Ole confirmed that he already had a minor injury to his back and tonight he got a knock to it again.

Was only on for a bit. Whilst he didnt score or do anything special, I felt his sub lifted the crowd and team.

Fingers crossed he'll be fit for Sunday.

If he plays Sunday you just know that cnut Henderson will target it lie he did in the league game last year

Ole on Rashford: He´ll probable be playing on Sunday! (knock to his back, his leg is fine - or, as fine as it was before the match).

Literally, we need him to play against Pool. Burnley we should be able to cope without him... *fingers crossed*

Realistically it's the opposite, even with Rashford it's unlikely we'll do anything at Liverpool whereas at home to Burnley is a game we have to win and need all our best players for as it's those types of gams we've struggled in the most

Really hoping this fella develops into the superstar some see him becoming but his sulky head down attitude bothers me. Maybe he thinks it's cool or something but it looks bad, looks like he doesn't care. Still, I wasn't Ronaldos' biggest fan either but he got the job done.

Hopefully the injury is just a knock but I hope we don't risk him against Liverpool if he's not fully fit, the season is longer than that one game.

Our lack of squad depth is going to cost us this season, you can see it a mile off. The team is looking tired.

There are about 4/5 players we simply can't afford to be injured now, with Rashford obviously very high on that list.

Agreed, if Ole tries to do anything to get him out there, it could actually jeopardize him for the rest of the season. Back issues need to be treated cautiously when looking at the long-term, I'm not even sure what the other knock he got is but just the back issue alone should keep him out and rested.

We should probably sell him tbh. You can’t have players going around not smiling all the time. And then you have wankers like Pogba smiling too much. When is the board going to get it right and starting signing players who smile just the right amount? What this club really needs though is more demented smiling a la Klopp. Mediocrity has really crept in to this club where we just accept ordinary smilers, like Mata, as being good enough. I’m glad someone has finally been brave enough to stand up and say what’s really important. Well done.

Step up your smile game, Martial FFS!

Nobody said that players have to walk around looking ecstatic all the time. Personally I would like to see Rashford and co looking like they want to be out there. Looking miserable all the time is never going to have a good effect on the rest of the team or the watching public. If I was on similar wages, believe me I would be smiling. Anyway, well done on overreacting.

Any excuse to have a moan on this place.

And did you think you were a cool hipster not being Ronaldo’s biggest fan by the way? Did you watch him play for us? Why on earth would you, or any United supporter, have ‘not been his biggest fan?’ He was the best player in the world, and doing it for your team.

Rashford has a brilliant attitude to the game, and is a very good footballer. These are positives.

Overreacting?

He made a funny post taking the piss out of your desperation for the right amount of smiling, hahah.

We're the only team to do anything against Liverpool this season and the pace of Rashford, Martial and James is one of the few things that could hurt them. Especially with our lack of a midfield at the moment we need massive pace on the counter, they will leave gaps in their defence.

Burnley will pack 10 men behind the ball like they always do and Rashford's pace is less necessary.

If Burnley loses vs Leicester Sunday, they might end up being in relegation place once we face them..

He's had this issue with his back for weeks now. Several times he's been struggling holding his back, especially the city game he looked awful. The poor bugger gets played every minute of every game and he can't get a rest because we rely on him so much.

He's looked like he's been struggling with his back for most of the season tbh
We brought this on ourselves. He's been struggling with this injury for weeks.

Every game he pulls up holding his left hip/lower back. Yet we wheel him out every single game.

This is self-inflicted, not unlucky.
This is worrying tbh, he clearly has a stress fracture in his lower back and we keep playing him through it. A young kid of his age shouldn't be carrying on with a broken back ffs.

The fact is we are toothless without him, he's going to have to play every minute and not heal. It'll effect his career in the long run and his life in general.

No wonder he looks really stiff and can't play on after taking any impacts, really do feel bad for him.

Sounds like you like a good moan. The reasons I wasn't Ronaldos' biggest fan were 1. diving 2. loving himself and berating others when things weren't going well 3. the sly move he pulled in getting Rooney sent off. - Supporting a club doesn't mean you have to love every single player. Sounds to me you're the type who would love Suarez if he came here even with everything he got up to.

I think a legitimate reason to dislike Ronaldo was the stuff that were said about him being a slave here before his transfer to Real Madrid. But not being his fan whilst he was our main man is just weird even to me, as I always sided more towards Rooney in general.

What made me dislike Ronaldo for real, was when he missed a penalty for RM, and while his teammate scored on the rebound, Ronaldo stood there, shaking his head visibly unhappy, although his team just scored - like that counted for nothing. It was all about himself.

Rest him against Liverpool. And Burnley, if necessary. You don't feck with back injuries.

We're unlikely to get anything against Liverpool anyway. Try and find a silver lining by doing something unusual that'll take them by surprise.

We'll be needing Rashford for the next ten years, let alone the rest of this season. Let's not jeopardise that for one long-shot game.

He's always been this way, I don't like that attitude but that's part of what made him great, he was never happy unless he scored. He was barely happy to assist even though he did a lot of that as well.

Wasn't that Perez who said that? It was really ridiculous either way.

Who cares if he plays vs. Liverpool, rest him for god's sake? We need to make sure we finish the season strong on all fronts, a midseason match against the scouse doesn't mean a hill of beans in the big picture. They have won the league this year, us dropping points against them won't be a massive loss of face. We need to ensure we get three points out of teams we should beat like Burnley & that will mean we potentially rest our quality players to ensure this. Absolutely no point in risking him on Sunday.

I'm against this. Injection isn't needed, back in the days Roy Keane used to drink Royal Jelly for faster recovery and He was literally strongest man on Britain. But even so He was an amateur boxer even then wouldn't scared of his aura.

That would be a ridiculous thing to do and any person advising him to do the same would be equally crazy. We have seen far too many cases of players taking these painkiller injections, only to make matters worse.

Rather not have him available for Liverpool than have him out for the next few weeks.

I’d rather have an attacking player who is never happy when he is not scoring, than a player who is always happy even when he never score (ie Lingard)

The difference is, one who is never happy not scoring, scored an average 45-50 goals per year for past 15 consecutive years, while the other who always happy about not scoring, went through the whole year without scoring a goal.

Is that about Rashford or Ronaldo? Because Marcus always seems ecstatic when we score and celebrates with the team every time.
Ronaldo, of course. Sorry that we´re having this debate in the wrong thread. Rashford is perfect.

if he isn’t fit he should not play. Crazy to risk him and chance loosing him long term.
His injury underlines why we need a 4th top class striker. Martial will be injured soon, standard.

Realistically or not, there's no way we should sacrifice our chances against Liverpool for anything, whatever the odds. Especially since we're actually a very tough opponent for Klopp — they have only 1 win against us in the last 9 games (same as us).

Depends a bit on the nature of the injury. If it´s the back, I don´t know how much playing will impact the injury. Those are the questions the medic staff are paid to have an opinion about and Ole won´t play Rashford if the medics advice against it.
