The moment I liked most was when Schlupp went charging down a blind alley with no support and Fellaini waited to make the challenge at the right moment. In the past he'd have senselessly and clumsily taken Schlupp out early and got himself a booking. A different player under Jose.

Very good today. This is what happens when a player likes a manager and is in agreement with whatever the manager does with him. That bond between him and Jose has given Fellaini a little added confidence and has helped him elevate himself from OK performances to "quite good" ones.

He has had many 'quite good' ones. But the unjustified agenda against him blinded many from recognising his actual contribution.

Loved his celebration!!!
Fellaini the United Hero!!
He and Matic bullied the midfield.

Did great again today. MOTM. You always get the feeling that he has a goal in him.

I also loved his long ball to Herrera that ended with Lukaku's goal.

That was a surreal moment. Very surreal. If Pogba had played that it be highlighted much more.

4 goals and 1 assist in 420 mins this season, that's a fantastic return for a midfielder.

Good solid performance today.

I posted my thoughts about Fellaini in the following in another thread:
===
He is just a hard man. Great work ethics, strong mentality, great attitude, and always willing to do what the team/manager needs of him. Considering how much flack he’s gotten from the fan base, he’s absolutely been amazing to be able to continue to find strength and motivation to keep fighting and doing a job for our club! I respect this guy for sure. The people who complain and whinge about him should look themselves in the mirror and ask themselves howthey would have faired in similarcircumstances.

I really appreciate how Jose recognized this guy’s attitude and mentality rightaway. He has all the ingredients that Jose likes. He may not have all the skills andtechnical abilities that some world class players are naturally gifted with but hisheart and mentality had served him well.

No, Fellaini is world class - when it comes to Chest contol ;)

Was it when he took the ball of the guy from behind and he did it like there's nothing to it? :)

How many goals will he get this season? 10?15?

I know. I have always felt that he gets unjust criticism when he a part of the team that underperforms.

Like, Mkhi yesterday was quite poor. Kept getting bullied and his passing was hit and miss. Yet criticism for Mkhi is always measured and people seem to understand that he is trying his best to make things happen. Right now Fellaini is playing well, but he will have a match or a spell of matches where he will be poor, and I hope criticism for him is also constructive, and not drivel like "He had just hit a purple patch and he is never United standard".

I have often said Fellaini's problem is a lack of passing ability and awareness of what's around him which affects both his vision and defensive abilities when he is played deeper in midfield. The latter aspects he was better at than he usually is yday. But he's better technically for someone of his size than people credit him for and doesn't actually often lose the ball when he has it because he has the frame to protect the ball and has a decent touch. It's not enough for a starter at United but he's hardly the most untalented squad player we have had.

I think he'll get better the more that fans back him. He's clearly a player who thrives on being valued/believed in.

I love how Fellaini and Young are generally the players slagged off, but usually always do the business if given a run of games. They were fantastic during that one period under Van Gaal where we were playing some entertaining stuff.

Speaking of Young and Fellaini:

Not many goals, but still worthy of mentioning.

He's become such an important player for us, he's clearly got a great mentally, just turned it round completely .

Football just does NOT want 50-50s with Fellaini. It ain't ready. Not for our woolly mammoth it ain't.

Just our fecking luck, we'll need a three man midfield against Liverpool and as of now we don't have one.

I actually think we will be better off playing 3 centrebacks and two holding midfielders with Young and Valencia wide and Mkhitaryan, Rashford and Mata begins Lukaku.

No way.

Fellaini would have been brilliant for playing straight over their press, also considering they are about the worst team in the league on defending set-pieces he will be a huge miss.

Agreed.

We should play with 3 in the MF. No doubt about that.

If he misses Liverpool game and we get a negative result, Mourinho will rip Martinez to shreds in the post match conference.

How things have changed.. Couple of years ago people here would have celebrated this..
