Did I say there was? There is no iron rule that stops young strikers from honing their skills by playing in wide positions during their formative years in the senior team.

We don't produce players like Greenwood very often, there's no reason whatsoever to loan him out. He's only 17 and giving him the last 10/15 like we've done the last 2 matches is fine for now.Why not loan him out, and see how it goes? His body looks far away off to be ready on PL.
When we have better players, there’s no way he should be subbed in tight games. We don't produce players like Greenwood very often, there's no reason whatsoever to loan him out. He's only 17 and giving him the last 10/15 like we've done the last 2 matches is fine for now.
He doesn't have to be brought on in every game. He will get more than enough opportunities next season, so no need to loan him out. When we have better players, there’s no way he should be subbed in tight games.

I agree. If we loan him out to a Premier League or a Championship team, it's not really clear that he would play there anyway and he gets top quality training at Man Utd along with playing time for quality youth teams and opportunity to participate in top tier games, even in limited capacity.
Of course you do. He's a natural striker, you clearly haven't watched him at all. The coaches know where he will play and what he's good at. Scoring goals.
He won't be running down the wing whipping in crosses.
What other clubs play natural strikers out wide? Never saw Kane, Lewandowski, Benzema, Aguero etc doing it? It's just ludicrous.
Mourinho only did it because we have no other wide players with pace at the club.
He hasn't done anything to warrant the predictions in the media and on here. He's a seventeen year old boy, give him a chance.
I'd rather him have less pressure than is being put on him now so he can be free from distractions.Well, it’s his talent that warrants those predictions. He obviously hasn’t had the chance to do anything yet. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to get excited about. His talent is obvious. Much moreso than Rashford for example or anyone since Pogba or Ravel maybe.
He might jump ahead of those guys sooner rather than later if given a chance. If he doesn't take his chances I'm sure he'll get loaned out to get games if we can't give it to him. When we have better players, there’s no way he should be subbed in tight games.

He’ll have them this season. I don’t see anything special in that last game to be excited. He might jump ahead of those guys sooner rather than later if given a chance. If he doesn't take his chances I'm sure he'll get loaned out to get games if we can't give it to him.
He is a goalscorer. His all-round play is good but even if he isn't quite ready there yet, we should make us of his abilities to score goals. I figure that was the thinking behind getting him on the pitch in that Arsenal game. His minutes so far has been against PSG and Arsenal and even if he had scored 2 goals in each of those games, I know some people still would demand more before they would claim to have seen something special there. Example of Rashford fresh in mind. His record speaks for itself in our academy, to me he looks very special. He’ll have them this season. I don’t see anything special in that last game to be excited.
He didn’t even score any. Baseless assumption. So you just make it up.He is a goalscorer. I made up that he is a goalscorer because he didn't score any... In two games? Right. He didn’t even score any. Baseless assumption. So you just make it up.

Yes, I hope to never see him leave the first team squad again. Not involved in the UEFA youth league match today, so should be with the first team against Wolves.
Beckham was sent out on loan as a 19 year old to Preston in the third tier. The best ones never get sent on loan. Those suggesting that dont quite grasp how good he is. He will be useful for the first team almost straight away.
One example 20 years ago. I thought of that when writing that post but I assumed nobody would actually bring that up as relevant.Beckham was sent out on loan as a 19 year old to Preston in the third tier.

I think what he means is the highest rated players don't go out on loan, not the ones who turned out the best, although I'm not sure how true that is. For example, Kane and Salah in weren't seen as outstanding talents, in the same way Greenwood is at least. They both ended up as world beaters but weren't seen as the standout talents of their generations. I think we see Greenwood as our Mbappe/De Ligt, the once in a generation talent.Kane was sent on loan. Coutinho was sent on loan from Inter to Espanyol. Pique was sent on loan to Real Zaragoza, KdB was sent on loan to Bremen and Wolfsburg, Courtois was sent on loan to Atletico, Lukaku was sent on loan to Everton and West Brom, Salah was loaned to Roma and Fiorentina.
There are plenty of examples.

Yeah there probably are plenty. Personally wouldn't send him on loan though, much rather make sure we're solely responsible for his development. He'll get more minutes here than he would on loan I reckon.I don't know about Kane but Salah was highly rated when Chelsea signed him. If he meant youth players then there are so many young players who were highly rated but went out on loan. Wilshere was sent on loan and he was very highly rated.
