i sometimes despair at how fans actually watch our players. Rashford has been rusty/unlucky with his finishing but his overall game has still been excellent since the restart.
The thought of Rashford, Martial and Sancho all playing together with Greenwood as an option to bring on to rotate is just, well. It's brutal.
Just imagine if Martial and Rashford weren't stalled by a certain Portuguese cnut for 2.5 years. They'd be absolute world class right now!
Comparing stats for this season across all competitions:
Sterling (36 G+A) : 27 goals, 9 assists in 3572 minutes - 132 min/goal, 396 min/assist, 99 min/g+a
Jimenez (36 G+A) : 26 goals, 10 assists in 4133 minutes - 158 min/goal, 413 min/assist, 114 min/g+a
Salah (35 G+A) : 23 goals, 12 assists in 3956 minutes - 172 min/goal, 329 min/assist, 113 min/g+a
KDB (34 G+A) : 13 goals, 21 assists in 3376 minutes - 259 min/goal, 160 min/assist, 99 min/g+a
Mane (33 G+A) : 21 goals, 12 assists in 3607 minutes - 171 min/goal, 300 min/assist, 109 min/g+a
Vardy (30 G+A) : 23 goals, 7 assists in 3248 minutes - 141 min/goal, 464 min/assist, 108 min/g+a
Martial (30 G+A) : 22 goals, 8 assists in 3125 minutes - 142 min/goal, 390 min/assist, 104 min/g+a
Son: (30 G+A) : 18 goals, 12 assists in 3005 minutes - 166 min/goal, 250 min/assist, 100 min/g+a
Aguero (27 G+A) : 23 goals, 4 assists in 2092 minutes - 90 min/goal, 418 min/assist, 77 min/g+a
Ings (26 G+A) : 23 goals, 3 assists in 2919 minutes - 126 min/goal, 973 min/assist, 112 min/g+a
Auba (25 G+A) : 23 goals, 2 assists in 3365 minutes - 146 min/goal, 1682 min/assist, 134 min/g+a
Kane (23 G+A) : 21 goals, 2 assists in 2860 minutes - 136 min/goal, 1430 min/assist, 124 min/g+a
Rashford (33 G+A) : 22 goals, 11 assists in 3019 minutes - 137 min/goal, 274 min/assist - 91 min/g+a
Only Sterling, Aguero, Ings and Kane have scored at a faster rate, and only Ageuro has a better rate of goal/assist contribution.
Also, of course I did Bruno's numbers, but it's England + Portugal :
Bruno ( 45 G+A) : 23 goals, 22 assists in 3830 minutes - 166 min/goal, 174 min/assist - 85 min/g+a
Edit: Rashford is over 2 years younger than the next person on the list - Martial (who himself is a full year younger than the next person on the list - Sterling).
Imagine he played half a season relying on supply from James, Lingard, Mata, Fred and McTominay. Next season, fitness permitting, he is going to overtake a few on that list. This belongs here.
And some used to argue on here that Rashford and Martial are useless and it wasn't that nob Mourinho holding them back. Awkward for those fans now, a real egg on face scenario.
He has been slightly rusty in front of goal since the restart but his overall play has been brilliant.
I like this new side of his game, proper playmaker and looks very mature in his play. He is looking for teammate all the time which is great to see.
Just imagine if Martial and Rashford weren't stalled by a certain Portuguese cnut for 2.5 years. They'd be absolute world class right now!
Ya, I meant it as a joke.I know that you likely meant it as a joke, but an "honoris causa" is not a doctorate, so you cannot put Dr. before your name (and in countries that are serious about the titles like Germany, that would be punishable by law).
Depends on the country, I guess. In most it should not matter. In Germany, it is a crime putting a Dr. next to your name in case you do not hold a Ph.D. Degree (or be a medical doctor).Ya, I meant it as a joke.
But I thought honorary doctorates do not use the title as a courtesy, and not because law does not allow them.
He was the slowest to get up to speed since lockdown, but that’s completely understandable considering he had quite a lengthy back injury
Comfortably the most in-form player alongside Bruno/Martial.
His performance vs Palace was world-class.
Yeah Jose played a big role in slowing them down but progress can happen at various points during careers. Them continuing to improve is also part of the natural flow of thingsThis is what United is about. Giving players a chance. Alot of players say it is his natural progression.
Why is Martial only progressing at 24? whereas Rashford at 22?
The answer is Ole. Jose never game them a good chance, youngsters will be inconsistent, you have to put your faith, have the patience and you will get the rewards.
Jose still doesn't believe Martial is a No.9
I remember a few of us on here arguing with the José acolytes about José stifling his and Martial's progress as players. I used to use Pep's work with Sterling and Sané as examples of how we were getting the polar opposites of what a good manager does with young talent.Just imagine if Martial and Rashford weren't stalled by a certain Portuguese cnut for 2.5 years. They'd be absolute world class right now!
Minus penalties
= 2019/20 - 11 goals
Should have been rested, he was awful tonight, unable to give simple passes no linkup Play and gave away ball without any pressure
Still awful after Martial, Greenwood and Pogba are in.He had James next to him. And Williams on the left. He literally had to do everything as the other two are useless.
Still awful after Martial, Greenwood and Pogba are in.
What's the next excuse?
