Probably could have had a couple today if he was wearing his finishing boots and still guilty of doing a bit too much but overall thought he was decent. Hopefully the injury isn't bad because he's going to be needed if we are going to get top 4/ another trophy.

A big worry he's injured. A bit offset by the returning casameiro and eriksen but we will miss his threat and penetration. Cant see him playing next week at all. In both games.

I had an injury like that and it took me weeks to feel normal again. But he's a pro so hopefully just couple days. Martial is back so we could afford to miss him a match or two imo.

Had a huge part in our goal today attacking their defense and getting them out of position. ETH has every right to expect wins against Sevilla and Forrest without him in theory, but in practice it’s been a different story. Ideally he should rest until the FA Cup semi.

While ETH is right that the schedule is ridiculous, he also has to take some of the blame himself IMO. Once we went 2-0 up I thought Rashford and possibly Bruno were obvious players to take off considering the amount they've played and how much we rely on them. Rashford more so considering Bruno does seem to be an iron man who never gets injured. That's not just with the benefit of hindsight after the injury; unfortunately we don't get many opportunities where we are in a position where we can rest those two so whenever we are in a comfortable position we should be taking advantage.

Yes, that is a very good take on the situation. I've always felt that Ten Hag likes to keep his major players on far too long, so I'm not surprised that there will be muscle/ soft tissue injuries.
Let's hope Sancho, Antony and Martial will step up to the plate during the next two or three games, with Pellestri, Weghorst (who might we'll start v Seville), and probably Elanga getting some minutes.

Yes, he can’t say “we must protect the players” and then not do it himself when he has the opportunity.

"It doesn't look well" quote from ETH worries me a lot. Rashy is fecked for at least a month.

Just 3 weeks out is the best hope for Groin injuries.

Haaland picked up an groin injury three weeks ago, he returned to the City starting team this evening.

Games he's likely to miss:

Sevilla H & A
Forest A, Spurs A
Brighton (Semi final)

Absolutely brutal. We've had no bleeding lucky this season really. Seems like we've been dealing with stuff on and off the pitch all season. Injuries haven't been kind either with Martial missing majority of season and Eriksen missing 16 games too.

Wout gonna come to the rescue.

I saw this interview on Bein with Dickhead Keys and he made a snide remark along the lines of “well this is the Premier League Erik, if you don’t like it there is always the Eredivisie” as if this season isn’t an anomaly scheduling wise and making unnecessarily borderline xenophobic defences of the PL. The utter cretin of a human being.

I really hope Rashford is okay, he has been essentially our only goal scorer for the nearly the entirety of the season.

In reference to today’s game, he must be the worst finisher I have seen who has scored 28 goals in a long time. Feel conflicted typing this due to how important he has been for us and his injury that he picked up today, but he should have been closer to 40 goals on the season by now.

Not to take anything away from him, he’s been excellent, need him back and firing asap toward the business end of the season.

Bad finishing game but still dangerous throughout - excellent decision making to set up Martial. Got to assume he’s out for 2-3 weeks at least, so hopefully Martial can stay fit for a month.

2-0 has never been a score where managers sub off their best players because they think the game is over. 3-0, sure. But not 2-0.

Yeah his finishing wasn't on point today but my word him just being up there caused them absolute havoc.

Hopefully he only misses 2-3 weeks at most. If it's a really bad one and he's out for rest of season or good as then we won't be winning anything else this year sadly.

Not sure how you can say that

Nothing is guaranteed in the Cups and he would definitely be missed but United would be fine as long as there are no further injuries .

We'd be fine? He has 18 more goals than the player in second place (Bruno) and Martial can break at any moment.

Don't think it's that dramatic to say. He's carried us this season.

Say what? Do you think our prospects of silverware increase without him or do you think they increase?

You said it with certainty. As though we may as well not bother.

With Eriksen, Casemiro and Martial back in the mix the dynamic shifts. Get Garnacho involved for the run in and I don’t think it’s doom and gloom.

Of course Rashford will be missed but to write the rest of the season off is overly dramatic in my eyes.

Yes he has carried us this season and others would need to step up now but as long as there are no further injuries United would do just fine .

Seriously. Even if he's out for couple games, I don't even see where we can find a reliable scorer. Martial just scored this game but he's been prolific for so long. Not sure Martial is ready to start and endure 90 minutes.

Weghorst is almost useless. Even tempted to start McTominay upfront. McTominay may lack the other aspect of a CF, but if the ball fall his way, it's likelier for him to score than Weghorst. Or pushing Sabitzer further up the pitch. Still very grim situation for us.

It is dramatic to say. I think he's scored a third of our goals, but what percentage of City's goals has Haaland scored? Teams rely on their best players, what's new. It doesn't make them one man teams. Having Casemiro, Eriksen, and Martial back means we have more than the vast majority of opponents and should be fine. We've got a very strong first 11 even without Rashford.

So either Martial has to somehow stay fit or Weghorst needs to find his scoring boots.

Neither has looked likely, but let's be positive. It could happen.

This is where the quality depth and trust that was Garnacho really hurts. Now the onus is on Sancho, Martial, Antony, and Pellestri. Maybe Bruno is deployed differently to provide a goal threat now that Casemiro is back.

Hopefully he recovers well and quickly, but cannot dwell on it. It's time for other players to step up in his pending absence.

Thought Sancho was having a better game than Rashford today and he didn't look gassed on the hour mark like he normally does. Could of easily of been Rashford coming off in a straight swap for Martial but I knew ETH wouldn't be taking him off. Not having a dig at ETH by the way just thought Sancho deserved to stay on.

At least with Casemiro and Eriksen back, we can afford to take Bruno out of midfield and use him on the left if needed. You’d hope that what we have left can still do enough against Sevilla, but if we’re missing him for Spurs and Brighton then that’s really shit luck.

I’d play Weghorst on Thursday and give Martial another cameo for now.

I'm not writing anything off. I'm merely saying it will be a very tall order if he misses more than 2-3 weeks.

He has 18 more goals than second place Bruno. That's huge.

Garnacho is still some way off too isn't he?

Rashford's finishing can be very weird. Martial came in and showed how to do it. Hopefully, he won't be out for long.
