Oh you..Great first touch for the second goal. A striker with a first touch #NotForEveryone.

Hes such a confusing player. That first touch and finish for the second goal was sublime technique, but then he messes up some of the simple stuff over and over again
I agree and strange how stupidly he can lose the ball, most times it is poor technique. Hope the two goals give him confidence but not too much, hate when he shoots from everywhereI didn't like the stupid flicks and trick passes. You do that when you're 3-0 up against weak opposition or only when you're sure of landing them. He is a better player than what he showed today.
But he probably would have given away as much possession as Rashford did in the 1st half.No way does Lukaku score that 3rd goal today.
Doubtful he scores the penalty either to be honest.
To be fair he looked like a 25p player in the first.Looked like a 250k a week player today, well in the second half. Hope this season brings some real consistency.
Could you imagine Danny Welbeck trying to control Pogba's pass. He would have fallen over even thinking about it.
I think he gets 20+ in the league, 30+ in all competitions this year. You could see it from the first game of preseason, he’s got an entirely different kind of focus this year. The way he grabbed the ball to take the penalty, he knows he needs to be the guy who bags goals week in and week out.
One thing I really like about Rashford is, that he often seems to score against tough opponents. He already has 10 goals against top six sides, including doubles against Arsenal, Liverpool and now Chelsea. That's pretty impressive. Compare that to Lukaku who couldn't get a goal against our league rivals to save his life.
He was not particularly good in the build-up play yesterday, though. Hopefully that will improve.
I just have to wait and see because he started well under Ole last year then ended with 3 in 17. I had the feeling that once things started to not go right for him, he seemed to lose his head last year. Hoepfully he can keep pace with Auba this seasonI think he gets 20+ in the league, 30+ in all competitions this year. If we can get him to do more of those runs for the 2nd goal he will be very hard to stop.
As others said I don't like when he does that silly little back flicks, especially as they RARELY work, he'd be better off controlling the ball and playing a quick 1-2.
Seems like his penalties really are quite good, he strikes the ball very cleanly which is great to see. Guess he's been taking lessons from Kane in that regard.
Yeah I did, I don't really believe him TBH. I think he obviously does watch the keeper to begin with, but by that point running up he'd clearly made his mind up.Did you see Nev interviewing him after the game about his penalty technique? He said that when he starts his run up he is waiting for the keeper to move, so he can send him the wrong way. He will only smash it like that if the keeper hasn't moved by the time he reaches the ball.
We sold our leading scorer to give him a better role in the side and we improved his contract to match Aubemeyang's. someone has to step up. You cannot have your cake and eat it. Aubameyang started 38 games as a CF compared to Rashford's 32 last year. they each played 14 and 13 out wide.Auba is one of the best strikers in the world, playing as an out and out number 9, with the team entirely set up to supply him with the chances on which he thrives. It’s unrealistic to expect a 21 year old playing primarily on the left wing, with a questionable midfield behind him, to get near his figures.
If Rashford gets to 20 goals in all competitions this season then that will be a brilliant season for him.
Big game Rashy!
Still can't believe he's only 21. Whatever happens this season, we have to ensure that Martial and Rashford go into next season as established top class players with a full season in their favoured position. For this reason I'm glad we didn't sign a replacement for Lukaku.
What does it say about Rashford, when he is first choice Penalty taker?
Pogba was on penalties last season.
Is it that Rashford won the penalty or is he now the undisputed no.1 Penalty taker?
I'd prefer Rashford to take them because deep down I want him up the scoring charts and pens will help with this.In his post match interview yesterday Rashford said there's isn't a designated penalty taker and it's whoever is feeling the most confident at the time. I would imagine most of the time whoever wins the pen then takes it unless like Rashford said they're not feeling confident about it (or ya know it's someone like Shaw who's winning it)
