Fair play to him, I'll hold my hands up and admit he's been very good so far. If he continues like this I'll be very happy to be wrong about him.

His best game for us? I might have 2nd thoughts about him now. Yes, he's limited, but with good passers and faster players around him, he seems quite useful. He's winning quite a few duels. No elbows so far?

Solid performance. Kept things neat and simple and complemented Pogba well.

He looks really disciplined so far, you knew there was a player in there, well.. most did.

Been my vote for most frustrating player to watch the past three seasons. These two games looked like someone you'do pay 20-something million for

You are talking about when he has a bad game.

This is Fellaini having a good game and this is how he has always looked like when he has one.

This role he is playing in this team suits him more coz he does not have to come out to do everything anymore unlike the previous 2 United teams where he had to sprint to cover the likes of Carricks, be a threat up front after passing the ball to the wings, be dirty etc.

He does not have to do it all now. But, nothing has changed with his ability to play simple and keep the ball moving around.

Nah still disagree. His best performances in England have come with him advanced up the pitch in that deep target man role. Where he relied on his chest control and aerial ability and the occasional success running around tackling people .
This role relies on a completely different set of skills that I never thought he had. Fundamentally the ability to play with your head.

We had someone on here a couple of weeks ago saying Sunderland fans would be gutted to get fellaini

If they had of got him, he would have been comfortably their best player

Theres people on here who were claiming he was championship standard. They're clueless.

So glad for him, from that game vs Valencia, when morons mocked him to this.

Great to see Mourinho praising him, one of the many LvG traits I won't miss was his bizarre refusal to say anyone had a good game.

Let's not pretend you are some football guru please. Fellaini has been garbage for three seasons so it's no wonder everyone wanted him gone.

There is a reason why all 3 managers have played him in Dm roles.

Maybe you missed seeing his quality and ability to be able to play in that kind of role.

Very solid performance again. What impressed me the most was his composure when put under pressure. Last season he would loose the ball with a poor pass or just miscontrol it and give it away, but today he seemed to always be up for it and turn away from rushing opponents with a smart turn and pass it comfortably to a teammate. Very impressed with him so far.

I don't pretend to be anything.

To start of with he hasn't been garbage for 3 seasons. That's just the usual mindless drivel spouted on these threads.

He's played well for LVG (especially in LVGs first season) but he looks so much more dominant under Mourinho. He's no longer that guy we just hopelessly hoof to.

Moyes played him there but he was poor. Lvg almost never played him there like ever.
He was always more advanced under Lvg, who would constantly use him as option b).
Think you're re-creating history here and I see a few others doing it too.

Fellaini has been average to shit for 3 years and has never remotely shown he could play the role of tactical and positional disciplined dm, no matter what mental gymnastics people want to play.

As I have said many times since last season, this DM anchor is his most natural role, so again I am not really that surprised he is executing well. I think he'll become a very important defensive piece this season. His physicality and ability to close and tackle is something that Carrick doesn't really have. Carras has the smarts, Felli has the brawn. Glad to see him playing well and getting credit. He's been one of our most "United" players in the last two years. There is more to come, I have no doubt.

When you said LVG never played him in DM role, I know you didn't really watch him or even the games?

But, ok agreed to disagree.

Much better player when played correctly. Should never be a focal point of a Manchester United attack like he was in the previous years when on the pitch but rather a bonus with focus on disrupting the other team. Seems more calmer on the ball as well.

He continues playing like that throughout the season then his transfer fee would have been a bargain.

Is this a joke?! He was always thrown up top as a number 10 and the ball punted to him for him to be a nuisance, very rarely as a DM.

He's been useless for the past 3 seasons but he's making a lot of people, including myself, eat their words.

Won't get carried away because we know how bad he can be.

But Jose did get good games from David Luiz as a CM, so he probably knows what he's doing

Again, saying he has been useless for the past 3 seasons...

People not watching the games..

Hard to argue with those.
