Marcus Rashford (out)

How you have compared Hazard and Rashford makes zero sense, total nonsense, couldn’t have picked more different situations. Rashford isn’t in his prime, he’s been terrible for 18 months and looks disinterested.

Please show me when I brought up Hazard... ?

Because salaries impact transfer fees and he’s only on 250k a week because some idiots at Utd agreed to it. No one else would have been stupid enough to pay him that. We were willing to pay Mount more for some reason does anyone seriously think another club will match or better Rashford’s salary.

And how much are those teams going to pay Rashford, 125-150k a week so Rashford has a shortfall of about 25-30m that he’ll want Utd to pay.

Off course we are stupid. Buying a talentless player like Mount is a crime itself let alone paying superstars money.

Rashford is on 300k. Morata is on 195k including bonuses and Morata ia many years older than Rashford.

If Rashford would go there on the same salary of morata (10m euros per year) the difference is 15m euros. You can not tell me that we can't get more than 15 million euros for Rashford from AC Milan.

With this attitude we will never sell a player with a good price. All the player has to do is to mentally checks out and then well will pay other clubs for our players.

Make him stay and fight if we do not have serious buyers, if he is still with negative attitude, fine the feck out of him until he starts acting like an adult again.
This isn't practical.
Don't want to spoil your fun but we are probably going to have to pay him off when he moves parmanently.

There are numerous reasons why he was a sensible signing. Admittedly we overpaid but it still made sense.

He was:
Approaching his best years
England international (helps with HG rules)
Tactically versatile and hard working
Good set piece taker

Injuries have really screwed him over but he is a very solid player. Says a lot that Ruben was so full of praise for him on arrival.
I mean you don't spend 60m on an injury prone player with big wages and 1 year left on his deal if it's not a position of need in your starting 11, especially not when you have loads of problems in your lineup. That's a clear example of shit business. If anything, Mount is incredibly fortunate that we brought in Amorim as his formation can fit in both Bruno and Mount without unbalancing it, and it's given Mount the chance to actually be more than a backup here.

He's not a bad player, but you don't spend big money on just any good player available. That's how yourself into the financial shit situation that we have. You look at your team and look at the holes. No CF, no left back, shit group of CBs at the time and average wingers. It's plain dumb to spend money on a player who doesn't fall into these categories.

Right now we need:
  • CF
  • LWB
  • Left #10
  • Ugarte backup
  • LCB competition
Any signing that doesn't fit one of these positions is a waste of money, even if it's for a good player (in which case we better be upgrading on what we have and selling what we have to make space).

The guys about 7 goals away from being in the top 10 for all time goal scorers for the club.

Pretty decent for a talentless hack fraud
If all you do when you get the ball is shoot at the net occasionally you hit the target, a broken clock is right twice a day...

Based on the sheer amount of games the modern footballer plays he has scored a decent amount of goals, but when you look at his goals per game ratio he is down at 78th in the all time list of United players, even Hojlund is way ahead of him in that list, as are a number of other players, Zlatan, Ruud, Chicarito, Berbatov, Tevez, Bruno, etc, etc.

When was the last time he put in a good performance, not scored a goal or two, but put in a good performance. If you can find one, let me know.

What a load of shite

Well that is a load of shit you just plucked from nowhere. No respectable source said that they wanted him at any cost. Anyhow, enough about that mediocre player Mount he has a complete own thread to talk about how stupid (and obvious stupid for most fans at the time) this deal was.

When was the last time we as a team have consistently put in good performances? Last time I checked, we have 23 points in 20 matches. We lost multiple games with Rashford out of the team. In the context of some of the awful teams that he has played in, his record is better than you want to admit. Players in bad teams don't normally perform at a high level. No Ballon d'Or winners playing in teams that are barely above the relegation zone.

Even Postecoglou said that Salah would struggle at Spurs and Spurs are ahead of us in the table. Salah is one of the best players in the world but he also plays in one of the best teams. The team plays a huge part in individual success.

If you want to talk about how poor Rashford is then you also have to speak about how poor most of the teams he has played in have been. But providing context wouldn't fit your narrative.

But please let us know about these great team performances.

It’s from an ESPN article hardly nowhere. You just can’t handle being wrong.

Morata isn’t on that much no one at Milan is and he was coming off the back of a productive season not sat in the stands and having been poor for 18 months.

We owe Rashford something like 50m in wages for the rest of his contract. No one will pay him more than half that and given they know we are desperate and he can’t even get on the bench and he’s been bad for 18 months it’s really quite obvious that we aren’t get a big fee for him. You’d have to be a complete idiot to pay a big fee for Rashford.

Mount wasn't injury prone (he had one injury that did require surgery at the end of his time with Chelsea, but before that he had almost Bruno-like availability) and he was bought when ETH moved to a system that used two #10's, similar to what Amorim does now. It was a stupid system that obviously didn't work, but Mount was bought to fit that system. Questions can definitely be asked about the fee of £55m with one year left on his contract, his fairly average form in his last season, and whether he was the right player to sign even if those weren't the case, but people seem to focus on the things that aren't particularly valid issues.

The writing has been on the wall for about 12-18 months. The usual Clean Slate FC thinking whenever a new manager comes in might have been over stated by Rashford's camp. But the lack of interest and unwillingness to go anywhere near him because of his wages should be a bit of an ego check on him.

Yep, its interesting that AC Milan were the front runners, seemed like his agent was pushing him and probably pushing Milan into the move however; the fact that they prefer Walker just shows what clubs think of Rashford.

His best bet is to go to Saudi and get paid. His footballing career is finished.

Indeed you did say Havertz but I assume that is also ‘false’ and poor examples using your own logic as Mount and Havertz were few years younger than Rashford in same way Aubamayeng and Ozil were older.

Can easily see him saying and training with the kids for 4 weeks, Amorim just doesn’t rate him at all even from the bench.

Havertz is 25 and Rashford is 27... Ozil left when he was 34... but okay 7 years and 2 years is the same for you.. Makes sense.

But is he really on 300k? I thought the wages were reduced because we failed to qualify for CL.

But even so what would the amount be for 5 month loan? Around 6 m ...

I get not wanting to pay a loan fee but if the seriosly propose we pay half his wages they should feck off

25% reduction with no champions league is supposedly in all the players contracts. So 225k ish. But 300k or 350k sounds so much more dramatic.

Havertz is 25 and Rashford is 27... Ozil left when he was 34... but okay 7 years and 2 years is the same for you.. Makes sense.

But Havertz was sold at 24 like Mount, so not 27 and Ozil was 34 when he retired not when he left Arsenal. So you are making no sense and making up figures.

If you want to make age a defining factor then at least get the ages right and don’t pick people who aren’t same as Rashford or like I said it’s ’false ‘ by your own logic.

I have not ignored wages. Arsenal paid £65 Million for Havertz and gave him £285K. Rashford is more talented than Havertz. So no we should not give away Rashford to Arsenal for £20M. Stop talking to me about wages and transfer fees. I'll repeat myself AGAIN..Rashford has to go on loan to raise his value, as I have said repeatedly.
The Havertz fee and wages were a mistake by Arsenal, similar to us with Mount. I doubt any clubs will be stupid enough to make the same mistake.

Loaning Rashford out does not guarantee a rise in value. What if he performs poorly on loan? Even if he performs well, there are still only a handful of clubs that can pay those sort of wages and pay a large fee. Most of those clubs have better options than Rashford.

It's very unlikely that we're going to get good money for Rashford because of the previous regime's stupidity with contracts. We will sell him for a low fee and you will have to find a way to cope with that.

That's a pathetic offer by AC Milan. A loan without paying a loan fee and covering just half in wages. Which ends up saving United, what, 3 million?

Dealing with Italian clubs is a waste of time.

Rashford has to go and at the same time is unsellable. If someone came in and offered £25 million for him, I'd drive him there.

I don't think a preference in Walker is relevant to what clubs think of Rashford, this is an Italian team and their first preference is nearly always a defensive player

Plenty of talents have stood out in crap teams. Speaking of Liverpool, they were crap when Suarez was tearing it up for them. Arsenal were fairly crap when Robin Van Persie was tearing up the league also. Even if you look at some International teams like Poland who are average, Lewandowski has 84 goals in 156 international appearances. Stop making excuses for a decent talent at best, who is incredibly self entitled and lazy.

Mount is a mediocre player many levels below what Rash have shown in the past 8 years. On top of that he is a nothing player, he secured a contract on the same level if Rashford.

Every one involved in signing mount should be fecking investigated.
Mount was one of the 3 best/key players on a CL winner

Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham believes Marcus Rashford would have been "booted out the door" had he declared interest in a challenge elsewhere during Sir Alex Ferguson's tenure.

In an interview with journalist Henry Winter last month, Rashford declared he was "ready for a new challenge", just two days after being left out of the squad for the Manchester derby victory over City at the Etihad Stadium.

Asked which club Rashford should join to reignite his career, Sheringham, speaking to OLBG, said: "I don't know and I don't care, really. I think the way he's come out and said that 'he's ready for a new challenge' is beyond me.

"You used to get foreigners coming into England saying that sort of thing and people think, 'yeah, okay'. However, when it's one of your own from Manchester; a Manchester boy that should understand the privilege it is to play for Manchester United and where you're at when you're playing for Manchester United.

"Every player in the world growing up still wants to play for Manchester United and he's saying now that he wants a new challenge somewhere. I don't understand it.

"Fergie would've booted him out the door by now if he'd have said that while he was in his tenure. He's obviously going to go somewhere, but I think his days are numbered at Man United."

i mean, it's not like Amorim is playing him, Teddy...
I mean, you're missing the part where Rashford said he was ready for a new challenge, just two days after being dropped from the match day squad. He reckons SAF would of booted him out the door after those comments.

how many minutes has Rashford played since those comments?

TBH SAF would have booted him out long before he'd gotten to that point

Surely one of the PL teams can put together 4-5m for loan for half a season. It's not _that_ much money even if you think the weekly wages of 225k p/w are high. He'd be stellar in a counter attacking side like Forest. Hell, Elanga has been good for them and I know for a fact that Rashford's better than Elanga.

Its irrelevent really, Teddy is speaking into Rash's response just two days after being dropped. Two days !! Hope you understand:-)

How clearer does it need to be, that Rashford isn't up for the fight?! Hence his exclusion from the squad. Amorim has made the right call.

I think Marcus actually tried a bit under Amorim. But his mind drifted again. It was great to dream of him building on that 30+ goals etc. it won’t happen here. I don’t think we will see him being picked again - after the last few games, the memory of Rashford seems distant, of another time. Good luck to him in Saudi.
