I do worry that he plays through injuries too often. Hopefully he's fine but from the sound of things he won't be able to play the full 90mins tonight.
Fun fact, Mane - who the Caf used to obsess over - has 60 goals over the past 3 seasons and Rashford has 55 (I'm including this season).
Here's an exhaustive list of players who have scored and assisted more goals over the last two seasons in the top 5 leagues, the associated domestic cups and European competitions:
* Domestic goals scored in Austria and Portugal are not included
- Lewandowski - 114
- Messi - 100
- Mbappé - 87
- Ronaldo - 79
- Lukaku - 73
- Immobile - 71
- Müller - 71
- Haaland* - 70
- Kane - 69
- Werner - 68
- Sancho - 68
- Benzema - 68
- Salah - 66
- Sterling - 65
- Bruno* - 65
- Rashford - 65
That's the company Rashford is looking to keep up with and doing so admirably. Above him you have the two greatest players ever, the current de facto best player in the world, the consensus two future heirs to the world game, and then a pretty tight pack of players.
He's basically been as a good as anyone else, and realistically could have been as high as fifth in the world, competing with Cristiano, if he hadn't done the right thing and handed over penalty and free kick taking duties to Bruno in good faith.
Good luck to anyone who thinks Marcus Rashford is the area to improve at Old Trafford. People need to go and look at the output of many of our forwards during our golden years, or even many of the so-called greats during the 90s and early 2000s. He's going head-to-head with Rooney at this age. In the seasons they turned 22 and 23, Rooney scored or assisted 70 goals. Rashford currently has 65 (with a maximum of 13 games to go), despite the fact that everyone seems to believe he has been injured for over a year, been "shit" individually and playing for what many regard as a "crap" team.
Rashford is the one of most valuable players in the world for good reason. The only players younger than him on this list are Haaland, Mbappe and Sancho. Here's arguably the third or fourth best and most productive attacking player in the world in his age bracket or younger. If he was at any other club, we would be creaming ourselves at the thought of signing him.
I still remember the day I read a post on here lamenting that we didn't send him out on loan and get Haller in for him...
Edit - Accidentally had Bruno and Fernandes, when one was supposed to be Rashford!
Clearly not fit, ridiculous that he stayed on as long as he did but took his goal superbly.
I'm split by the goal. He did everything right and can't fault him for that, but the defending . He's not going to get opportunities like that in the PL too often.
It’s something myself and @roonster09 have been banging on about a lot. The likes of Son, Mane, Sterling et. al are simply not better than Rashford. Very similar levels with Rashford being the youngest by a decent amount. Very much grass is greener stuff from our fans.Fun fact, Mane - who the Caf used to obsess over - has 60 goals over the past 3 seasons and Rashford has 55 (I'm including this season).

The issue is the drop off when Bruno & Rashford don't play is too much. We rely on them far too much.
He'll obviously start against Spurs, but I hope Ole rests him in the return leg vs Granada.
Worried about the long term effects of playing him injured, and he's not likely to get this summer off either.
He gets plenty of those chances in PL.
From the other thread.

It's happened literally once before, against Sheffield United a few months ago. And that was a diagonal run. No PL defender is letting him run unchallenged in a straight line at goal from a centre back's long ball.
I think he should be assessed, play vs spurs (even if it's 60 minutes)
Then rest completely vs Granada and Burnley and then look to be back vs Leeds
I agree with you but I don't think our club will do that unfortunately even if long term it's better for usI don't think Rashford should play against Spurs.
We are nine points ahead of fifth placed Chelsea. Unless we have an almighty collapse we are going to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Finishing second doesn't really matter, as much as the TV companies would like us to believe it so they can persuade viewers there's massive stakes riding on our matches. We finished second under Mourinho and it was a springboard to sweet FA. Recruitment will decide whether we can go forward as a team. If we finish second and get the equivalent of Grant, Dalot and Fred this summer we won't be going anywhere.
Rashford should not be risked unless there's a genuine chance of us dropping out of the top four. We should save his legs for the Europa League knock out ties.

There's 8 matches remaining: Tottenham, Burnley, Leeds, Liverpool, Villa, Leicester, Fulham and Wolves.
It's hardly done and dusted with a 9 point gap to 5th.
