Marquinhos

I really do not think PSG is stupid enough to sell him. I also feel the same about Veratti and Lucas Moura.
If they continue to play Luiz and Silva over him, he will push the move himself.

Di Maria for Marquinhos (+money).

Yeah yeah, swap deals don't happen, but this one really makes sense.

I love it. Everyone dreamed of getting Di Maria last season and now wants to swap him for any player.

We seem to want a young CB as well as Hummels but that's a second option down.

Varane
Marquinhos

Stones
Laporte
Gimmenez

I said it, PSG aren't stupid, verratti and Marquinhos are the last players, they are willing to sell.

We need to get back in the CL and do well in order to attract these young stars.

Why Varane? I know we wont get him, but why was he a possibility in the first place? Has he signed a new contract

The media have been running stories of him being available in spite of signing a new deal to 2020, I personally ignored those and just accepted that any opening to get him was now fully closed.

Gimenez wll stay too i think. I read somewhere that he feels it would be better for his development to stay where he is. I would be happy with Laporte or Stones.

We would have to break the bank for either but, I think Stones and Laporte are both attainable. And they would both be of the required standard.

You're probably right, especially if Simeone stays as I imagine Gimmenez will become Godin's first choice partner over Miranda. My pick would be Stones, with the upcoming rule changes we need to hoover up the best young English talent.

Agreed, and Everton are unlikely to have any European income next season so they'd probably like a nice dollop of funding from us.

It seems the best way to get De Gea to sign a deal with his current side is to link him with a move to Manchester United. This sounds like a job for Jamie Jackson...

He impressed me when he almost man marked hazard to a stinker

The brother of Marquinhos admits he could quit PSG.

Marquinhos' brother and representative Luan says he could push to leave.

"Marquinhos has always been exemplary with the club - he's never complained," Luan explained in an interview with L'Equipe.

"He has however often been a spectator during big matches… we were clear Marquinhos is going to play at the Olympics.

"Until now, we've been cooperative. But it can no longer continue like that otherwise we're going to enter into a conflict. Our patience has limits.

"We like the club, the supporters, but they also have to show us a minimum of respect or else he's going to have to leave PSG."

L'Equipe say Luan then listed the clubs that have shown interest in Marquinhos, claiming Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all made enquiries.

Well it seems Luan is either on some heavy drugs or he doesn't listen to his brother often 'cos I swear all I hear when Marquinhos opens ilhis mouth is moaning and threatening to leave! If you want playing time then don't sign contract extensions, if you sign shut up and enjoy the bench.

No complaints about Marcos' attitude with PSG here. I hope he earns a starting spot next year and stays long term.

The fact he's right footed also seems to make him an odd choice, since we really need another left footed CB to compete with Rojo.
Oh feck, can you remember those conversations we used to have on here? "need a right and a left footer", "need to compete with Rojo." Van Gaal really was absolutely mental.

Until LvG's insanity arrived I'd never even considered what foot a CB kicked with, asking if a target was left footed was the new "Can he play in a 2 man midfield?".
