Maybe it's that new undroppable and unsubbable status he's been enjoying that's not helping.

He needs a remainder that he needs to perform to get picked.

Looks like he's been playing through injury for awhile. Had a very poor day in office, but it is not his fault Ole kept him on for 90. Will bounce back, of course, and come good in the long run. I have faith that he'll learn to be our main striker in a year or two.

Needs resting. I would drop him for Wolves, and bring him off the bench.

His dribbling from a technical POV leaves a lot to be desired. Too much of a kick and rush player for my liking.

Needs a spell on the bench. Looks like he needs a rest I dunno.
Ole needs to be a bit tougher with him I think. Sub him off when he's not doing well. Keep him grounded.

Disagree. The first one Rashford would have slotted it in with his right foot. Low and into the corner.
You've watched us play right? Rashford isn't that reliable when it comes to finishing even the easiest of chances are always up in the air when it comes to him.

He's missed worst sitters than the Lukaku's one today.

I agree with this. So far Ole has made him undroppable and unsubbable which hasn't helped. He's been poor for a while now and has yet to even been subbed in any of his weak games.

Everyone was off today but he was the worst of em. Said before the game that it looks like he needs a break. He's barely had one since that ballooned ankle.

Rashford just isn't very good, sorry.
He is very limited. Its been very obvious for some time now. I don't want to go hard on him too much after this loss but he just doesn't have that natural talent that a mbappe, dembele and martial have. What he has going for him is his workrate and high determination.

However his biggest crime is his arrogance. Need to be brought back down to planet earth before its to late.

Needs a spell on the bench definitely. Not good enough to be a guaranteed starter.

His decision making was awful today. Absolutely nothing to do with his level of quality. It seemed very much like the performance of a youngster whose spent the last few days being pilloried with praise, and subsequently making immature ego-centric choices.

When he actually remembered to pass it to someone else, he pulled out probably the second best ball of the game, to slip in Lukaku for that early 2nd half chance.

He needs an arm round his shoulder and a polite reminder to keep it simple and play himself into the game, when it isn’t immediately rolling for him.

I don't think he's been fully fit since the Liverpool game but that aside he was terrible today but still created a sitter for Lukaku, the rest of his passing and shooting was really poot today though.

He missing Jesse I think, seems to have his better games when Lingard is in the team and he's playing upfront alone.

Think this will be interesting to watch how Ole treats rashford. Clearly not the same since injury, and is overall at a pretty poor level aside from a moment here or there. Easy to bench a guy like Lukaku who was clearly a Mou favorite, but let's see if Ole has the stones to treat all players equal and give rashford a similar treatment.

That ball to Lukaku was magic and he needs to have that more in his game.
Very poor overall though and yes needs to work on decision making. Too many breaks broke down.
Needs a rest and yes Wednesday seems to have affected him.

I've always said, and will keep saying it, he's much much better up top. Push him out wide and his brain turns to mush.

We don't have any actual wide players aside from Martial and we need to accomidate Lukaku, so we end up pushing Rashford out wide which negates his actual strengths (running in behind, hold up play and finishing), and instead we ask him to do the things he struggles with (dribbling with the ball at feet).

100% agree. I've been saying since he's a regular starter that's he just not that good. He's an average winger and worse striker. But I've said it too many times on the caf that I'm called a hater or else I'm quoted when he eventually has a good game.

He's a great work rate and scores a nice or two but he's fairly wank ability 9/10 times. If he's here when he's 28 it's cause he's a youth product and not because of quality.

His decision making baffles sometimes. He needs to trust his teammates more in the future. But I don't think rushing him back from injury has worked well. We have other options so I'd like to see Ole freshen it up next game.

What was that turn and shot thing he did in the first half when in acres of space inside the box? Didn't see a replay so don't know if it was a cross or a shot.

Disagree entirely with this.

Ole needs to lock him in the video room and make him watch his own clips. Its great that hes being more confident of himself, but decisions were shocking today, passes were underhit, if he can improve those things then he can start becoming someone to rely on.

Think it was a shot. But either way, it was poor and he rushed it without any reason.

What baffled me was how lazily he took it as it was potentially a great chance. Nobody close to him and on his stronger foot.

That's my biggest gripe with him. If you are a RvN or a Ronaldo, I can understand this constant greed to be a scorer. Rashford isn't fit to lace their boots so far, yet he keeps taking ridiculous shots even when he has teammates in better positions.
Don’t think he’s even seeing the open teammates yet. Lacks a lot of composure

Yep, could have curled it into the corner, like he did against Brighton at home i believe. It was a decent chance to be honest, but i think he is a bit overplayed at the moment with Martial and Lingard missing.

He tends to take things too casually too often and is still technically raw but he's certainly a massive talent. You're too harsh. He's still learning and I feel the hype sometimes gets to him. Not yet a top-class forward but one in the making, which is already huge.

Just wait til he signs the bloated contract Eddy eventually puts on the table. He’ll be on prime Rooney money.

Basically we are more guilty of the perception of his than he himself is. He had this streak of few games when he was great and some said he's ready to carry us. He's not. Not yet. He's a diamond, though and needs to be managed accordingly. We may have a true great on our hands but he still needs some time.

Stop overracting after one bad game I'd say.

you're insane
I honestly believe Chong is a superior dribbler to Rashford. I've been saying that for some time now. Rashford is overated on this forum. What facet of his game stands out apart from his pace?

He's never going to make it as an out and out striker here. He lacks the instinct. I've said that pretty much since day 1.

He'll transition into a second striker / wide forward on a more permanent basis. He has the pace and movement to lose markers but he needs space to run into and time to pick his pass, which he will only get in those positions. The decision making will improve with time but not enough to make him a standout player when he has defenders all round him i.e as a number 9.

He was terrible today. But he's 21 and needs to be managed as such, should have been subbed early in the 2nd half.

Feels like the winner on Wednesday went to his head a bit. Hopefully such a poor performance will bring him back down to earth

Skill, vision, touch, energy, movement, technique in striking a football, determination & bottle.

He's been shit since he took a kick to the ankle and had to play through the pain (even so at 21 you expect inconsistency) but don't forget what he's been doing before then- particularly when played as a centre forward.

Yeah, you are wrong back then and still wrong today.
