Where are the buyers?

If I service a robin reliant every year I'm just wasting my money. Nobody is going to buy it.

I don't see how Ralf's comment depreciates Martial as an asset. Its been obvious for ages he's not part of the plans for the club. His agent has broadcast to the world that he wants out. Yet nobody has come in with a bid Man Utd is willing to accept. Ralf talking him up or talking him down won't fundamentally change that situation.

We should have just let him go to Sevilla on a subsidised wage. Clubs like Sevilla cannot afford to pay him what we pay him. There is very little sense in letting Martial languish around Carrington the way we let the likes of Rojo, Darmian etc. However, given that's what we've done in the past I wouldn't be surprised.

At some point the people that run this club are going to learn to have to cut their losses.

- to be likened to the worst crook in Russia's mafia history
- that Maldini would give Milan an ultimatum to leave if they hired you

The biggest grift (read deception) of all is this:
- he always recommends involving himself with a club through consultation, as a B2B gig (grift) with his consultation firm 'Rangnick Kornetka Consulting'. This way he is never directly on club books and therefore easily able to leverage his influence on player and manager transfers.

You must be really dirty to be called dirty in Russia.

Don't get me started on his escapades in RB, and it is utter ignorance for many to think that Nagelsmann would ever consider coaching us when Ralf is still here. Matter of fact, let's forget a progressive coach, as many are not willing to work with him. Our young coaches did not just leave the club, they escaped Ralf.

Ralf was out of line as predicted. This still does not mean that Martial was right, but what the manager did does not justify the player's wrongful doing.

Ralf behaved like a thug and the board is putting him in line.

Many of us were too blinded by emotions and therefore biased to see this matter for what it was, possibly due to player FC fanboyism and hateboyism.
 


For those saying it’s a reflection of Martial that Newcastle signed Chris Wood and didn’t even consider him.

The amount of stones being tossed by a few at Ralf for potentially reducing the price of Martial was strange. It leads me to believe that the glazers have their cronies on here with burner accounts providing nonsensical opinions like we never go for the profile of a player like Silva or Aguero despite signing Ruud, Veron, Anderson, Hargreaves and Stam. Glazer lackeys have definitely infiltrated the cafe.
 
I just knew Martial was a true red and would never disrespect the club. I can’t believe I almost believed for a second that he wouldn’t want to play for us. Rangnick has a lot of questions to answer for after his little publicity stunt. Good that it’s all been cleared up that Rangnick is the one at fault here. We can all stop abusing Martial.

The Board choosing a player over the coach is another reason why this club is going absolutely nowhere. No coach has any authority in this dressing room. Rangnick being forced to kneel in front of the cult of Martial just shows it.

If Martial was scoring like Mbappe it may be acceptable. He's not. Hasn't looked like doing so for literally years now. But I guess having a hashtag on social media is all that matters at Man Utd these days. We leave winning trophies to Man City and Liverpool. :(

Is laziness on the pitch a sign of respect? It's not a trope. He's clearly not a highly motivated player. Eye test confirms it. Anyhow, I think this has become political with Rangnick having to backtrack as a player earning 1m a month being unhappy and not being wanted by other clubs is a bit of an issue.
 
Of course Martial Is going to come out and say that he's hardly going to agree is he?

I for one applaud Ralf for speaking honestly and openly it makes a refreshing change, if it's true Ralf has to back down then we're well and truly fecked.

Martial should've been binned long ago there is no fight in him whatsoever and sulks at the first sign of competition and his attitude on the pitch is appalling.

Have you read the things you’re writing? Absolutely nothing has been cleared up, the bloke refused to be part of the squad at Villa. He went AWOL during Jose’s tenure and from accounts he went AWOL at the start of this season too. Why are you so desperate to believe he’s always in the right despite multiple managers not fancying him and calling him out? At some point you have to take your head out of the sand.

Not to absolve Martial but I don’t think it’s as clear cut as that, if he really did refuse to be in the squad I think he’d have been fined. In fairness, Rangnick didn’t say he refused to be in the squad, he said he didn’t want to be, and with Martial’s denial it’s looking more and more likely that there was some sort of breakdown of communication. If the report from the Mirror is accurate and Martial is to be brought back in the fold then I’m even more sure that this was a storm in a teacup. If he really had refused to play then I doubt he’d be back in training with the first team.

Please mind your language if you want to carry on posting. I and a few other Mods are related to the Glazers and John Murtaugh. The club is both a football club and a business. Money is needed to buy players and sack underperformers like Rangnick.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the situation the managers generally end up on the wrong side. Rangnick should be gone in the summer. Martial the sulk hopefully leaves in January.
 
I don't understand why not loan him out to Sevilla and only pay partial of his salary. Win win situation. It is still better than keeping him on bench. I doubt Villa is paying full salary for Coutinho either.

None of this will happen imo. Rangnick will not be gone, and is very likely to continue as a consultant. Martial is on huge wages, and the club would want some money to allow him to leave. No takers on our terms thus far. Looks like both are staying put.

What does Rangnick's words on Martial have to do with United's asking price? If United's asking price is too steep nobody will meet it. We've been here many times before. We held on to Darmian expecting more than he was worth, had to sell at a loss. We held on to Rojo expecting more than he was worth, we ended up giving him away. The list is as long as my arm. Over and over United have chased fantasy values for players and ended up saddled with dead weight as a result. What we're doing with Martial is ignoring reality.

Nobody wants him at the price we are trying to sell him for. Rangnick saying he doesn't want to place for us doesn't change that in the slightest. Sevilla, who by all accounts have the greatest interest in Martial, were not willing to meet our terms before Rangnick's presser on Saturday night. Whatever he chose to say or not say is not going to suddenly make Sevilla rich enough to cover Martial's wages. Its beyond their capabilities as a club.

United would have done better just to subsidise Martial's wages and let him go to Sevilla. At least there, playing, there's the vague possibility that he might increase his value. He's not going to be doing that on our bench.

I genuinely think it’s a mixture of the glazers can’t decide amongst themselves what to do in these situations (it’s their money after all) and he’s on far too much money. it’s pretty clear they would rather hang on to an unhappy player and suck every last bit of value out the contract rather than “lose” money selling him on the cheap and having to reinvest in the squad again

I think he’s a baller and I think he’ll do well elsewhere but he’s not a goal scoring psycho which is what we need. He needs the arm around the shoulder and to be told he’s special and the #1. He’s not ever going to get that at a club that wants to win prizes year in year out and for that reason I’d be happy to sell him at loss if we were going for someone more suitable.
