A couple of performances for Madrid like we've seen from him this season and the fans would crucify him.
He's been absolute garbage and hasn't deserved to feature consistently. He needs to sort his head out before Mourinho runs out of patience with him.

It's not like we haven't been giving him chances though. It's up to him to take one and force himself into the team.
Lingard has consistently played better than Martial all season, in my opinion, do you dispute that?

Lingard hasn't done anything to show me that he has played better than Martial. A couple of nice moments but so has Martial.
If he leaves on loan/permanent, I would be fine with it because he is rotting on our bench.
He was dropped after Spurs, probably for not working hard enough. He's not rotting on our bench, he's just been dropped because he hasn't been good enough this season but plenty of time to turn it around.

Young players sometimes get dropped (some old ones too), it's not big deal and they learn. Hell, as I mentioned earlier, even the likes of Carrick, Herrera, Miki & Rojo have won their places in the side, the results when they actually win their spot tend to be miles better and the team spirit seems great.

Not really concerned. Martial should fire his agent. Martial seems a level headed lad and I'm sure Jose would tell him as much. Play like you played yesterday - with confidence and he picks himself anyway. But he has to put his agent in his place. He represents him and if he can't represent him then he should find someone else.
Jose seems to have played the long game with Martial, as with others (especially Mkhitaryan) - he's had to play himself into the team, as it should be. And now, both him and Mkh are becoming part of the preferred first XI. I think Jose has played a blinder in terms of squad management to be fair.

I think you're missing the point here, José having to come out and say this obviously suggests Martial and his agent are planning his exit together, that's why José had to try put a stop to his scheming by calling him out in public.
I thought he looked as good as he ever has yesterday, and I really hope it wasn't to try put himself in the shop window because the transfer window has just opened.

Okay, how would you fit all of: Zlatan, Griezmann, Mkhitaryan, Martial and Pogba in the same team in a balanced way? Signing Griezmann would mean Martial would be back on the bench and he's too good for that.
It wouldn't make much sense to dump Martial and keep a 36 y. o. striker even if he is still brilliant.
Agree. Ibra, Griezmann and Mhiky to start with Martial being the first from the bench for all three positions isn't a very bad position with him, especially with Ibra leaving the season after and that spot being his.
I think that this is Mata's last season here, Griezmann or no Griezmann. He'll be 29 in April, and is a good player to be on the bench most of the time, in addition to being on very high wages for a squad player role.
Mata and Rooney leaving would give enough room for Griezmann coming, with all three of Martial, Rashford and Lingard covering for Ibra, Mhiky and Griezmann. Young will likely leave too (and so will Depay), which leaves just 6 players for 3 positions.
You can't, but Martial will still be 21 years old and could get plenty of matches rotating with those three. Ibra will be on his last year, there are injuries, Griezmann might have problems until he settles (similar to Mhiky), so there are plenty of opportunities for Martial there, and then the next season he gets Ibra's place. In fact, it is quite possible that age catches with Ibra next season, and Martial benches him.
No way can I see us signing Griezmann and put him on the left, it doesn't suit his game at all. If he is to sign, it will be as a centre forward, or false 9. Zlatan will be 36 next season, and while he has been amazing I can't imagine it will last for much longer than this one.
Hopefully mou can convince him that hes still got a regular first team place as ibra wont last forever. I doubt it though

If signing Griezmann stands in the way of us seeing Martial develop, and potentially takes away the space Pogba is best used in, I say feck Griezmann.

Not that I rate Martial > Griezmann, but seeing a talent like Martial become something special would be insanely good, especially if he would be a loyal superstar with years of service in front of him.

That's 4 players between 3 positions. Over the course of a 60 game season, each could have 40-50 starts and 10-20 sub appearances and be perfectly happy. It's unlikely all four would go the whole season without injuries anyway so there would still be space for Lingard and Rashford to continue their development.
We shouldn't be worrying about these sort of luxury selection problems. All the top teams have that sort of competition, it's healthy.

While I agree there is more than enough game-time to come around, I don't see us lining up with Griezmann and Pogba in the same lineup, unless Griezmann plays as the striker/winger. And for the striker position we already have Zlatan (can see Griezmann/Aubamayang come in and be our striker post-Zlatan, but not right now).
Still, it's a much better worry than the dreaded years we've had...
