there are more good Marvel movies than the trully shit ones anyway. Eternals, The Marvels, Wakanda Forever and perhaps I'm being harsh, but I'd actually add last Doctor Strange in that group - those are some of the laziest and charmless blockbusters released in the last couple of years. I watched about an hour max. of each of them.
but they weren't the norm. majority of them up until the multiverse saga were decent, simple blockbusters with proper pacing. movies like Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange. you walk out of theather entertained and then forget about them. there's nothing shit about them.
and yet some were actually good and simply well made action movies regardless of taste. movies such as Winter Soldier and Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame, or first Guardians of the Galaxy.
I'm not sure if there's a single SW movie on that level. very few SW films rival even those from the "decent" group.

Regardless of The Phantom Menace quality there was no way Lucas was going to make a film which lived up this hype. Doomed from the start.

It’s all super depressing as you’re right it’s the tech bros trying to squeeze every last drop of profit available. But also there does seem to be an audience for this type of stuff.

I enjoyed that article. It shows the problem goes much further and deeper than the MCU, which is undeniably part of the problem, but more as a symptom than as the root of all evil. Also, in comparison with most of the dross explicitly named in the article, several MCU films are masterpieces

What I always wonder when stuff like this happens is, if fans of such movies ever realise how much the people producing them look down on them? They so obviously don’t give a shit. There is just absolutely zero respect from the producers and Disney for those fans. I couldn’t watch a movie where the producers believe I’m a moron for watching them. It’s a matter of self respect.

Id watch Marvel movies anyday (Except Morbius, madam Web) other than the last 2 shite movies Martin has come out with. At least those movies aren't wasting 3 and half hours of my time.
They're Sony films rather than MCU marvel, it's different.
there is no real difference between latest Marvel and latest Scorcesse films, both are unwatchable garbage.
