I'm not even asking for a full game performance. I'm asking for anything he has done that is of merit at all at United.
Someone clip them all together into a youtube video and see if we can get it to be over a minute.
Lingard has an insanely good top 10 goals for such an average player. The funny thing is this guy has a worse “best of” compilation than lingard.
I think you forgot to mention he was also 2x Chelsea POTY, good sir.He was Liverpool’s main target too. Pretending he’s a bad player is silly, but we look to have no plan on how to use him well.
You know it’s bad when we’ve reached the ‘Man City also wanted Harry Maguire’ phase of the Mount saga less than 3 months in.He was Liverpool’s main target too. Pretending he’s a bad player is silly, but we look to have no plan on how to use him well.
He’s been terrible, but most potentially good signings would look terrible if there is no real thought given on how they are to be used at their new club or they are used inappropriately. It’s very difficult to understand quite why we so wanted Mount right now, as there’s no immediate way him and Fernandes get in the same team, and Bruno is just a far better player. You know it’s bad when we’ve reached the ‘Man City also wanted Harry Maguire’ phase of the Mount saga less than 3 months in.
As your initial post stated, we have no idea of how to use him because his best position just so happens to be the club captains who is also a far better player. He’s been terrible, but most potentially good signings would look terrible if there is no real thought given on how they are to be used at their new club or they are used inappropriately. I don’t really see the point in going after individual players at this point, because it is pretty clear to me it is not about individuals. Every single signing regresses. Drop who you want. Sign who you want. It means feck all without embedding a clearly understood style of play. Fire all of these guys. Give ETH another 25 players. It’s no substitute for quality coaching and building an actual team. Newcastle’s second string have more cohesion than any team we can put out.
Spot on. I'd say old weghorst is another candidate but I thought he'd do OK when he first came being an actual No9 and all, I didn't expect much from mount and he's delivering in that.Probably the most predictable flop of the post Fergie era.
Weghorst is not a flop. He's a crapshot type of signing. We know that if he fails, we can easy cut our loss. ETH started him and subbed him on a lot when he's clearly out of depth and offered nothing is annoying, but at the end of the day, we didn't make his stay permanent. Weghorst Sabitzer, and potential Amrabat and Reguilon loan are just that: emergency loan with low expectation.Spot on.
