What makes me positive is the fact he was still walking relatively ok afterwards. Again going from my personal experience which is worth what it is, when I tore my groin, I could not put a foot on the ground. Driving was extremely problematic as any micro movement of those muscles would trigger pain

He’s definitely not tore it as you say otherwise he’s not walking.

Will be a minor tear/strain I imagine so I’m going to say 2-3 weeks

Will start v Sevilla. I’ve seen this Caf hysteria so many times when there’s a precautionary substitution.

Rashy, groin. 3 weeks out
Surprised ten hag didn't take him off at 2-0
Really surprised he wasn't taken off at 2-0
How long is a groin injury? 3 weeks?
With so many crucial games coming up you don't take chances, especially when 2-0 up at home
End of the season, will be lucky to play a couple of games
My first thought as soon as we got the 2nd was hoping Bruno and rashford would be taken off.
Gutting to lose him for a while during such a crucial period of the season.

Fecking hell

Take a minute and calm down. Talk about hysterical.

You don't usually see someone stop sharply, clutch the area, limp off, and then start 4 or 5 days later.

But hopefully he's been sensible in coming off immediately and it's only a couple of weeks. That will still be 4 games though is the problem.

Ten Hag said it doesn't look good and is pissed at the schedule

It's ridiculous and definitely catching up on us.
We still have to fit the Chelsea game in somehow, potentially another 3 Europa games and an FA cup final!

Will definitely have to be creative with the rotations.

If anyone has done their groin properly then they know it’s hard enough to even walk. Few weeks, I reckon.

With the midfield back fit then I think we’ll just about manage.

Hasn’t he said something like this before about Rashford and then it turned out to be nothing? Everything crossed that it’s just mind games again… :nervous:

That's hilarious. Why is he making 40 or 50 posts saying the same thing

I’ve no idea. looked in the matchday forum for the first time in ages and it’s a shit show.

There’s plenty of qualified doctors ruling him out for the season as it presents a chance to slag the manager and be negative.

Yeah I think 2-3 weeks. All guess work though but he made his own way off so can’t be a full tear otherwise he’d not move at all.

It truly is impossible to judge. When people say they "walked off" it always makes me chuckle.

Shaw walked off, was "precautionary" but is probably out 2-3 weeks.
Van Dijk walked off and was out 9 months.

Heck, I've limped off then realised I'd done ankle ligaments and been out 3months myself.
Adrenaline is an incredible masker of an injury, I've seen people drive an hour home after injuries, then not been able to move when cold again.

Not really true. The Irish rugby captain, Jonny Sexton, played on for a few minutes after injuring his groin in the grand slam decider against England. He was dancing around during the medal celebrations as well. He has since needed surgery and will miss the rest of the season.

Nobody knows how bad it is of course, it didn't look mega serious so I don't see it being a season ender but I'd be surprised if he doesn't miss any time.

I wouldn't expect to see him in the next couple of games at least.

Yeah true. I guess that’s all we have to go on though and I’d imagine medical staff will be all over it.

I broke my leg and drove myself to the hospital

Yah fair enough. I’d say all we have to go on is he walked off though so it’s more positive than negative.

If it's only a couple of weeks I'd take that.

Should be mentioned too , Rashford seems to walk with a limp all the time anyway.

As long as Martial can slot into the 9 and stay fit we should be okay for a couple of weeks.

The most optimistic take I could make is that he seems to have a relatively low pain threshold, based on his reaction to what look like minor impacts during a match. So it’s possible he was over-reacting to a very minor injury. But groin injuries are a cnut. So it is a worry.

Just a shame we don’t have Garnacho either as would be less impactful with Martial back fit.

Anyway. Fingers crossed.

Cause he’s been hit with a few shells

I'm sure it's been a while since he felt 100% fit. If we'd had anyone else scoring goals this season he'd have probably been rested a lot more but he's had to just get on with it.

Hopefully we get a proper striker in the summer and relieve the burden on him.

Seems particularly cruel right when Martial Eriksen and Casemiro are back , Rashford gets fecking hurt. It's typical.

doesn't sound good, the hectic schedule to blame no doubt.

Fingers and toes crossed it's not a season ender. Even if just 3 weeks out He'd miss both Quarter final ties v Sevilla, Fa Cup semi final v Brighton and a key top 4 game away to Spurs. Then option B is hoping Martial made of glass stays fit...

Yeah that was incorrect too

"We have something in our heads but I don't want - he will definitely be back before the end of the season. I think he will be in the final stages but I don't want to bring so much pressure on the medical and Garnacho to set a date when to be back."

hmmm.

We are confident he’ll be back before the end of the season. You interpret that as being lucky. Okay.

Confident? He says final stages and also doesnt want to put too much pressure on garnacho or the medical team. So based on that I interpreted as he might be lucky to start a couple of games towards the end of the season. Okay.

I forgive your hysterics

He walked off so it won’t be a full tear.

Imagine a couple of weeks
Concerned about Rashford and imagine he’ll be out a few weeks.
