Are you seriously saying in that position there's no chance Chamberlain gets past Rooney or Ibra?

He's saying ibra or rooney would have played a tactical foul. Which is what Rashford should have done.

I was screaming that before the cross even went in let alone the goal. He's far too soft to be a winger with defensive responsibility.

Where's this world class potential?

I must be missing it. He's been shite this season and it's about time he is dropped.

Who is the alternative to him? Caf whipping boy Lingard?

Martial's been worse than Rashford or do we move the goalposts because it doesn't fit the agenda?

Young? Is he "united material" again after sitting on the bench?

Mkhi if he's actually still on the payroll?

United fans are bipolar as feck. Whine all year long about not having any Giggs/Beckhams coming through the academy, and shit on academy kids doing well like Rashford, Lingard and even Pogba.

Yeah you are missing it. He's been shite because he's been played out of position. If he doesn't have world-class potential then absolutely no-one his age does. Come back to me when you find someone his age show what he did last season at the highest level. But of course it's easy for you to come out with this now.

Does anybody recall how good a left back Andy Cole was?

Andy Cole would have actually done something up front and moved a little.

Also Rashford has played his whole youth career on the wings. This isn't something new to him like how you making it out to be.

Even more reason to foul.

Maybe. He's still too much of a nice guy at the moment. Doesn't complain enough when he gets fouled.

But when you're tired, it slows everything down. It becomes really hard when you're chasing a guy with explosive acceleration like oxlade chamberlain.

At that point in the game I'm certain both would have fouled him.

So it's been decided. Neither Ibra or Rooney have ever let a player as fast as Chamberlain run past them.

Where did he actually play today?

He played up front and barely did anything. Made no runs in behind. I'm not Rooneys biggest fan but atleast he actually moved when he came on.

Even in the first half when Pogba put a brilliant ball in and all he was doing was standing still.

He's a kid, we will learn from his mistake. Thought he worked hard upfront, made a lot of runs and opened up spaces.

The intention from Oxlade chamberlain that he was going to go down the wing for a cross was so obvious I could have anticipated that and defended that better. Rashford did not anticipate that and he fecked up. It really is as simple as that.

@Dobbs seems to have a real problem with just admitting a glaring mistake from Rashford. It completely bizarre.

Where did he play today for 60 odd minutes?

Only a halfwit would judge Rashford's potential on the basis of today's 60 minutes.

You asked where was the world class potential. It's been staring you right in the face for over six fecking months.

I just wish he'd have just grabbed Oxlade-Chamberlain and surrendered the free kick. Literally grab him. Hold his shirt til the ref blows. He's not on a yellow. Why not grab him?

Depay is a better player than Rashford, just give him a chance

If you're so cut throat about Rashford, why is there so much leeway for MEMEphis when he did feck all last year? Things got so bad that LVG - supposedly his own father figure - had to drop him. Just stop

His fault for the goal. Pogba should have helped him but far too easy for Ox to get passed him.

Not acceptable really.

What do you mean it's not acceptable?

Posters get so unbelievably serious about every single mistake.

Martial was playing great on the left, that is why Memphis never got a chance. Rashford is too clumsy and looks very amateur at times

So tell me his strengths?

I'm not judging it on 60 minutes. You making out he's never played on the wing in his life. That's where he played for the youth team ffs.

I imagine the reaction would be different if a foreign player was performing like this.

That goes out of the window 90 minutes in and fighting for a result. All hands to the pump.

No it doesn't, the reason Arsenal had one chance all game was due to United's defensive positioning, of course it doesn't go out of the fexking window @TheReligion

Stop looking for other answers when the simple one is that Rashford should do much better & will learn from this.

What it means.

It's 1-0 and 90 mins in. You don't let someone ghost passed as easily as that. I'd sooner he chop him down or give a free kick.

I'm not bothered about the mistake, they happen, as frustrating as it is much better and more seasoned actual LB's than Rashford have made that mistake before. I was more dissapointed with his play as the #9. his best stuff came when he drifted wide.

Of course it was a mistake. There's no denial about that.

I'm just laughing at your hypothetical theory that Ibra or Rooney wouldn't have let it happened. I would wager there's countless examples of extremely quick players running past them at important times.

Of course Ibra wouldn't have been in the position in the first place.

I said Rashford should do better. Did you miss that?

I also feel Pogba could have come over.

It was obvious we needed to stop the ball coming into the box from out wide given Giroud was on the pitch.

I'm saying they would have had more experience and physical presence to play a tactical foul. They might not do it every time, but you can be rest assured beyond reasonable doubt they'd handle it better than Rashford did.

Except Martial spent a lot of time at #9 with Depay on the wing. Sometimes it was Rooney at 9, Depay on the wings. Martial was only sent wide because of Rashford's emergence.

Rashford scored 12 goals in his first 25 apps, I'd take that kind of clumsy player all day.

Reading some absolute nonsense on here at times. The lad is on another level and poises a threat every time he's on the ball. Couple years from now I predict we'll have one of the best players in the world.

Regarding the goal, even if he fouled him, someone on here would have then blamed him if they then scored from free kick. We needed a second goal and that was the bigger issue.
