Marcus Rashford (out) | signs for Villa on loan

You'd have to be very ignorant about the economics of football to think we will ever be in a position to get more then £20-30m for Rashford. Even if he goes and scores 20 goals on loan over the second half of the season.

The most likely scenario if he goes on loan this winter, by far, is we will get to July and still no one will want him other than for a subsidised loan deal in 25/26.

Quite clearly if he scores 20 goals on loan for the rest of the season then we’d have a queue of teams looking to take him in the summer. Im happy to accept that’s a best case scenario but an argument that he’d still be undesirable if it did happen is ridiculous.

How humiliating for Rashford to have Arsenal reportedly bid €25 million for you. They paid nearly three times that for Nicholas Pepe.

Rashford has three years left on his contract, is an England international, and Arsenal won't even pay what they sold Nketiah for...

You’re too kind - the bid is only £21m allegedly. At £25m, he will have parity with Sancho and slightly shy of McT.

Have to admire his brother's chutzpah, going around all the big clubs as though Marcus is still a big player.

I think around £45M would be fair value.

If he wasn't damaged goods then £55M-60M would be the starting price. But you can't go public with how crap his attitude is and how desperate you are to get rid, and then somehow ask for a decent fee.

Yeah good luck with getting that

If I was an Arsenal fan, I wouldn't want my team to go near him unless he was taking a massive paycut. I have a mate who is an Arsenal fan and his view is the opposite of mine. He deems United to be a bit of a mess and that the change in environment would make Rashford a punt worth taking.
In Arsenal's case what benefit is there even with a paycut?

Like United they need a striker who can score goals and that's not Rashford, he's a wide forward

This is going to be a typo. Barca president asking for more levers. Someone googles Leavers, Rashford pops up. Non story.

Nobody is gonna pay for Rashford’s salary or transfer value.

I dunno about transfer value (as in: actual, realistic value per January 2025), but they sure as feck won't match his current salary.

He's on roughly twice as much as AC Milan's top earner (based on various sources). They - obviously - would not go anywhere near that if they were to offer him a permanent contract here and now.

Any realistic deal will involve United paying a significant part of his wages - or so you'd think.

(Of course it is theoretically possible that Rashford would be willing to take a massive pay cut in order to...get a new challenge? Prove himself in a different league? Something like that?)

My bet is still that he will end up in Arsenal in summer. He is better than what they have, they can give him big contract (not crazy one of course) and they can pay the fee.

Barcelona who can't register players? Where do you find these sources?
it doesn’t matter how good the source is if it’s saying stuff you want to hear. it’s like you don’t even internet these days.

What is not true there? If he wants to stay (with playing every 10th game) then yes, we must pay him every single euro.
Bit if he doesn't want that then he must adapt. Same as us. Why we should take all the hit? We can lower slightly our fee demands and he can lower his wage demands.
Is he prepared to be bench warmer for next 3 years? I don't think so.

At the end it is situation who wants it more; we to sell him or him wanting to leave?
Rojo, Lingard, Bailly and Romero all sat on the bench, in the stands and even at home as they rode out their contracts. Harry Maguire, who seems like a top, football loving pro, was unwilling to join West Ham after a season where he only started 5 league games because he would not take a pay cut.

Football isn't a regular job but players are still human beings. Money is king, even if you're already rich. Sometimes especially if you're already rich. Any pay cut will be minimal.

I genuinely don't care where he goes or how he does at his new club. Just want us to get rid off his high wages and get a decent fee, around £30m-£35m.

Barcelona need to think about signing their own players before anyone else’s.

I’d rather loan him out than sell to arsenal for 21m though. He’s worth more than that based just on the fact he’s English ffs.

The posters saying we can’t get more than £21 mil because of his wages here. He’s not garunteed those wages at his next club is he? And if he wants to continue playing football and have his new challenge then that could mean on lower wages. Or just stay here on the bench or dropped from squad. So the selling price should be a lot more than £20mil.
Or am I being stupid

Surely a Google of leavers related to football would have Matt leTissier as the number 1 result

We got like 25/30 for mctominay, id aim for 35/40m. He’ll bang goals in, in Italy, Germany or Spain.

While I think it's ballcocks as well I suspect the registration of on-loan players has a different criteria than purchased players

Hope Barcelona offer him sexy wages on a deal in deferred payments per usual

He should just go to Saudi, We will get decent fee and he can double his pay check.
