Got a good header in for the goal, can't pass in key areas though, just a desperation type of player that we should never have to resort to.
I respectfully disagree. Being a good plan B is the reason why three different managers (two of them proven in European football) have trusted him and kept him in the team. If he was another passer, he wouldn't have much value added to us.

There are plan B's that can actually use the ball at their feet, you don't see other top sides carrying this kind of antiquated lump.

I have a right to my opinion, I think he's an eyesore in a United shirt, he's the opposite of what I want to see on a football pitch in general, just my preference.
You equally give others the right to question your opinions by posting on here.

Thankfully United sides are not chosen to fulfil your whims. And good on Fellaini to just let it float of his back like a duck.

Amazing mental strength.

Comes on against Everton and gave a penalty away, which resulted in a draw and got booed the game after.

Comes on against Liverpool and although he didn't score, he made a massive difference, and I honestly don't think we'd have got the draw without him. Standing ovation from the fans next game?

Chosen to fullfill my whims? Man it's not that serious, I think when you're as average as he is on as much money as he is it's easy to just get on with it as no other top club would go near him and no lower club could pay him half what we waste on him, he's like a baddie in WWF, a pantomime villain. I can never recall in 30 years of following United us ever using such a horrible footballer as a regular option, I don't think it is the kind of progression we need as a squad when it comes to options.

Credit where it's due without Fellaini we don't get a point today. We went direct and he did exactly what Mourinho wanted from him.

I can see why Mourinho stands by him.

Changed the game today. Big reason we got the draw.
Exactly. Shows that the manager can change tactics to get a result. Yes we all love fancy flowing football but sometimes direct hoofball is needed. That's the difference between our manager and City's.

If that makes you sleep at night, sure.

But he definitely isn't still at the club because of that.

It's amazing the things people will try and convince themselves. That's the funniest part of all this. It must absolutely kill you to see him play for us, even more so when he does well like today. Which almost leaves those people willing him on to fail to hasten his departure.

Sadly , it seems like he's going nowhere soon.

If you think any other top club would want him then that's your right, we bought him purely because he was a favourite of the worst managerial appointment in United history, if not he'd either still be at Everton or in Turkey.

I'm not trying to convince myself of anything, he's a garbage player whose huge gangly frame is a nuissance when shoved in the penalty area, I get what he does, I'd just rather not see a United side resort to it, and yes I do hate seeing him in a United shirt, if that gives you some pleasure then glad to be of service, he is ideal for a side who's goal is 4th not 1st though.

Only useful to bring him on and eventually use him as a plan B bombing balls into him, like today. Everyone thinking he is a starter or can play in midfield is wrong. I would sell him and cash in on the 25m instead of him being a squad player and bringing him on to chase a lead with long balls. He played well today, but in the only role he is useful for most of the time.

we had cleverley and welbeck starting just a couple of years back

I like him much more now ever since he got booed by the fans at Old Trafford. Shouldn't happen to any player playing for United and he does not deserve it. Did fantastic today.

His managers don't think so.

I'm happy enough with with that.

i dont remember welbeck influencing even a single big game for us. fellaini has won us multiple big games under lvg and now under mourinho.
Someone will probably mention that mythical game in Madrid where Welbeck was out of this world apparently.

We lost that round and the Bayern QF round only because of him. So looks like he did influence big games after all :p

If we end up facing Liverpool in the League Cup final, I would definitely start him over Carrick. We don't have good enough players to build attacks from back under pressure and he is the best option for pushing us higher up by lumping balls into him. He is a big reason why we had such a good record against Liverpool under LVG . Their pressing becomes futile and they don't know how to deal with Fellaini.

It actually annoys me to see us use him solely as someone to lump balls to from deep rather than keeping up usual build up play and then use him as a threat on crosses. He and team in general would be more threatening if we did that. That's why a lot of the managers would love to have him in the squad. Not only does he provide a different option (And yes, contrary to popular belief he can play as an actual CM to great effect and has done that as recently as this season) but an excellent plan B.

Said it under LVG and this probably holds true for Mourinho as well. He's not a player either manager would have gone out and bought given his limitations but when he's already at the club he provides an excellent option that most managers would welcome.

Jose said today that he wasn't sure whom to introduce today: Rashford or Fellaini. But when looked at Liverpool's bench, he saw no one who could deal with Fellaini and so he decided to go with the latter.

When putting him on I wasn't sure what to believe... but in hindsight, you have to say it was perfect. Fellaini actually made a difference and won lots of balls. Not something you could say about Rooney today...

as a plan b he can be used but should be the no3 sub and roonez shouldnt make the bench, Mata should have been brought on first and then maybe rashford, fellaini to the later stages.. but he did well tnoight

That makes good sense.

Lot of people are seemingly just very stubborn and want us to play a mythical kind of football , which ends up playing right into Liverpool's hands.

They are a very good pressing side, but cut that out and they become generally clueless. They don't have a plan B(Klopp' s post match whining doesn't count)

Showed yet again why he had an invaluable role in our sqaud because he provides a unique option in specific situations. Along with that, he is as good as one can hope for as a rotational midfielder - I honestly don't understand the criticism he gets and think it's very ungrateful and unfair.

I don't think anyone is advocating that's he should be a first choice player and he isn't. But he consistently helps us win points when other's have failed.

This, we were shocking today and wouldn't of got anything from the game but for his introduction. Extremely useful asset

Hats off to Fellaini for the way he's dealt with the criticism. We need better, but I can't knock him for that. I think the real problem is that he's seen as someone that can come on in almost every game, rather than be used sparingly when needs must. It's frustrating to see, and even if he plays well it means we're probably playing a certain kind of football, which shouldn't be necessary regularly.

A standing ovation for coming on and having a positive affect on a game for once? That's proof of people's standards dropping if ever I've seen it.

I won't go as far as consistent cos that is far from the truth and moreso not good enough for a player of his experience and status. If at all we need to have a player for the sole purpose of the any game around, he should be someone that has more strings to his bow and can be a threat in more than one dimension, and more importantly able to slot into a starting XI when necessity demands it. Every player will have their uses and their days and their people patches. Fellaini isn't just good enough if we aspire for greater things than our current predicament.

I can only hope that any decent performances he manages to produce makes him an attractive proposition for suitors

I beg to differ and will happily agree to disagree :)
