Hes a credit to us. If he was here during a succesful spell hed be held in same high regard as park, butt, p Neville and others. Never a star but will run through walls and massively underrated in many ways. Calm simple passer, brings aggression we need and physically very taxing for opposition. The criticism is one thing, the hyperbolic hatred and scapegoating is best put on youtube
This is true. I see him as our Park with less skill but more presence. Fellaini is a very good (and expensive at that time) utility player.

Yeah he's a great option to have as holding midfielder, but we only need it because the defence is flakey. With Matic and Fellaini both holding to compensate, there's a big burden on Pogba to perform. Which he does slightly less than half the time.

I think a lot of us would have been happy to hear this news a few weeks ago but how things change after one good game!

Dier and Dembele both hold to protect in the Spurs system, and that with Cafe favs Toby and Vertonghen at the back.

Must have imagined them playing 3 at the back with Dier Ericksen and Alli in midfield this season then

Really hope he has a great season. What he has endured at the hands of the worst United fans and how much commitment he gives, arguably more than any other player, I think he has earned one good season with the support of the fans.

I think they’ve done that once this season. And they lost the one game they did it.

It was 1-1 and they switched from 3 at the back to a 4-2-3-1 which gave them back control of the match and ultimately they won 3-1.

Yes but they didn't have 2 holding CM playing in front of the defence, in fact they didn't against Newcastle either. The suggestion that they did is incorrect and only happened against United, which was a tough away fixture.

That's true. They usually start with Dier as a DM with Dembele as a box-to-box in big matches from what I remember. In general I think they, like most teams, usually like to have one dedicated DM. I don't think Poch gives his CBs extra protection or anything like that.

So it happened twice in their four games and had to change once before they actually won the game. Maybe they’d have been better off doing it.

No it happened once in a tough away fixture

And many times last season. Not always, they were trying to develop Winks but generally there would be 2 from Wanayama/Dier and Dembele playing, all given roles with a great deal of defensive responsibility.

The point is that 2 more conservative midfielders with full backs and attackers given freedom is hardly unusual.

Did he even join up with the NT or was he pulled before he even travelled? I cant seem to find any concrete info on this.

Same as last seaaon. Was at the peak of his performance, injured in a break and didn't see him again till the end of the seaaon. Hopefully not the same scenario again.

Has been terribly unlucky with injuries.

He was brilliant again. Found a good niche for himself protecting Lindelof.

Instrumental in both goals and very very helpful in our own box. You couldn’t ask for more!

So he's actually pretty good.

He was always at least decent, bar the idiotic mistake here and there(penalties, elbows and so on).
He's useful to have around, gives his all to the shirt, that what matters for me.

:lol::lol::lol:

Fellaini was supposed to have had only a few good games for us right? He's been fantastic when called upon this season and has had countless good games.

I'm not sure why all the hate towards Fellaini in all these years. Casemiro is a bully that is not as good on the ball as he thinks he is and makes errors often but we wouldn't have won all that we have without him.

My point is that not everyone on a football team can be all talent and panache. If a guy like Fellaini can find his place in the team and do his job then you should be happy to have him.

And btw, the way he controls the ball with his chest is absolutely out of this world. No one comes close.

He had a great game disrupting the play. Could Matic not play that role and allow a more progressive footballer to play closer to Pogba?

Or drop Matic if the next game goes well without him.

He wasnt that good. Compare his role in the team to how fernandinho plays and its night and day. So many loose balls and he cant pass a ball more than 10 yards.

I get what he does for the team but we really should be having better.
