Same old story, West Brom playing deep and his physicality and pace is nullified completely.
This is the issue. Rashford to be really effective needs space. He struggles against teams who park the bus. Ideally suited against teams playing open attacking football.Same old story, West Brom playing deep and his physicality and pace is nullified completely.
The problem with that is after getting a lot of points off of the top 6 last season every team has changed their tactics against us meaning unless they're on a suicide mission (leipzig first game) no team is going to give us that much space behind which doesn't bode well for Marcus unless he can change his game. This is the issue. Absolutely! He needs to adapt his game accordingly to become a top player. The problem with that is after getting a lot of points off of the top 6 last season every team has changed their tactics against us meaning unless they're on a suicide mission (leipzig first game) no team is going to give us that much space behind which doesn't bode well for Marcus unless he can change his game.
Cool, bad decision making or selfishness I get, thick as pigshit?....Probably because there's an element of truth to it.
What's with his obsession of trying to beat half of the opposition team every time he gets the ball? He either has terrible decision making, or he's incredibly selfish. Neither trait is attractive.
Football is a simple game made complicated by players like Rashford.
Apart from those times when he weirdly decided to cut the ball or go back then back again I felt like he was at least kind of alright in the first half. For sure the best out of the front three and was putting in some dangerous stuff.
Switched him to the left and he reverted to type of giving the ball away and being a bit of a solo merchant.
What I can’t get my head round that for someone with such a powerful shot why he isn’t just taking it on his right foot and driving it to the far post. Even if the keeper gets something on it most likely rebounds out in to a dangerous area.Yeah, agreed. He was actually ok in the first half. I think knowing he can’t cut in and shoot forces him to cut out the fannying round we saw on the left.
Although it has made me realise how bad his left foot must be. He seems to never pull the trigger when he has a chance on his left foot. Which is a pretty bad flaw for a striker.
He probably could word it better like “Zero Footballing Intelligence “Of course not but to say the guy is thick is bollocks, I don’t know why people like you post shit like that.
Definitely is not the case. It's just that nearly everything he tries doesn't come off. I think the team's level has dropped in general which doesn't help. But Rashford should be focusing more on interplay with team mates and being part of moves that open up teams rather than constantly trying to beat a defender. His dribbling isn't that good.Utterly garbage again. It’s like he doesn’t even want to be there
Perhaps this belongs in the Weird Feelings About Football thread, but I feel like all our players, save Bruno and Pogba, can only use one foot. Watching a player like Nani, equally comfortable with both feed, was a delight, albeit a frustratingly inconsistent one at times.Yeah, agreed. He was actually ok in the first half. I'd say Greenwood, Pogba and Fred are the only ones who really use both feet. I can't say that I've noticed Bruno use his left very often although obviously his goal was a great hit with his left.Perhaps this belongs in the Weird Feelings About Football thread, but I feel like all our players, save Bruno and Pogba, can only use one foot. Fred trying to shoot on his left is one of life's most predictable disappointments.Fred trying to shoot on his right foot is one of life's most predictable disappointments though.
