Nobody else worried he’s rushing it a bit again?
Nah doubt it. He would have had an shoulder-specialist orthopaedic surgeon making very strict recommendations about time for resumption of things with physio input etc

Rashford is our best left sided player by a country mile, I wouldn’t care one bit of Pogba was Benched.

What I can see though is Rashford being pushed upfront with the opportunity of it being a more fluid front 3 with him Pogba and Sancho.

When we need to win Greenwood and Cavani can come in and we go more attacking

A fully fit Rashford is one of our best players easily. Be good to have him back after the international break.

It's one thing being back in light training while nursing a shoulder injury, another to be back in full and getting match fit. His surgery recovery doesn't likely need pure rest. Can do most things to keep himself fit but can't do some, but hopefully it means that he is fully fit when he is medically cleared.

What about the ankle injury he sustained?

Despite his stats last season, it was concerning how miserable he always looked(likely because he was suffering from pain).
Really hoping we can see a fully fit and firing Rashford soon.

I wanna see a front three of Rashy Greenwood and Sancho. Could be the wolrd cup front three next year if they perform to their potential...

Good to see him back, would be interesting to see whether it actually takes him 2 months from now to be match fit. I hope and think not.

We need him, I think our fans havent yet understand the potential of a firing Sancho and Rashford on the wings.

I think the one thing Rashford gives the team is raw pace and running in behind. He’s quite simply the best player in the team at making those runs off the shoulder and getting clear opportunities which is vital against teams that press high. I do think the rest of his game leaves plenty to be desired and overall I prefer Pogba playing on the left as he’s a far more creative player but it will still be good to get different options back.

He isn’t benching our top scorer!

For me I think Pogba would make a great false 9.

Rashford back will create a headache regarding LW. No way we are putting Pogba on the bench and he doesnt fit in a pivot with Fred or Mctominay. He have to play further forward in a pivot with Bruno and a holding midfielder behind, or where he plays now.

Imagine having options!

No my point. Both Rashford and Pogba are supposted to play most of our games. Pogba will therefore play mainly in our midfield again so a pure DM is needed if we want to use him optimally. I hate playing him further away from goal with more defensive responsibilities. His half ass pressing and dribles near our penalty box are horrible. He is far better in a more advanced role creating chances.

I thought it was 3 months, by the looks of it he should be back in 3 weeks.

Think the Ronaldo signing will have the biggest impact on this lad, he’s long based his play on Ronaldo & my hope is Ronaldo can teach him how to bridge the gap between his talent & game-to-game consistency.

One thing is for certain, he’s been largely written off by a significant portion of fans and rivals after last season. I have been critical of him but if he can get over his injury problems once and for all, feel confident in game then we may well get to see a totally new level from Rashford. I think we will have to be patient with him when he comes back, but I’m confident he will still play his part this season and hopefully he makes the next step in his development.

Rashford and Ronaldo attacking together at Old Trafford is the stuff of dreams for me. Ronaldo is my favourite United player ever closely followed by Rashy.

Rashford will certainly be more motivated than ever and I think he wants to prove a point to all his critics and impress his role model. I hope he can get his confidence back asap when he returns and stay fit. Then we're probably in for one hell of a season

How in the hell you can write him off?) Considering all circumstances: injuries, his age, his still good numbers.

If some idiots wrote him off, it doesn't mean he was "largely written off". It's just not true.
He's a future club legend.

Rashford had already proved to be an exquisite creator.
With CR7 as a CF, our play will be geared more towards Ronaldo, which I think forces Marcus to take better decisions in the final third and be less selfish.
It's not even a matter of forcing him, I bet he'll be excited to put chances on a plate for his idol whenever he can.
I think it will be good for him.

My guess is he'll score 10+ this season, but will get a lot of assists.

We've missed his threat from the left. Both him and Pogba offer a lot from the left, but Rashford gives us pace and has the ability to beat a couple players with a moment of magic, something we're sorely missing at the moment.

It will be tough for him to get back into the starting line-up, but fully expect him to do so, and also to contribute heavily this season.

Let's not forget, he's contributed 20+ goals in back to back seasons that have been stop-start for him, and will now be learning from the Ronaldo, who is perhaps the greatest ever from that inside left position Rashford is trying to make his own.

When is he due to be back in full training? Will he be in the squad v Newcastle, or is he still a couple of weeks away?

Gonna have to learn to be a striker. No better teachers than the two we have here.

Why though? When he's not carrying a tonne of injuries, he's one of our best players as an inside forward on the left. He can learn loads more within that position, improving his decision making being the main thing. He's not going to evolve into a great #9.

Because given our system it's much more important for us to have playmaking qualities in wide areas than attacking runs off the ball. What makes you believe he can't develop into a great 9?

It's not so much that I don't believe he can do a job there, I just think his qualities are much more suited to getting the ball to feet and taking his man on (like Martial, who is definitely not a #9). Rashford is poor in the air, can't play with his back to goal, and doesn't have that natural ability of sniffing the chances. Greenwood on the other hand will be greatly served by learning from both Cavani (as we've already seen) and Ronaldo. I think the creativity we need long term will come from central midfield, once it is addressed and a more dominant/functional way of playing.

But he can only take his man on consistently in space. His ball retention is poor and so is his passing. I don't doubt his ability to play on the left in a 4-3-3 where he wouldn't need to come deep but that's not the system we use. If we continue to play how we play we don't need a striker to hold up the ball.

What has Greenwood learned from Cavani? He's a completely different player. In fact, I'd argue playing Greenwood as a 9 would be holding him back.

Finding space.

Will have a hard time to come back in team and become a mainstay again hopefully he takes it in a stride

Not better than Greenwood unfortunately for him.
If you're right then we're truly blessed. ;)
And they are not even fighting for the same place imo, we will be able to play them both a lot of times.
