Many are asking: 'why would Ralf lie?'
A truer question is: do you follow footy outside England?
Martial likely lied, but for Ralf to lie, nope. Like politicians, Ralf is operating in the realm of deception and reducing him to lies is a mockery.
Martial is just out of depth dealing with Ralf.

Man Utd is bigger than any player. If he doesn't want to play sell him. That goes for every player. I'd rather have a player with 20% of his talent but 500% of his workrate on the pitch.
Always thought the whole Martial FC thing was stupid but I'm amazed to see there are still some defending him. Just bizarre at this point.
We keep giving big contracts to the wrong guys. Moving him, and others, on is going to be a nightmare for our next boss.

these sorts of feuds are useful to get rid of overpaid players. fergie used to also end up in similar situations with players he wanted rid of. by waging war, the hope is that martial will be willing to drop his wage demands in order to get out. i think the move also reinforces rangnick’s power in the locker room as his comments are effectively devaluing the player. martial will probably make less money as a result of all this as he now looks unprofessional. rangnick then has a credible threat in dealing with other players who refuse to fall in line. the downside for the club is that we probably are also gonna make less on a transfer fee.
If that means we have a squad that wants to be here and wants to play, and we actually win stuff, I couldn't care less.

To be fair, Maldini has always been open about wanting a job where he gets to make big decisions. The role milan wanted to give Rangnick was that of manager, in the british style, which would have made Maldini kind of superflous. Hence why he was going to quit if they hired RR
He has to just accept the wage of the new club he wants to play for. He has the option of staying here collecting his wage or accept what another club is prepared to pay you. United are under obligation to pay half his wages at another club.

Ralf should be careful with his words. He's actually reducing an asset price of a player belonging to the club. These issues should be kept behind the scenes and not for public consumption.
I can't think of a single reason why Ralf would lie about this? What does he gain from it? He didn't cause the issues we have.

Because regardless of how shit he has been the past 2 seasons he is still better than what we have leading the line in my own opinion. I dont think Cavani, rashford or Ronaldo can lead the line better than him. You should ask yourself why a club like United cant find better than him. 100% this. Rangnick is here as an interim and consultant. His reputation is intact no matter how this ends up. In Germany he’s lauded and respected while United in their view is an incompetent mess. So if Ralf who has no motivation to protect himself or reputation is calling out Martial who has pulled stunts like this in the past, then who’s more likely to be believed?
The fact some are siding with Martial shows the problem with this club and its supporters. The fact the mod is entertaining the idea that Martial’s side might be true is absolutely comical. Use some common sense and you’ll know Martial is on his heels trying to salvage his reputation since he wants to move on from the club.

I don't think he's fulfilled his potential, and now the time is right to part ways, the trouble is he's on a massive wage other clubs won't pay, and he wants to leave so it's up to him to take the pay cut, if that's what it's all about?
He's asked to leave , he's supposedly didn't want to be in the match day squad on Saturday. It's not working between RR and him so part ways, or one them has to grow a pair and get on with it. Or leave the new guy in The summer sort it out.

It’s not just goals I’m looking at but martial makes others around him much better. Our best spell under Ole saw multiple players scoring. Ronaldo has suffocated the goals out of those around him. I’m more focused on the whole team performing as a Unit rather than one player. I like a fluid attack which is why I prefer martial over the 2 not because I think he is better which is a whole other argument.
Regardless of this latest episode, it doesn't change the fact that Martial needs to go, his time here is done.
It is possible that Martial said something along the lines of I don’t feel ready to play or mentally in the right place to give my all. We’ve heard this a thousand times when there is transfer speculation on players that they aren’t in the right head space to play.
Maybe Martial said something along those lines and Ragnic put forth what he said but neither being fluent English speakers wires got crossed and he is taking it as just him refusing to play or maybe he himself didn’t understand that the way he says that to the press makes that an entirely different situation.
Either way it seems clear to me Martial wants to leave so if a half decent offer comes in might as well send him on his way.
Some of you guys really think that post was written by a PR company? I think you’re missing the whole point of PR if you do. That’s obviously him. There’s no polish to it at all. I’d imagine there’s just some communication breakdown behind the scenes to what Ralf said. In everyone’s mind Martial is gone. Ralf probably just knew he couldn’t fully rely on him so didn’t pick him. End of story. Bags are packed just waiting for the right number to arrive. Does that really matter? We're not a player trading company, we're a football club who aim to be competitive at a sport. I couldn't care less if Martial's value was reduced to 0 personally, I just want the bad eggs gone and harmony/good performances/winning things to return.
The fact this group of players are still able to pull the wool over some of your eyes is incredible. Martial has literally done the same thing before and then threw Jose under the bus after he was sacked. These are players who feel they have zero accountability to anyone- managers, club or fans. The sooner we start turning on them, stop showing up at games home and away and hit them with abuse they rightly deserve, will they consider changing. They do not care about you, the fake apologies sum it all up. Make players like Pogba, Rashford, Bruno, Lingard and Maguire feel your wrath. They are just as accountable to us as they are to the club. They failed to turn up for a club legend in Ole and are seemingly ignoring another in Ronaldo. This is a rotten core. Stop turning on your fellow supporter and let them have it on social media, at games etc.
