Think people forget he's just 24 still, most young players have ebbs and flows. It's bouncing back and getting back to their best that seperates the good/great players from the forgetful ones.

Been promising signs recently from him and hopefully he'll continue trending that way. Always get the feeling we have yet to see the best of him for us yet, which says something given how good he was 2 years ago, and I hope and believe that Ten Hag will be able to get that out of him.

He's played most of those games at striker and been absolute shit. However he has definitely looked better when he's been on the left, which is where most of those goals and assists have come from. The hope is that now that Martial is back it will allow Rashford to play on the left fulltime, and hopefully the two of them can link and start looking like they did in 19/20.
We don’t win any of those games without him.

No one is saying it absolves anything are they? I’m confused. He’s playing well and deserves praise and support from the fans. If not then what’s the point.
I have given praise along with discussing reality. Both things can be true & occur at the same time, praise & criticism. It’s not a zero sum exercise.

Again who said it was?

The past is the past though so continuing to hold that against him would seem a little perverse.

The lad gotta be proud for such a big performance over European powerhouse Omonia. Especially when most of the Omonia team had to be subbed in the second half so they could go and do their full-time jobs. Well played, Rashford

Rashford>Sancho on the left. Far more dangerous and effective. He didn't cost us 74m either.

When he's on song he's one of the most exciting players in the world. Pity it doesn't happen that often.

Evidently changed the game. Hope he takes Sancho's place for a good run of games

Superb game by Marcus. Before he came on the attack was slow and subdued. He was the catalyst (along with Martial) to bring some life to our forward play. So glad to see he is getting back to form and I hope it continues because he was really great a few seasons back and has it in him to be great again.

That performance surely cemented his position at left wing. Great half by him, was a joy to watch. That combined with Sancho being off the boil means it's a no brainer for me.

Excellent performance, including his selflessness in trying to feed Ronaldo to in that slightly misplaced pass to help him gain some confidence instead of going for a well deserved hattrick. He’s slowly but surely repaying the fans and most importantly himself for his poor performances last season.

A healthy, confident Rashford is an elite left winger, and that is where he should play against Everton. Rashford-Martial-Antony, I cannot think of a better front three we could field at this moment in time. Pace, trickery, intelligence and most importantly, form when the rest of the team might be low on confidence after the 6-3.

Agreed. He’s inconsistent as feck but going forward the front 3 surely has to be Rashford - Martial - Anthony right?

Yeah until Sancho can figure his shit out this is certainly the best option right now.

Sancho at his best is much more gifted than Rashford but it feels like he plays to not screw up in everything he does right now, so his games just end up being devoid of any sort of real impact.

Already matched his goal tally from last season, in a quarter of the games. Unsure how much of it is down to Marcus himself or Ten Hag unlocking him, but either way it’s great to see him looking back at it.

How would you know unless you ask them what level confidence they are at or are their psychologist?
Because you can quite clearly tell by people playing.

Some are unphased and play consistently no matter what, others shrink and disappear.

I think it's not about Rashford playing on the left, as he scored goals from center. It's more about he plays with another CF that take away some sole focus on him.

Marcus Rashford is two goals away from being only the 13th player to reach 100 goals for the club.

A group containing Rooney, Law, Giggs, Scholes, Van Nistelrooy, Charlton, Ronaldo, Best, Solskjær, Herd and Mark Hughes.

Look at this and the slander this lad gets, he is only 24 as well crazy to be mentioned with these all timers in terms of numbers, by the time he finishes in what 8 to 10 years he could be at the number 1 spot for sure if he can pick up some of the 19/20-20/21 form for 5 or 6 seasons in a row

Rashford looks more comfortable out there when Martial is playing. Sadly with the injuries it's not something we can rely on.

We could easily repeat the last 3 years.

He needs to stay on the left

Move Sancho to the bench or centrally

It's great he's aware of the need to play there and grow as an attacking player because there is a certain prestige to being the striker of a team. I think he may be thinking about his career in the long term where he says thing like this. However, he also needs to be acutely aware of his limitations because things like hold up play and playing with his back to goal is almost alien to him.

He has the physical and technical attributes to do a decent job if he really wants to learn but at this point of his career, he is too good of an offensive weapon for us to be anywhere but left wing.

Great second half and the left hand side spot should be his to lose now, Should only be am emergency option as a striker now Martial is fit.

He is now genuinely looking back to his best, definitely at his best coming off the left. Those in to out runs he makes across the backline are absolutely world class.

He links up so well with martial. Having them both fit would be great for us.

He shouldn't play as CF, he is terrible playing that role. He is completely different player as a LW, even his runs are very good from LW.

Martial and Rashford was our best combination post SAF, it's always good to see them linking up. Martial as CF and Rashford as LW should be the set up, Rashford or Sancho based on form.

Tbh I never had many doubts that he would hit form again this season. He had a bunch of unique shit circumstances that were part of the reason why his form suffered. He was also to blame, especially the extent of it, but they were all "valid" reasons. Showing why he's such an important player this season, and will be even better back on the left with Martial to play off of.
