They can’t even keep their current players. Aren’t they in some kind of money crisis?Hope Barcelona offer him sexy wages on a deal in deferred payments per usual

How’s that relevant? If Rashford wants to move which he does, he knows full well he ain’t getting the same wages at any other club in Europe.
Yes for the last few seasons at least. Maybe theyl offload soon? I couldn't care less as long as they take Rashford. They can’t even keep their current players. Aren’t they in some kind of money crisis?
Well considering he rejected moves to Saudi. Probably.do you think his desire to play is worth more to him than an extra 10m a year?
I don't
Rashford probably ends up at Milan. I think Dortmund would be the right club to choose though. Players usually shine thereYes for the last few seasons at least. Maybe theyl offload soon? I couldn't care less as long as they take Rashford.

I think you're 'being stupid.' Footballers will always claim how much they want to play but rarely do they ever actually take pay cuts. Especially significant ones. The posters saying we can’t get more than £21 mil because of his wages here. He’s not garunteed those wages at his next club is he? And if he wants to continue playing football and have his new challenge then that could mean on lower wages. Or just stay here on the bench or dropped from squad. So the selling price should be a lot more than £20mil.
Or am I being stupid
Zlatan has perfectly valid point. After being benched next 3 years (on 350k), his value will drop dramatically. So, with the age of 30, he will be in position to choose between middle table clubs and salary demands around 50k.I think you're 'being stupid.' Correct. It he can get a five year deal on a reduced but decent salary, it makes sense for him financially, in the long termZlatan has perfectly valid point. But, if he moves now (or summer) he can demand 150k, play regulary and maintain his value.

Depends what you call a decent salary, say 150K a week as has been suggested, that would be a 7 year deal to equal his existing contractCorrect. It he can get a five year deal on a reduced but decent salary, it makes sense for him financially, in the long term
I mentioned earlier that his salary could be reduced anyway due to a lack of champions league football. It’s previously been reported that means a reduction of 25%. If true, that puts his base salary at £225k per week.Depends what you call a decent salary, say 150K a week as has been suggested, that would be a 7 year deal to equal his existing contract
The benefit is that taking a punt on Rashford for £150k a week is more palatable than paying him £300k a week.In Arsenal's case what benefit is there even with a paycut?
Like United they need a striker who can score goals and that's not Rashford, he's a wide forward
I didn’t do any ‘math’. It depends on the numbers involved, obviously, but it’s entirely possible, obviously.that math isn't even close to adding up

I have no idea what you’re talking about. There have been plenty of examples where a player has taken a slightly lower wage on a longer contract, because it makes financial sense. What part of that do you disagree with?we know
Purley is a nice area. I knew you'd be a rational guy that throws numbers into it. You and your big land.Say a club would pay him £150k pw.
He’s currently on what? £300k just for the sake of argument.
For a further 3 years that means the shortfall for rashford is 52 x 150000 x 3 =23,400,000
You can knock that off any transfer fee we receive as it will go straight to him unless he’s willing to accept a pay cut which I don’t think he will.
Taking that into account I think £30m is the best we can hope for right now.
A loan might be better in the hope that he plays well and his value increases.
I dunno neither option seems great but we have painted ourselves into this particular corner.
Because Rashford wants to leave so he’ll be taking Lower wages. Therefore his actual price tag can still be quite high. How is it irrelevant?
If he doesn't get a similar wage from any club making bids then he doesn't sign for them, we are stuck with him and his wages. So you lower the fee to cover the excess wages the buying club will pay. It's all about the overall package. You can pay 50 mil for a player up front with a 5 year contract at 10 mil a year and your at 50 mil in wages, 50 mil fee + 50 mil wages = 100 mil package. Or if he is currently on 15 mil a season and wants that going forward, 15 mil x 5 seasons = 75 mil in wages, so to maintain the 100 mil over all package the 50 mil price tag becomes 25 mil. 75 mil wages + 25 mil fee = 100 mil package. The posters saying we can’t get more than £21 mil because of his wages here. I don't think he'll take a big pay cut. I can't think of any examples of players his age taking a huge pay cut. Can you?Zlatan has perfectly valid point. Chances of getting him for 150K are pretty slim I'd say, they'd be far better off taking a punt on an actual striker IMO - but I don't care about Arsenal so it's no skin off my nose! The benefit is that taking a punt on Rashford for £150k a week is more palatable than paying him £300k a week.
What?Arsenal are 2nd, we are 13th. They shouldn’t be buying anyone off us. Reject their offer. Sell abroad.
I agree that it would be unlikely to get him in on £150k a week and that's why I wouldn't want my hypothetical team to go near him.Chances of getting him for 150K are pretty slim I'd say, they'd be far better off taking a punt on an actual striker IMO - but I don't care about Arsenal so it's no skin off my nose!
Do you see teams ready to buy him right now?Because Rashford wants to leave so he’ll be taking Lower wages. Therefore his actual price tag can still be quite high.
Include Antony if you hit the jackpot?I think we should raffle him, 1 million per ticket. Any club that buys a ticket and wins can have him then
The parallels are there — it’s his agency who is the one shopping him around and pushing for talks with desirable clubs like Milan, Dortmund, Barcelona etc. and then there’s such a stark contrast with clubs like Como, West Ham, and Monaco making unprompted offers for him. This reminds me of the Ronaldo situation where he was pimped out across Europe only to land in Saudi Arabia. Yikes.
Called it
That’s all just speculation and opinion, and has nothing to do with mathematics.when you said it would make sense for him financially it doesn't because the numbers are not close to adding up
his market value is comfortably less than 50% of his current wage so extending his contract from 3.5 years to 5 years doesn't make up the shortfall
and that's before you consider there's more chance of him pivoting to a career in the NBA than someone giving him a 5 year deal at this point

Are we seeing a case of “what Rashford wants” vs “which clubs actually want Rashford”?
