He is a Utd legend in the making, starting to make the step from potential to consistent production. Will still have dips but the next 3/4 years he will be essential watching.
I think he received some fair criticism when he was playing centre forward (he really was that bad) , although some of the comments were way over board. I think Ole has realised his best position /role and is sticking with him there.Feel for him sometimes because he gets some really cringeworthy comments thrown at him. When he plays well he’s the next Ronaldo and when he plays poorly he needs to be loaned out. We’ll see one half come out over the next few days and the other half will come out next time he struggles. It’s pretty cringeworthy but it is what it is I guess.
The reality is somewhere closer to the middle IMO but he was brilliant tonight.
That's all that's stopping us fro being very good. Can you imagine how scary Rashford would be if we had a strong midfield that can carry ball, pass and control midfield?
I don't think his future is as a CF, mate. He's on another level on the left.Having a pretty good scoring season isn't he despite still getting a fair bit of stick. Real point to prove game v Mourinho tonight.
9 in the league, 2 in cup v Chelsea and always scored a few this season for England. If he stays fit should break through 20 goal barrier for first time in his career.
Still a work in progress as central striker but he's doing o.k from my neutral perspective.
Certainly wouldn't mind him in my team after watching another 90 minutes of Wesley tonight!
Exactly. We all saw in that OT game against Chelsea where Herrera followed Eden hazard on the pitch. Surprised that Mourinho just gave him the freedom of the pitch. I thought he would double, even triple team him since he is the only player on the pitch capable of taking on multiple players. He was brilliant tonight, but you kind of knew he would be against a team that gives him space. Amazing that Mourinho didnt plan for that.

I reckon that if Martial had stayed fit, thus preventing Marcus from having that brief period as our lone CF, it could've been likely that he would've already been around 20 goals. Without our main playmaker in Pogba for, what, 90% of the season so far, too.
Here's hoping!Yep and that's completely fine too. There are plenty of prolific players that do well on the wing and he looks like he could be one of the elite ones.

Played on the left with greenwood central.Did he not play central tonight? I assumed he did and Greenwood was out wide just from looking at the team.
Forgot to say he's also doing this without Man. United's sole source of creativity in midfield missing most of the season as you reference.

save posts like this for the end of the season Marcus!!
I swear once his decision making matures, he will be so so much better.
And people need to stop this need for him to play center forward. No one is asking Mane or Salah tk play CF.
Ah cheers, surprised by that with it being Greenwood's first prem start but clearly from the result and performance the tactic worked a treat and probably surprised Mourinho a bit.
Shaw put it on a plate for him after that, though. We're just not allowed to score hattricks anymore. His best game in a Utd shirt yet? Thought he was electric, Shaw robbed him off his first hat-trick.
