i sometimes despair at how fans actually watch our players. Rashford has been rusty/unlucky with his finishing but his overall game has still been excellent since the restart.

The thought of Rashford, Martial and Sancho all playing together with Greenwood as an option to bring on to rotate is just, well. It's brutal.

Just imagine if Martial and Rashford weren't stalled by a certain Portuguese cnut for 2.5 years. They'd be absolute world class right now!

Maybe, although perhaps they needed that ying and yang to grasp how good they have it under Ole right now. Either way, the goals we're scoring right now are just sublime and that's not luck, we're scoring too many beautiful goals recently for it to be just coincidence. Can't wait for next season personally, once the schedule gets a little bit more normal we'll be even better imo as fatigue has slowed us down a tad recently.

Got his goal scoring boots back and looking lively as normal. Great to have during this run in

Aguero (27 G+A) : 23 goals, 4 assists in 2092 minutes - 90 min/goal, 418 min/assist, 77 min/g+a
Ings (26 G+A) : 23 goals, 3 assists in 2919 minutes - 126 min/goal, 973 min/assist, 112 min/g+a
Auba (25 G+A) : 23 goals, 2 assists in 3365 minutes - 146 min/goal, 1682 min/assist, 134 min/g+a
Kane (23 G+A) : 21 goals, 2 assists in 2860 minutes - 136 min/goal, 1430 min/assist, 124 min/g+a

Rashford (33 G+A) : 22 goals, 11 assists in 3019 minutes - 137 min/goal, 274 min/assist - 91 min/g+a

Only Sterling, Aguero, Ings and Kane have scored at a faster rate, and only Ageuro has a better rate of goal/assist contribution.

Also, of course I did Bruno's numbers, but it's England + Portugal :
Bruno ( 45 G+A) : 23 goals, 22 assists in 3830 minutes - 166 min/goal, 174 min/assist - 85 min/g+a

Edit: Rashford is over 2 years younger than the next person on the list - Martial (who himself is a full year younger than the next person on the list - Sterling).

This belongs here.

That cutback move is becoming something of a trademark for Rashford now and it’s pretty consistently great. When you move as fast as Rashford does and then suddenly chance direction the defenders have absolutely not chance, kind of like Ronaldos chop. He set up a great chance for Shaw in the Southampton game and then used it to great effect again for his goal, excellent skills.

What's brilliant to see is how unselfish he has become... but not just that... he gets his head up and has been playing some perfect assists and key passes.

Not just the little assist for Martial last night, but he put one on a plate for Bruno when he hit the post too and probably should have scored.

And some used to argue on here that Rashford and Martial are useless and it wasn't that nob Mourinho holding them back. Awkward for those fans now, a real egg on face scenario.

We can't rely on them, they never scored goals, who is going to score goals now, Lukaku is the only player capable of scoring 20 goals and we sold him and many more.......

He has been slightly rusty in front of goal since the restart but his overall play has been brilliant.

I like this new side of his game, proper playmaker and looks very mature in his play. He is looking for teammate all the time which is great to see.

He's been fantastic this season and perfectly excels in his role as a sort of playmaker/forward hybrid that's very rare to see from the wings.

This version of Rashford is far more beneficial to the team. He's had a brilliant season in which he spent time out injured.

Agree with this. Also, the changes made by the players have a lot to do with it. Rashford is playing team ball now, instead of being the selfish player he had become. Martial is working on the pitch, making things happen.

I know that you likely meant it as a joke, but an "honoris causa" is not a doctorate, so you cannot put Dr. before your name (and in countries that are serious about the titles like Germany, that would be punishable by law).
Ya, I meant it as a joke.
But I thought honorary doctorates do not use the title as a courtesy, and not because law does not allow them.

Depends on the country, I guess. In most it should not matter. In Germany, it is a crime putting a Dr. next to your name in case you do not hold a Ph.D. Degree (or be a medical doctor).

Really has evolved into quiet the player this season

He'd be on many a transfer shortlist if he was playing like this and putting up similar numbers in another league

Serious underrating of Rashford by some in this thread. I mean arguing if he'll become wordclass or not? Try naming a teams you think he wouldn't get into.

He shifted gears from "Wonderkid" to "Worldclass" since the begining of this season. Remember before his injury when he was our best player, terrorizing defenders, assisting, scoring from open play, penalties and free kicks? Nothing seemed to be happening without him being part of it.

I think some can't or refuse to see it because in their minds Rashford vs Martial is a zero sum game, and unless one is shit the other can't be good.

He was the slowest to get up to speed since lockdown, but that’s completely understandable considering he had quite a lengthy back injury

Comfortably the most in-form player alongside Bruno/Martial.

His performance vs Palace was world-class.

The thing is even in those games his output was great, he made 2 assists for Martial yet was slaughtered. Was unlucky with some offside goals here and there but created a lot of chances.

This is what United is about. Giving players a chance. Alot of players say it is his natural progression.

Why is Martial only progressing at 24? whereas Rashford at 22?

The answer is Ole. Jose never game them a good chance, youngsters will be inconsistent, you have to put your faith, have the patience and you will get the rewards.

Jose still doesn't believe Martial is a No.9
Yeah Jose played a big role in slowing them down but progress can happen at various points during careers. Them continuing to improve is also part of the natural flow of things

I remember a few of us on here arguing with the José acolytes about José stifling his and Martial's progress as players. I used to use Pep's work with Sterling and Sané as examples of how we were getting the polar opposites of what a good manager does with young talent.

"Well, they're not as talented as City's attackers and José's doing the best with what he's got". No, they are as talented as them, and if had swapped managers at the time, we would've had them playing like this ages ago, and Sterling and Sané wouldn't have been half the players they are/were under Pep.

Don't care about his goals, it's slowly improving even if we take out penalties.

:drool:His assists and teamplay though are improving more and more.

:devil:Hell of a complete player he's becoming!

Man Utd 1:3 Chelsea
Should have been rested, he was awful tonight, unable to give simple passes no linkup Play and gave away ball without any pressure

He had James next to him. And Williams on the left. He literally had to do everything as the other two are useless.

Didn't play great tonight but thats ok, too much was asked of him. Start a petition to make him captain.

Did that role a few times earlier in the season where it's just him and Dan James up top... Doesn't really work.

Still awful after Martial, Greenwood and Pogba are in.

What's the next excuse?

1. He's still young
2. He's been overplayed
3. He's still injured or just coming back from injuries
4. He didn't get any service
5. He's working hard and runs about

We can pick any one of the above when he has a bad game, but I wouldn't be so harsh on him for yesterday as point number 2 is valid this time.

Man Utd 1:1 West Ham
Flip a coin! On one side you get Rashford gliding past people and looking superb. The other side you get Rashford receiving the ball on the left wing and passing it backwards for 90 minutes.
