i totally understand that part. I myself have disc bulges and it's the kind of pain that is there all the time. I just assumed that with the medical facilities/rehabilitation centers available at the club, he would be in a good condition to play especially that he is declared fit. Probably pushing him to the limit despite being injured last year was a stupid decision.

Nonetheless, his body language indicates lack of interest for some reason, is it pain? I don't know. He just looks like a man with no passion on the pitch.

He's a grown up professional footballer, if he's feeling pain that unable him to perform he should speak up, get it treated, or at least get an expert opinion, if he thinks the internal United medical team can't cut it, he could try going to Germany, like many other high profile athletes have done.

Does anyone else get the impression that he is a bit of a sulker? When he gets dropped he doesn't react well.
I should state that even when he was playing better than this I never rated him as a top talent but current Rashford is not even a PL footballer.

It's sad to see how the fanbase in general and even the matchgoing fans are turning on him currently. (but not surprising and understandable)

Hope he can somehow turn it around.

Every pass the guy makes seems to be straight at the oppositions feet. Doesn't use his head and doesn't learn from mistakes. There comes a point when it might be best to wash our hands with him as I don't think he looks bothered when coming off the bench on top of everything else.

Tbh its definitely warranted. My issue with him (as I suspect applies to the majority of his recent critics) is his lack of work rate and looking disinterested. I can forgive a player going through a poor patch as long as they appear to be putting the work in, but he's playing like he hates football lately.

i posted this last night. I think he assumed his new found status allowed him to play where he prefers, on the left.

If he is depressed and in pain, is this not present in training all week? Not a chance in hell he plays training like this

I have lots of time for our Marcus so if he needs more of it to get back to his best, then let him be. Sancho becoming good and coming into form will help him too. I’m fairly sure Rashford will score a winner or two again before the season ends and the Caf will love him again

My only worry concern was Ole’s insistence of running him into the ground in the last couple of years and playing him through injuries and possibly ruining his body. These things do add up

Yeah we know he was capable of much more as you say, the issue is if his body has actually been permanently damaged. If it has been which is looking likely due to how long he’s been playing poorly then this is now his maximum level similar to Torres and Owen. We need to either use him as squad player or get rid of him. I would prefer to keep him as a back up winger but should never be starting games.

About fans supporting the players.

Well of course we all do and wish only the best, but there's a difference between bad luck (injuries, personal matters etc) and just not being motivated enough, because the team doesn't win or whatever. Why do we have to stick with the players who love the club, love to play for the shirt, but thinking it can be achieved while half-arsed? It's disrespectful towards the fans, the club and his teammates.

Apologies after apologies are reasonable maybe once-twice in your life. Yeah, life happens, things happen and usually you have some shite on the plate that needs some action. Cannot say that Rash is in a position where he doesn't have enough support (if it's a mental thing) to sort it out. If he'd be unemployed, living off the social funds and trying to make sth out of himself, then it's understood that mental help or whatever professional help is not that easy to get.

I'd say that he is the usual problem of United itself - not being bothered, money-and-fame-motivated and in his comfort zone, knowing that eventually you'll be on the pitch and the fans are still supporting you, even if you have shown that you don't care. It's disrespectful. It seems that the board are too afraid of the players and I truly hope that Ralf sorts that shite out. United's issues are in the head and mindset, not the skillset. And mindset is harder to fix than skillset.

Love it, calling out journalist. Cristian Falk is known to have made up stories in the past, unfortunately, this will take a massive hit to his credibility.

The funny thing is, Mark Goldbridge was twerking for him when he posted this.

When fans retweet and look for things to believe their narrative is annoying, he mentioned this is true because Maguire and Lindelof didn't celebrate with Ronaldo.

I get people are frustrated with the apparent lack of effort and to be honest I’ve no idea or guess what’s going on with the player.

Those suggesting he’s just not very good are daft though and have very short memories

The amount of utter bollocks that the media have spouted over the last few months that just gets taken as gospel by people like Goldbridge to spread toxicity is seriously annoying. I’m happy someone has actually called one of the bellends out but it’s a bigger issue than Falk. It’s just been open season for too long.

Anytime theres a positive result they come out. Theres definitely a narrative online to keep us disrupted as possible.

That whole interaction depresses me. There’s nothing those dickheads want more than the profile boost that comes with a player engaging with them. He’ll have been absolutely delighted with that retweet.

We also have to hope Rashford’s “team” are behind this because if he is finding it hard to stay in love with football and/or struggling with his mental health then the last thing he should be doing is trawling Twitter looking for negative opinions. He’s not even tagged in the tweet ffs.

Nothing to do with status the fact that he's played the majority of his career on the left and has been a far better and more productive player on that side for years. Should ensure that if he's to be selected then more often not it should be on the left.

But Ralf seems to have a penchant for playing him off the right despite it clearly not working. It didn't really work well when he was shifted out there to accommodate Pogba under Solskjaer also.

yup, makes sense.

He didn't really engage. Just crushed him. Rashford and his antics irritate me but in this case he was 100% right. BTW, struggling with mental health is not a binary thing. You can still browse twitter and in this case he let fans know this is crap.

Nothing wrong from him here.

I agree. The biggest issue I have with him is that it has looked for a while as though he feels he is above doing the dirty work/tracking back etc. Though that is just my opinion obviously. That clip of him pointing to Maguire at the guy he was supposed to be tracking in the home loss to Sheffield United last season springs to mind.

Go back to being that humble hard working young kid who first broke into the team, give it 100% on the pitch every time and the rest will come.

Hopefully he follows Falk due to the whole Sancho saga. But I agree - I’m happy someone has corrected at least one bollocks story but at the same time I don’t really think any good can come from engaging with these twats. I do often think if I was a footballer and I had my pick of clubs that United would be right up there at the top of the list but at other times thinking objectively the scrutiny and perpetual crisis narrative any time we draw a game would seriously wind me up. I think I’d prefer a far quieter life at other top clubs where everything isn’t dialled up to 11 all the time - the media and online fandom is just fecking relentless in its toxicity. You do wonder if players like James, Donny, Martial and Lingard last year feel massively relieved to be out of it when they leave.

Why dont players do more of this, just shut them all down, give the journos no where to go, would soon stop all this click bait stuff

Thanks I forgot about this one but I think it’s my favourite if I’m honest. Can’t look competent unless on his favourite side of the pitch.

The requirements of the role when placing on the side with your favoured foot is completely different. He isn't the first player this is the case for. Current examples for United you could use Martial as well.

Nani was worse off the left than the right, so was Valencia.

This is especially the case with players as one footed as Marcus, even when in great form, he was never known for his creativity

Then keep him out of the starting 11 it is. As even while playing off the left it appears he can't even go past a parked car and runs into brick walls 9 out of 10 times!

If that's what is required but he's very clearly in terrible form and playing him from the right is just a waste of everyone's time

If he’s in pain or has injuries or struggling in another way then stop making himself available for selection. The infantilization of him is ridiculous. He can’t both be a player in this mid 20s comparable to Ronaldo at the same age yet literally indistinguishable from a child too shy to tell the manager he’s not feeling right

His PR is the only thing about him that’s world class

Valencia rarely played on the left. All Rashford needs to do on the right is cross the ball instead of trying to take on the entire defence the whole time. Martial can hold the ball up a lot better than Rashford, heads better and dribbles and passes better.

His off-the-field exploits are deserving of all the praise that comes his way; however, he's been awful on the field.

He’s been bloody awful and played better injured than fit. For me some players just miss managers when they leave or are sacked. Ole had he’s favs and maybe some of these players have lost their mojo since he left. I think some def have had attachment issues since….

There's a reason Valencia didn't play on the left, that's my point. Also Martial doing those things better has nothing to do with my point that the expectations for thay role are different and Martial doesn't look as impressive playing off the right. Simply because these players aren't wingers, it's not as easy as saying they just need to cross the ball, if the position was that easy anyone would be able to transition to that position.

He's been very poor so far this season but I'm simply stating playing him from the right isn't the solution to that. Either bench him and make him earn his spot back or play him from the left if the coach intends on playing him through his form.

We'd bench him but Greenwood...
