Here's a mental stat, Eden Hazards best ever goal scoring season was last year with 21, Rashford is 4 off that

Here's the issue I have with that. Goals seem to convince people that a player having a generally poor or average match actually had a good one. Take tonight. It was very clear that Rashford was having a poor game, and yet he scored, therefore, there's a score of people highlighting Rashford for having played well. That's precisely how it's been for a good many of the games Rashford has scored in. Retrospectively, we look at his stats and we see he's scored quite a few goals, but then the assumption looking back is, "aha, he's scored X amount of goals, therefore, he's played well Y amount of times", but that's not been the case. A great deal of those games were like tonight.
Bollocks to everything you said. The agenda against Rashford is shameless, our best and most productive player by a mile this season.

Already on 20 or more goals for club and country, plus 5 or 6 assists, Marcus has been doing whatever he can, even playing through small injuries and fatigue because there is no squad depth and other players are constantly Ill or seriously injured.

I guess there is no requirement that fans understand football well, but I find it strange that people on this forum expect Rashford to play entertaining flowing football even when the rest of the team is not playing well. How is it that most of his good games have coincided with a good midfield, namely when McTominay started playing well with Fred? In some of the last few games, the ball does not get to him easily and you find him tracking all the way, then when he passes the ball hoping to get it after his run, his team loses it. We ought to appreciate that sometimes he finds a way to score even when we are shambolic, instead of berating him.

Man Utd 4:0 Norwich
19 goals this season and it's still January. He had a fantastic game. Did he come off because of an injury?

Also, does anyone have a gif of that Ronaldinho skill he pulled off in the 10th min.

I’d guess we’re just trying to wrap him in cotton wool.

Exceptional today, when he’s on his game he’s an incredibly enjoyable player to watch.

His numbers is increasing exponentially. Just imagine if we have a proper no. 10 feeding him more.

You knew he was going to be on it after that delicious piece of skill in the box.

After Pogba , he's the main man now.

For all the slack we give Ole, he has managed Rashford perfectly. Marcus has been fantastic all season and is by far our best player.

Still taking a while for his first hat trick...

Just like Ronaldo :wenger::D

42 goals next year there I said it

Just keeps scoring. Our up and down form has been overshadowing a superb season.

Hes going up a level isn’t he, on track for a 30 goal season at this rate.

Fantastic player. He's stood up and taken on the responsibility of being that 30+ goalscorer that every good team needs in current football.

Monster numbers this season. He’s gone from being a prospect to being a name you seriously put up there with the elite of the league without any caveats. So proud.

Gave him a 10 rating for the 2 goals and those 2 beautiful skills - the elastico and roulette were just mouth-watering!

He’s having a Brilliant season, hopefully he continues to kick on and really reach his full potential. The fact he’s red through and through makes it even sweeter!

Such a very important player for us now. He's quick, loves to get onto the ball and it looks like he has improved his finishing this season. I was worried that maybe his progress had stalled, but he seems to be turning into the striker that we hoped he would. I'll be delighted for him if he can get to that magic 20 Premier League goals this season.

The decision to take him off is right imo. He's just 22 and has been playing like forever this season. The first half he looked down his legs sometime, hope nothing serious.

Love the lad

Not having a go at anyone in particular here, but the criticism Rashford received earlier this season and last was always ridiculous. He's was a young player that was still developing his game and playing for a side struggling for any sort of form. It was clear that he needed time to improve. The fact that certain elements of the online fanbase wouldn't allow him that is mark against us He's firmly answering his critics now.

Thought that touch and the juggling of the ball whilst jostling with Cantwell was more impressive but still he's got fantastic technical ability.

He's got 200 appearances for United already.

He is still not full developed but is putting great number. He is a top talent. Deserves more respect.

The sort of goal that Mane/Ronaldo have made a career out of. Hanging out late on the fullback, then sprinting in and getting a tap in with a clever ball.

We know he's capable, just needs to do that sort of run more often. Usually he's ball watching and not on his toes when that sort of pass comes.

Great penalty also, could have easily bottled it with what happened against Krul last time.
