Marcus Rashford (Out) | Rashford: “For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

I hope this means he will be willing to be flexible with his wage demands, I hope we get a decent deal and I hope he gets a move to a good club where he can exell.

I don't understand the antipathy towards Rashford, I am disappointed with how he has dropped off, but I wish him nothing but good things.
You should try watching Manchester United games, you'll figure it out pretty quickly.

Is there an realistic club he could move to in Spain though?

Real don’t need another left forward. Barca literally can’t afford to register any players. And I don’t imagine Marcus has the work ethic for Atletico.

Girona gave us 500K for Donny, maybe they could give us that for Marcus?

In all seriousness though it will come down to what Marcus is truly looking for. If he genuinely wants to try something new and having made millions already is open to taking a big pay cut then he will have options, if he still wants to be making upward of 200K per week then he won't find any takers. If he is willing to take a big wage cut I would think Serie A is his best bet, several clubs that can pay him at least 6 figures and in its current form it is a much easier league for a forward to excel in. We would need to facilitate the move by taking a modest fee for him because as had been pointed out, few Italian clubs are willing to spend big in the transfer market, we could afford to do that bearing in mind he is homegrown and we would be getting rid of a bloated salary.

I think a Newcastle or Spurs would be best for him. Newcastle have really brought some players on, there’s a good atmosphere amongst their squad and they’re well supported.

Isak is a better striker and Gordon is currently better wide left. Newcastle won’t go near him unless they’re forced to sell one of them.

Can’t see him going to Saudi, it would be pretty sad if he did given his age. But money talks.

It sure does. I did not think Ruben Neves would go in his mid twenties but he did and is an ever present in the Portugal side. The right amount of money and the notion that the league is building to the World Cup could sway Rashford into believing that far from retiring he is a pioneer.

Just read a click bait about a supposed swap deal with Barca for DeJong, I mean it would be absolutely hilarious if it happened

Do you really think it helps if a player says he wants to move before you have sorted a deal. There is no bargain power left for the selling club as there is no real alternative.

It’s just pr talk to look like a nice guy
I think the players agent would be putting it out there anyway. Just directly to clubs rather than a press interview. Same outcome either way.

His playing style suits a.madrid and simeone perfectly like quick counter attack. But only negative is he will ask rashford to defend as a wide player. Can rashford put that effort for simeone
He's slow as shit. Physically slow, mentally slow too. They could get a far quicker, younger, harder working player for a fraction of the money.

A lot of that interview doesn't quite add up. Seems to get a bit contradictory.

The initial response was he's doing it as a reaction to being dropped. But then he comes out with the line about 'what am I going to do, cry about it? Or come back stronger'.

More telling, he says he's ready for a new challenge, but then goes into specific detail about where he's looking to play in Amorims system and talks about adapting to it. Bit weird if you're looking to move on, no?

When he's ready for a new challenge, is that he's actively looking, or he's happy to go along with the clubs wishes to sell him?

Would love to see the interview in full. It probably adds up a bit better. I just feel like certain bit like that are important to clarify, just so you get a better idea of what an exit plan would look like.

I'd be disappointed in him if he went to Saudi, as someone who has warm feelings about him as a person stemming in large part from his moral compass over child poverty. He would go down a fair bit in my estimation for sure but I wouldn't be all that shocked I guess.

Is that because of him, or because United have built up his reputation far beyond its means? I'm not a fan of Carragher at all for obvious reasons but think he hit the nail the head when he said that we're all talking about Rashford too much.
When did he say this? Would love to see that segment

The players took about 50x the slack either of them got. feck me, the players were getting shat on even when we were doing relatively well. There were constant calls to clear X, Y, or Z out because they're letting those 2 geniuses down.
Ole was labelled a “PE teacher” from day one. You’re either being very selective or you were reading a different forum.

Sure there are those that went the other way as you suggest, but focusing too much on either side gives a false view.

Isak is a better striker and Gordon is currently better wide left. Newcastle won’t go near him unless they’re forced to sell one of them.

I agree, but I’m sure they’d be tempted. Most fans thought Gordon was shit before he went there. I didn’t agree, but i do think they are doing well developing players or just getting the best out of them. Half of them were useless until Howe arrived, now they are looking a lot better. I could see a team like that getting a tune out of him, rather than another big club where the pressure is on and the fan base will just turn on him if he’s not amazing right away.

If Rashford still believes his interview is a right choice, no one can help regardless what his real future plan is. It’s really a terrible choice.

I think the interview is fine, he every has a right to respond after the club made it clear they want to sell

he should have told the boss but it's hardly gonna bother Amorim or the club

he wants him out, the fans wants him out, and now Rashford has let everyone know he wants out. Good, we're all on same page

he didn't complain or say anything negative about the club either

Sorry but at no point has amorim or the club talked in public about wanting to sell him. He gets paid big money so the manager has the right to expect more from him and drop him if needed. This interview is absolutely ridiculous and completely uncalled for.
