I'm really enjoying him in this new 'inverted winger' role. His creative passing and intelligent movement is really being showcased.

He's been instructed to play wide and from deeper, creating not finishing. He won't love it but he's doing it very well. Much more effective creatively than Bruno today. Hard to say which was more impressive, his through-balls or his pinpoint crosses.

He'll wonder how he hasn't got a hat trick of assists having put three chances absolutely on a plate for Bruno, Wan Bissaka and Martial. He'll also rightly feel he should have put that 1v1 away near the end of the game.

Thought he was excellent today. Only Pogba had more touches than him today as well, which is telling. Different role, more creative but he's creating and still had a couple of chances where he could've scored.

He really matured over the lockdown. He now knows when to drive into space or when passing to a teammate is the better option

Surprised he's adapted so well to a supporting role. Clearly letting Greenwood take up the spaces centrally while he stretches the game and feeds everyone else. If this is him struggling for confidence in front of goal then imagine how good he'll be when he pulls it all together in a free flowing team.

Played much better 2nd half. Those over laps with shaw are Starting to become really dangerous.

looking like he’s getting a bit of his form back now

He was very good in the 2nd.

He's not playing as direct as he was prior to the break. He is linking up more and playing penetrative passes.

I think thats a result of us being more of a controling team now with Bruno and Pogba in midfield. I think Rashford trives better in a counter attacking team, a bit like we were pre break.
He's strong as an ox, fast as lightening and has upgraded his passing skills. I think as a team we have evolved to the next level with Bruno and Pogba and Martial stepping up. And with that i think he isnt technical good enought to bench Marial, Greenwood or Sancho (if we buy him). His ball control isnt quite up there and i feel he some times is a bit.. clumsy?

He is still a very very good player and he will have an important part to play in our future success.

Yeah the fact he picked it up in the second half is pleasing. I'm not worried about him at all, his finishing post-lockdown hasn't been up to it but his general play has been ok.

He has become a complete player now. He has matured so much, but not skipped the hard work. He is playing from deeper now, rather than playing on the shoulder of the defenders and playmaking like a midfielder from the deep.

Amazing talent, and just shows the different strings he has to his bow. Should have had a couple of assists more today.

Our front three is scarily good. Big fan of all three and the variety of threat they offer is really exciting. Martial and Greenwood firing since the restart and now Rashford getting sharp

His vision is excellent, even when he doesn't score.

I'm actually more stunned why Shaw wasn't on the score list after today.

I like his passing from deeper areas particularly,a strong performance. Like Martial he was unlucky not to get on the score sheet.

I feel his ball control and first touch is one of his best attributes. Countless times you see him pick a ball out of the sky and slip it through a defenders legs.

Great first touch from that Pogba pass to get in behind near the end of the game. Alongside his passing it’s one part of his game that has come on leaps and bounds.

Agree, but still cant shake the feeling that he’s still abit doubting about going full speed forward 1v1 after his injury.

He’s very unselfish , had a few opportunities to shoot and he passed it.

I don't think that's why tbh. I think he's just being coached to play that way. Greenwood also hardly tries to dribble his man unless the space is provided. It's like we just keep possession and if the space is there, go for it and dribble

I'm enjoying his role but sometimes I wish he just drives at the defender or cuts in and laces one in. Too intricate.

I think his mentality has changed. This shows more maturity. Not saying every single one of those passes was correct, but I don’t think he was doing that at all before.

It’s a new skill, he might overuse it for now but another string to his bow and make a defender second guess himself.

Thought he was very very good tonight.

Soooo unlucky in front of goal at the moment, scores and Pogba is offside.

Good mature performance, lots of smart passing. His finishing still needs some work, but those goals will come eventually. Most importantly looks to have improved his overall game.

He’s been underwhelming since coming back from injury, and he’s had these lesser periods of form before.

I’m OK with that as the goals are plentiful from elsewhere. But at some point Greenwood and Martial will lose form or luck and Rashneeds to be sure he can raise his game on those occasions.

its a good example on how Sancho will fit in: eg right now Id start Sancho in Rashfords place.

3 from 4 is a very viable strategy and will keep all our front men on their toes for a place in the team.

It is a ridiculous cliche that has stuck because they can't accept how much he has improved and the different facets of his game that he has shown this season.

The only thing that he has been slightly rusty at is his finishing.

His scoring boots have disappeared a bit but his all round game has really improved since pre lockdown.

Love a bit of Rashford, great talent and keeps adding new things to his game through sheer hard work.

Nah. I agree with the previous poster, even when counter opportunities are available or open spaces, he's avoided making those runs. Greenwood has been far more aggressive. The directness is what makes him who he is. Its great that he's improved his all round game though, but I feel we won't see him at full tilt till next season due to the back injury.

The goals are missing but he’s doing some very clever work. The sort of work you’d expect to see from your typical #10s.

He’s doing my head in. Thinks he’s a playmaker. Needs to make some runs off the ball, he hasn’t been doing that enough all season but since the restart it’s been close to non-existent.

Slowly getting back to it. He's doing a lot of hardwork just not scoring right now. I reckon once it happens he'll be fully flying again.i

I really could see a few today, just didnt get pinged.

Need more. It’s his bread and butter. This season generally, and particularly recently, his interpretation of that left-sided role hasn’t played to his natural strengths.

Reminds me of prime Rooney when he used to go through his barren patches.

Working hard, great passing range, intelligent movement and good creativity. He's just lacking in front of goal a little bit.

In fact, I'd go a bit further and say that today was very similar to some of Rooney's performances from the left in 2008.

As many have said, definitely needs a goal.
A few occasions today I'd have liked to have seen him shoot, but you can tell that side of his game is lacking a bit of confidence right now. That being said, on them occasions, he held the ball well, made passes to Shaw (Credit to Shaw for the runs), just the balls being whipped into a crowded box couldn't really get passed the Villa side

He’s struggling mentally with greenwood excelling. Not quite clicking, not enjoying his game. Needs a couple of goals which is why ole keeps leaving him on after subs

He’s had a couple of goals disallowed too which he couldn’t do much more with apart from finish well.

I think he played really well tonight. Not worried that he hasn’t scored in open play in a few games, sure he can bag soon enough.
